Chapter 30 That sickly guy is actually a master of metaphysics?

My senior apprentice laughed, holding a shovel: "Why work so hard? Just be happy."

He glanced at the Taoist priest's face and said, "Work and rest should be balanced, work and rest should be balanced."

She stepped forward and massaged Ji Huaizhi's shoulder, frowning as she touched his bones: "You've lost weight again. Now that you're back, I'll make sure you get some nourishment."

"What others think doesn't matter; you will always be Wan'an Mountain's disciple!"

Ji Huaizhi smiled faintly: "Even if you chase me away, I won't leave."

"Let's see who dares to kick you out!"

"What happened? Wasn't the surgery supposed to be a success?" Bai Yun rushed to the hospital in a panic.

She first went to Ji Huaiming's side to check on him: "Why is your heart bothering you again?"

Ji Qingshan walked straight to the doctor: "What's the situation now?"

Ji Huaiming lay on the hospital bed without saying a word. His chest heaving showed that he was uncomfortable and didn't want to talk.

"Our results show that the surgery was very successful. No other issues were found during the matching process. We never expected that Young Master Ji would experience rejection now."

"Rejection?" Ji Qingshan turned to look at his son, then excitedly grabbed the doctor: "What rejection?"

"Isn't everything fine after the surgery? How could there be rejection?"

"It's hard to say for sure. We didn't find anything wrong with the examination, but we could tell that Young Master Ji was very uncomfortable."

The doctor's tone was somewhat flustered: "Calm down."

"What should we do now?" Ji Qingshan roared, "Tell me what we should do now!"

"Calm down?" Ji Qingshan shook off the doctor who was trying to break them up: "We've already had the transplant surgery, and he's taken the medication you said would suppress the rejection reaction, so why are we experiencing the same symptoms again?"

Baiyun cried too: "How could this happen?"

"Wasn't it supposed to be a great success? Is everything alright now?"

Ji Huaiming suddenly gasped for breath, and the other doctors who had been trying to persuade him rushed over to check on him.

The white cloud was pulled aside.

Ji Qingshan stood to the side, hands on his hips, waiting for the results with a dark expression.

Ji Huaiming let out a painful growl.

Baiyun waited anxiously for the test results.

Ji Qingshan suddenly turned to leave, and Bai Yun, seeing this, panicked: "Qingshan, where are you going?"

Ji Qingshan shook her off: "I have some things to take care of. You just wait here for the results and call home later."

Baiyun watched him leave, crying, then turned back to see her son being wheeled into the examination room.

He clasped his hands together in prayer: "God, please let my son be safe!"

“I have already lost a daughter, and I am willing to give up my eldest son’s life to give him a way to live.”

"Cough cough!"

Ji Huaizhi was playing chess with the Taoist priest when he suddenly started coughing again.

How have you been feeling lately?

Ji Huaizhi held a white piece in his hand: "Same as always, whatever comes next, every extra day we live is a bonus."

"You speak with an air of maturity despite your young age, yet you act impulsively." Master Wan'an placed a black chess piece on the board. "What are your plans regarding the Ji family?"

"They will destroy themselves without me having to lift a finger."

Ji Huaizhi blocked Bai Zi's path.

Master Wan'an then placed the black stone in another position.

Ji Huaizhi lost this game.

"If you don't make a move, they will make a move against you."

Ji Huaizhi looked up at his master.

"Only one of you and Ji Huaiming can live. His only chance of survival lies in you, but I cannot see any chance of survival in you." Master Wan'an waved his whisk.

"I don't know how you managed to make them mistakenly believe that Ji Huaiyuan's heart could also be used."

"But Ji Qingshan should have already realized it."

"I won't take action if they don't cause trouble, but they are the ones who are looking for trouble."

"Then let's crush it." Ji Huaizhi put down the white piece.

Suddenly, the white pieces on the chessboard had another way to survive.

Noticing his descent, Daoist Wan'an smiled and said, "A dead end is also a way to live."

"There's no need to continue this game. You may leave."

Ji Huaizhi stood up and cupped his hands in greeting: "Yes."

Just as he reached the door, Master Wan'an called out to him, "Huaizhi."

Ji Huaizhi turned around, his eyes showing confusion.

"Alright, go down."

Ji Huaizhi showed no other emotion, nodded, and then opened the door and left.

Master Wan'an looked down at the chessboard and sighed, "You used to hate playing chess with me the most."

"I never knew your chess skills had become so good."

After returning to the Ji family, Ji Qingshan had his servants prepare some items and send them to the secret room.

The dimly lit room was lit only by candlelight.

Ji Qingshan was wearing a jacket. On the table in front of him were a bowl of water, a peach wood sword, yarrow stalks, a compass, and some of Ji Huaiming's personal belongings.

There were two memorial tablets in front of them, bound by iron chains, with the names Ji Yao and Ji Huaiyuan written on them.

If Ji Huaizhi were here, he would find this formation very familiar.

Ji Qingshan first burned incense, then put his index and middle fingers together and made a cut on his palm.

Blood dripped into the water.

He began the ritual while reciting the incantation.

By the time it was over, the things on the table were already in complete disarray.

After leaving the dark room, a servant waited with a phone: "It's Madam's call."

Ji Qingshan answered: "Hello."

"Qingshan, the doctor said Huaiming needs a second transplant. Why?" Baiyun cried on the other end of the phone, "Didn't Huaiyuan give him her heart?"

"Why not?"

"Moreover, the second surgery will be much more difficult and there may be other complications. Why is that?"

“I already know about this. I’ve calculated it. Only Huai Zhi’s heart can keep him alive.”

Upon hearing Ji Qingshan's words, the crying on the other end grew even louder.

"He said Yuanyuan's heart was fine from the beginning, but he did it on purpose, even though Yuanyuan's heart is clearly not fine."

"He did it on purpose!"

Ji Qingshan understood, of course, that he did it on purpose.

I don't know what method he used, but he made them all calculate that Huaiyuan was also Huaiming's lifeline.

In reality, only he can do it.

"My Yuanyuan, he ruined my Yuanyuan and made Huaiming suffer so much."

"If it weren't for him, Yuanyuan wouldn't have died!"

Ji Qingshan didn't want to hear her cry. He was already annoyed, and hearing her crying only made him angrier.

"What's the use of saying all this now? Your son needs to survive first!"

"The person is already dead; we need to find a way to help the living!"

Bai Yun broke down, clutching her hair: "Ji Qingshan, I'm so tired. Why does my child have to suffer like this?"

"Ji Huaizhi won't live past 28, my Huaiming has heart problems, and my only healthy daughter is gone!"
