Chapter 3 The Ungrateful Man Who Sold His Sisters to Escape the Mountains (Part 3)
"Could you please write down how much money my family borrowed, and also the names of the borrowers? It will make it easier to repay the money later." Ji Huaizhi was a little more polite this time.
"Is that okay, Uncle? I'll buy you two packs of Seven Wolves cigarettes when I come back!"
The village chief's eyes lit up: "It's settled, Uncle has written it all down for you clearly."
Back then, a pack of Seven Wolves cigarettes cost more than ten yuan.
Is this kid really going to make it big?
And now he speaks much more reliably than before.

Ji Huaizhi breathed a sigh of relief after hanging up the phone; Ji Xiang wouldn't have her dowry changed so easily.
"You made a call outside the province, it costs 80 cents a minute, and you talked for four and a half minutes, so that's five minutes." At this time, public phones were still manned.
"The service fee is one cent, so it's four dollars and one cent in total."
Ji Huaizhi touched his pocket and found it empty.
She winked and smiled at the woman at the window, saying, "Sister, your perm looks really good."
"Really?" The older woman smiled, then immediately changed her expression: "Forty-one cents, no bargaining!"
Ji Huaizhi never imagined that he, a rich second-generation in his past life, would be stumped by four yuan now.
"Sis, I forgot to bring any money with me when I went out." Ji Huaizhi said quickly when he saw her expression change. "But please wait a moment..."
"Host, Wang Facai has come looking for you," the system notified.
Upon hearing the system's words, Ji Huaizhi smiled: "But someone is sending me money. Don't worry, they'll be here soon."
The older woman shook her head: "Young man, are you teasing me?"
"Hehe, isn't it because you're so friendly?" Ji Huaizhi said with a grin, "Sis, don't expose me when someone comes later."
The older sister glanced at him and said, "You were tricked into coming here, weren't you? You're quite clever for telling your family not to send money."
"I'm really unlucky that my sister figured it out." Ji Huaizhi said dejectedly.
The older woman said, "I won't say anything out of the ordinary; I only take money."
When Wang Facai arrived, several people followed behind him, probably to prevent him from realizing what was happening and reporting it to the police.
"Brother Fortune!" Ji Huaizhi waved: "You've come at the perfect time, pay me for me!"
Wang Facai was stunned for a moment, then his expression turned fierce: "Where have you been, kid?"
“He called my family asking for money!” Ji Huaizhi raised his chin: “He said my older sister borrowed two thousand yuan from her husband’s family, and my younger sister said the man she’s marrying is willing to give a dowry of 1,500 yuan.”
Upon hearing this, Wang Facai's expression immediately changed: "Really?"
"Good lad! You'll be the one who gets the biggest share of the money among you guys. Today I'm taking you to meet our boss."
Ji Huaizhi raised an eyebrow: "Sure, Brother Fa Cai, hurry up and pay me!"
"I gave you all the money I sent last time, and I didn't keep any for myself, which is too inconvenient."
Wang Facai gestured to his brother to give him money, then put his arm around Ji Huaizhi's shoulder: "Come on, we're just out, let's grab some rice noodle rolls before we go back."
"I'll give you fifty yuan to buy cigarettes in a bit. It's really inconvenient for a grown man to be without money."
Ji Huaizhi said with a touched expression, "Thank you, brother, you're truly my good brother!"
"Don't mention it!"
The curly-haired woman shook her head: "Poor handsome guy~"
After the meal, Wang Facai watched him go into the house and said, "Keep an eye on the people inside. Don't let anyone go out alone, or they might realize what's going on and not get the remaining few thousand yuan."
"Got it, Brother Fortune."
Wang Facai took a deep drag on his cigarette: "I didn't expect this little bastard's family could borrow so much money. If they're planning to quit, then let's wait and see."
When Ji Huaizhi went inside, most of the people inside had woken up.
There were seven people living in the house, including him, all from the same county.
Ji Huaizhi's gaze fell on a man with a buzz cut. This man was the first to notice that something was wrong with Wang Facai and his group, and he also suffered the least loss.
He probably already had his suspicions, but he didn't dare to say it.
"Jiwa, where have you been?"
“Go out and call my family to ask for money. My family has given me some change, and they should send it over in a few days.”
Ji Huaizhi said casually, sitting down next to the man with the buzz cut and lighting a cigarette.
I also sent him one.
"Your family must have borrowed a lot of money, right? You haven't even broken even yet, so don't put any more money into it," the man with the buzz cut casually remarked.
I suspect he probably won't listen to reason.
"What's the big deal? We're all out here to make money, why worry about such a small thing?" Ji Huaizhi noticed out of the corner of his eye that the person by the window had left.
This place should be one of their hideouts.
Looking at the buzz-cut man who was silently smoking, he asked, "Hey, what's your name again?"
Man: "Jiang Fulin."
A few people were playing cards nearby. Ji Huaizhi kicked one of the younger ones and said, "Go outside and keep watch. If anyone comes, come in and let them know, understand?"
The man refused: "I'm not going."
Ji Huaizhi kicked him directly: "Just go when I tell you to, or do you believe I'll get Brother Fa Cai to beat you up?"
The boy pouted and went out, clearly unconvinced.
Jiang Fulin glanced at him.
Ji Huaizhi tapped on the bedside: "Stop playing around, get up, I have something to say to you."
"What's wrong, Jiwa? Something seems off about you."
Ji Huaizhi looked at them; they were all acquaintances from the same place, and three of them were even friends with the original owner of this body, so he could trust them quite a bit.
Ji Huaizhi's demeanor seemed to have changed, which surprised Jiang Fulin.
"We've all been scammed! The membership fees we paid and the money sent from home were all part of their scheme!"
His words drew all five people together.
"I heard it this morning when I got up to take a dump. There were people watching us nearby, and they weren't quiet when they were talking this morning." Ji Huaizhi looked like a gang leader.
“Now they are trying every means to get our families to send money, and when they really run out, they will sell us to other places to work illegally.”
"It's the kind of job where someone holds a whip and watches you work, and the food is worse than the pig feed in the village."
"Really?"
"No way? Weren't they just showing us around?"
"What should we do? I've already given over two thousand yuan! This money was borrowed from all over the place."
"I was scammed out of a total of three thousand yuan!"
Some people cried out of anxiety.
Jiang Fulin frowned: "Just as I thought."
"You knew all along?" Someone looked at him, annoyed that he had only paid less than a thousand yuan in total: "You knew all along but didn't remind us!"
Why are you like this?
"Yeah, that's so unfair of you!"
"We just watched helplessly as we were scammed out of so much money."
