Chapter 31 The Ungrateful Childhood Sweetheart

Chapter 31 The Ungrateful Childhood Sweetheart

Zhou Peng wants to open a hot pot restaurant.

He also went to the market and conducted research.

As they talked, they pulled out their business plan, which included details about rent, costs, and labor costs.

He wanted Ji Huaizhi to take a good look at him and ask if he was interested in working together.

Ji Huaizhi glanced at his notebook: "It's quite detailed. Did you check the foot traffic around here? And what shops are open nearby?"

Zhou Peng: "The pedestrian traffic on both sides of the road is quite good, and the surrounding area is mostly residential.

"There are quite a few shops around here, and almost every one of them is packed."

"Also, the rent is for two rooms, and the wall in the middle can be knocked down."

Ji Huaizhi nodded. He had just bought a house and didn't have much money left, so he could definitely make some more.

"Okay, I'll do it."

Upon hearing his words, Zhou Peng immediately smiled, feeling that he could achieve twice the result with half the effort.

He's smart; he told his family about his campus delivery business, and they all said he's got the makings of a business.

Tell Zhou Peng not to let this relationship fade away.

Since that's the case, Zhou Peng now tries to involve him in everything he does.

The lease on their apartment hasn't expired yet, so the two haven't asked the landlord to let them move out.

That day, Ji Huaizhi was going back to take care of some business and planned to return the house there and bring the rest of his belongings over.

After borrowing Zhou Peng's car, he first dropped Jiang Xiaomei off at the entrance of the residential area: "Go and see if there's anything else you haven't taken. I'm going to the station to take care of some things."

"I'll come find you in a little while."

While Ji Huaizhi was working on something at the station, the person in charge said to him, "Someone came looking for you earlier, saying he was your brother, and asked if you were the owner of this station."

Ji Huaizhi looked up: "What does he look like?"

"He looks a bit like you, and he's come several times."

"According to the delivery guy, he's inquired about you at school several times, and he probably knows pretty much everything about you."

Ji Huaizhi nodded.

I wondered if he was in the provincial capital?

Seeing that the boss didn't react, the man said again, "He seems to be from the nearby construction site. What should we say next time he comes?"

"He also inquired about your whereabouts and address everywhere."

"It feels very unfriendly."

Ji Huaizhi sneered: "To be honest, if he knew I was doing well, he would feel even worse."

Anyway, we won't have any further contact in the future.

They've all moved and won't be coming back.

Ji Xianglong is the kind of person who looks down on you if you're not doing well, and dislikes you if you're doing well.

Ji Xianglong did come back after a long time. He felt that Ji Huaizhi was definitely avoiding him, afraid that they would find out that he was doing well and had become a boss.

But Ji Xianglong felt he would eventually meet his match. He had inquired and found out that his campus food delivery business was profitable.

Why is he doing so well now?

He works so hard on the construction site to earn money.

Although construction sites can also make money, Ji Xianglong is not someone who can endure hardship.

He wanted Ji Huaizhi to get him a job as a campus delivery driver; if Ji Huaizhi refused, he would smash up Ji Huaizhi's delivery station.

"You're here again? Our CEO, Mr. Ji, came by yesterday. He won't be coming again," the staff at the station said when they saw him.

"Why didn't he come?" Ji Xianglong didn't believe it: "His shop is right here, how could he not come?"

Calling him "General Manager Ji" is more like calling him a bastard.

"He bought a house in the city center, so he must have moved there. Nowadays, food delivery is all online, and Mr. Ji doesn't deliver food. Have you ever seen a boss who still has to do errands?"

Just then, the person who was speaking received a phone call: "I got an order, so I'm leaving now."

Ji Xianglong pulled him aside: "You said he bought a house? And it's in the city center?"

"Hey, don't pull me!" She pulled her hand away and went to get the goods.

Ji Xianglong felt his head buzzing.

"Bought a house? You must be bragging." Ji Xianglong went into the station.

The electric fans inside have all been replaced with air conditioners. Outside is a rest area for food delivery workers, and at the very back there are individual cubicles where several staff members are typing away at computers.

They still call him President Ji?

That's hilarious.

Ji Xianglong was quite provoked: "Why does he get to live so well?"

"Why should I have to work so hard? He bought a house in the city center right after graduation!" she said, pushing over the water dispenser.

The people inside heard the noise and came out to see what was going on: "What are you doing?"

"ah!"

"Why? Why is Ji Huaizhi so lucky?"

He yelled and picked up a stool to smash things.

There wasn't anything valuable outside, so he went inside and smashed the computer.

"Ah! Who is this? A madman!"

"I don't know, call the police immediately."

Everyone thought he was crazy, and the people inside immediately called the police.

Ji Xianglong was still going crazy: "Why? Why? That bastard should have been strangled before."

"Ungrateful wretch! You slut!"

"It should all be mine, it should all be mine."

The Ji family received a call from Ji Decheng in the provincial capital. Upon hearing that her eldest son had been in trouble, Ji's mother was so frightened that she almost lost her balance.

"What did you say? He's been arrested?"

"He went and smashed someone's shop. Luckily, no one was hurt. Ji Xianglong, what kind of parenting did you give him? You've brought me such a big problem!" Ji Decheng was at the construction site when the police station suddenly called him.

Unexpectedly, it was he who vandalized someone else's territory; he thought it was the village.

“I don’t care anymore, he’s already been detained. He doesn’t work hard, if you can’t bear to see him suffer, you shouldn’t have let him come to the construction site.”

"You guys coming here to handle this yourselves are just asking for trouble."

"Oh no! What should we do about Lao Ji!" Ji's mother asked Ji's father in a panic, slapping her thigh in fear, "Why would he smash up someone's shop?"

"He's been arrested."

Father Ji, his face dark with anger, was getting a headache from the noise: "Shut up!"

"He must have smashed the second brother's place. He called back a while ago and said that the second brother Ji was doing something on campus and making a lot of money every month."

Ji's mother suddenly remembered that she had asked for the police's phone number earlier: "Then I'll call my second son."

Ji Huaizhi didn't answer the phone when he saw it.

He knew that Ji Xianglong had been sent to prison, and he asked Zhou Peng to intervene.

He won't let this go so easily.

"He's not answering the phone, what should I do?"

"What? What should we do? Keep fighting. I'll have someone buy us tickets and get over there first." Father Ji said hurriedly, "Pack your things, take everything you can."

The Jiang family next door overheard this and were somewhat gloating.

He's in jail; that's no small matter.

When Ji's father returned, Ji Huaizhi finally answered the phone.

"Hey? How could you send your brother to prison? Release him right now!" Ji's mother shouted.

Father Ji snatched the phone away: "You unfilial son, your brother..."

“I’ve heard about what happened to him. I didn’t send him in. The station over there isn’t under my jurisdiction. I’ve already sold it to someone else.”

"They will definitely investigate now."

“Go and tell him that’s your brother,” Father Ji ordered him.
