Chapter 5 Life Swap 5
Sun Qiao looked at her mother-in-law, knowing that they had already chosen the name themselves while they were in the hospital.
It is said that the child's name must be chosen by the biological father.
So he consulted several cultured people at the hospital and together they came up with the name Huaizhi.
Tang Guixiang rolled her eyes: "Our child doesn't want what others have left over. You can take it back yourself."
Ji Xiong was displeased again: "What do you mean by 'the leftovers'? That's Gang Zheng's brother, and Gang Qiang is the boss. What's wrong with the boss choosing a name first?"
"Blame it on the upright kid who came out a day late."
Tang Guixiang: "Anyway, I don't want it. Your name is unoriginal. We should find someone else to name the child Huaizhi."
"Sounds like a cultured person. Qiao'er, tell me the meaning of this name." Tang Guixiang couldn't remember it.
Sun Qiao coughed and said, "Hold onto your principles and persevere."
Ji Xiong was bewildered: "What do you mean?"
Tang Guixiang: "It means my grandson has a name now, and it sounds better than the name you chose. It was specially chosen for him, not something that others had rejected."
Ji Xiong: "Whose child isn't chosen by their grandfather? Such a big thing, why didn't you discuss it with me first?"
“If you were going to the hospital, I would have discussed it with you. But you weren’t at the hospital, were you?” Tang Guixiang tilted her head.
After eating his fill, Ji Huaizhi looked around at this and that, and started whimpering as if he was about to cry, afraid that his grandmother would drop him.
Sun Qiaoxin was completely charmed by that adorable face.
"After eating, I want to find your mother." Tang Guixiang handed the child to Sun Qiao.
Sun Qiao smiled while holding her child, completely forgetting that her father-in-law was still there.
"With so many things going on at home, do you think I have time to go to the hospital for a quick check-up? I don't agree with this name. Our family tradition is that Grandpa always chooses the names, and it has to be changed!" Ji Xiong frowned.
Just then, Ji Gang came in carrying some things: "What are you changing?"
"You brat! How could you decide the child's name all by yourself?" Ji Xiong scolded him.
"No, it was a decision made by my mom, my mother-in-law, and my wife together." Seeing his father was angry, Ji Gang smiled and said, "But you weren't here, were you?"
"Besides, isn't the name Ji Huaizhi a beautiful one?"
"To cherish virtue and hold onto talent, to persevere." This phrase means to hold something precious in one's heart and hold something exquisite in one's hand; "jade" refers to fine jade. "To persevere..."
"Alright, stop talking, I don't understand." Ji Xiong said impatiently, handing him the notebook: "Use the name on this."
Ji Gangzheng shook his head: "No, I like this name, don't argue with me."
"I am the child's biological grandfather!"
"I'm still his biological father."
Ji Xiong pointed at them angrily: "You're the family! I'm just a deliveryman!" He glanced at Tang Guixiang, who didn't speak up for him at all: "I don't care anymore! You don't respect me at all!"
Tang Guixiang stood up: "I'm going back now that Gangzheng is back. Don't worry about him."
"The chicken legs you stewed when you were pregnant were all given to the eldest son's family, so why should he be the one to name it!"
Sun Qiaorang was just seeing her mother off.
Then, holding the baby, she grinned foolishly and said, "Your grandma is amazing!"
"I married your father partly because of your grandmother!"
As Ji Huaizhi blew bubbles, he thought to himself, "No wonder you and Tang Guixiang get along so well."
Just as Ji Gangzheng finished seeing Tang Guixiang off and was about to turn back, Ji Gangqiang popped his head out from next door: "Gangzheng, was Dad angry just now?"
“I didn’t have the name he gave me, so he got angry.” Ji Gang shook his head indifferently.
Ji Gangqiang frowned: "That's where you're wrong. In this area, the children's grandfathers all named them. No wonder Dad is so angry."
"I'm the child's father, why can't I take the child?" he said, preparing to go inside.
Ji Gangqiang called out to him again: "Gangzheng, wait a minute!"
"What's wrong?" Ji Gang asked, walking towards the wall, thinking something was amiss.
"It's nothing, I just wanted to ask if your wife is alright since you were discharged from the hospital so much later than us." Ji Gangqiang actually wanted to ask about the children.
He wanted to go and see, but how could his brother-in-law possibly do it?
"It's nothing, I was just under observation in the hospital, and I've been discharged now that everything is fine."
"What about the child? I haven't really looked at your baby properly before. Bring him out for me to see when you have time." Ji Gangqiang added, "You said before that the child drinks formula, but that stuff has no nutrition."
“Your sister-in-law has plenty of milk, you can bring her over and help you feed her.”
Ji Gangzheng sighed that although his elder brother was sometimes petty and annoying, he was also quite good at other times.
"Fine, I won't take your son's milk anymore. Someone at the hospital was willing to help us breastfeed before, but Huaizhi refused to drink it and only drank formula." Ji Gang laughed when he thought about how the baby resisted back then.
"Can't eat anything?" Ji Gangqiang's heart skipped a beat.
Ji Gangzheng: "What? He only drinks formula. I asked the doctor, and he said it's nothing serious, he's just a picky eater and thinks formula tastes better than breast milk."
Ji Gangqiang: "Did the doctor see him? Did he say anything? When I was in the hospital, I heard that some children's purple lips indicate a disease..."
“Lili said that when she was breastfeeding your son before, she noticed that his face was a little purple.”
Ji Gang frowned, feeling somewhat unhappy: "The doctors and nurses have all examined my son and said he's healthy, eats well, and poops normally!"
"Very robust."
“His face was a little purple before, but it went away after two days. My mother-in-law said it was because he was too small and got squeezed during childbirth, and that it was nothing to worry about.”
"The doctor said it's nothing?" Ji Gangqiang's voice was a little loud: "Really?"
Ji Gangzheng's tone turned displeased: "Ji Gangqiang, why don't I like what you're saying?"
"No, this is your first child..."
"Alright, I'm going to hug my son." Ji Gangzheng wasn't going to talk to him anymore; saying more would only make him angrier.
Feng Li, holding her child, saw Gang Qiang come in and said, "What are you talking about with Ji Gang? Don't mess things up." She then glanced at her eldest daughter, Ji Jiao, and said, "You go out, your dad is fine here."
After the door closed, Feng Li whispered again, "Why don't we go? I still feel a little uneasy."
"We'll go work in another city and come back when the children are older and have grown up and become attached to us."
Ji Gangqiang sat down: "Do you think our son might have been misdiagnosed? He doesn't have heart disease at all?"
"The doctor said it himself." Feng Li looked puzzled: "What's wrong? What do you suspect?"
“I just asked Gangzheng, and he said the doctor said the baby is perfectly healthy, can eat and sleep well, and his face isn’t purple anymore.” Ji Gangqiang looked somewhat confused.
"So, was there a mistake regarding that disease back then?"
Feng Li was also stunned: "Really? That kid was so thin back then, even smaller than Yao Guang who came out later."
Ji Gangqiang continued, "At the time, we suspected he was sick because his face and lips were purple. Gangqiang said that after two days of rest, the purple color of his face disappeared."
"He's so young, it's difficult to examine him. Did the doctor make a mistake?"
The more Ji Gangqiang talked, the more likely it seemed.
Panic began to creep into her heart: "If he's not sick, then my son..."
