Chapter 7 The Ungrateful Man Who Sold His Sisters to Escape the Mountains

Chapter 7 The Ungrateful Man Who Sold His Sisters to Escape the Mountains

"He just left like that?" Daqun stood up.

"Is he really not going back? What about us?" someone asked. "Am I supposed to stay in Guangzhou? How are we going to make money without someone to guide us?"

The large group looked at Jiang Fulin and the little monkey.

"You went with him to withdraw money, how much money did he actually take?"

The little monkey shook its head: "I don't know, neither of us went in. Besides, didn't we already get our money? Let's go back quickly."

"I also think that money in Guangzhou is not so easy to earn."

“That’s right, we’re buying our train tickets back tomorrow. It’s not safe for us to have so much money on us.”

"But when we left, we told our families that we would definitely make a lot of money, but we never expected to be scammed. It's too unfair to go back like this."

"What can we do? I don't see anyone as a good person right now." Fang Youliang frowned.

Seeing someone get up to go out, he asked, "Jiang Fulin, where are you going?"

Jiang Fulin: "I'm not going back. My family needs money, and I'm not willing to go back like this. You should leave sooner rather than later. It's almost dawn, and this place is definitely not safe. I suggest you go directly to the train station."

"and you......"

Before he could finish speaking, Jiang Fulin disappeared into the night.

The five people in the room were stunned.

"Do you think he might go to find Ji Huaizhi?" someone asked.

"I don't know. Should we leave too? What if someone comes looking for us?"

“I also want to stay and earn money. I promised Cuihua that I would go back and marry her after I earned money. If I go back like this, she definitely won’t marry me.” The man squatted on the ground wiping away his tears.

Fang Youliang spoke up: "Ji Huaizhi just said that we could look for factories, or bring some things back to sell and make a profit. Do you want to give it a try?"

Daqun immediately shook his head: "No, you can do it yourselves."

"What if we lose money? Ji Huaizhi isn't honest; he definitely wants us to lose everything! You actually believed his nonsense?"

Daqun was preoccupied with how much money Ji Huaizhi had actually received.

Fang Youliang lowered his head: "I think we can give it a try. Do you want to go and take a look?"

"I'll buy some things for my family when I go back."

"Forget it, we finally got the money back, what if we lose it again?"

"I'm going to put all my money in my underwear."

The little monkey raised its hand: "Brother Liang, I'll go with you."

After Jiang Fulin ran out, he followed Ji Huai.

As dawn broke, I saw him enter a hotel. After walking to the entrance, I found a spot near the door and waited for him to come out.

Ji Huaizhi felt that he smelled terrible from head to toe.

I asked the receptionist for a razor blade and scissors, and shaved off my beard and cut my greasy hair.

After taking off his clothes, he threw them on the ground, not intending to keep them.

He stayed in the shower room for a long time, and when he came out wearing shorts, he was still steaming, but he seemed like a completely different person.

He swept his wet hair back, a strand falling between his eyebrows.

At that moment, there was a knock on the door, and Ji Huaizhi opened it.

The receptionist standing outside the door was initially a bit annoyed, but when she saw him, she couldn't stop smiling.

As she watched the water droplets slide down the man's shoulder, the young woman couldn't help but swallow hard.

Is this the disheveled man who just came in?

He's really handsome.

"What is it?" Ji Huaizhi glanced at him casually.

The younger sister stammered, "There's someone squatting by the door, um...it looks like they're looking for you."

"Let him come up." After saying that, he pretended to take money out of his bag and handed it to the girl: "Buy me two outfits, in my size and the height of that man downstairs."

"The rest is a reward for your hard work."

The younger sister carefully took the hand from those slender, jade-like fingers.

Looking up and seeing the man's smile, my heart started pounding.

She, who usually dislikes trouble, inexplicably agreed.

As he turned to leave with the money, he realized he wasn't a deliveryman.

After closing the door, Ji Huaizhi stopped smiling and casually picked up a towel to dry his hair. Not long after, Jiang Fulin came in.

Looking at the drastically changed man, her throat felt dry: "Brother Ji, I want to work for you."

With his back to him, Ji Huaizhi put on the clothes the woman had brought him and said, "Let's tidy up and rest first, then we'll go out and take a look this afternoon."

I didn't sleep all night, and even if I'm in good spirits, I'm exhausted.

When Jiang Fulin finished tidying up and came out, Ji Huaizhi was already asleep on another bed. His handbag was placed on the bedside table in the middle, very close to his position.

After shaking his head, Jiang Fulin lay down on the bed and had the most restful sleep he'd had since arriving in Guangzhou.

When I woke up, the sun had already set.

Ji Huaizhi drew back the curtains, and Jiang Fulin opened his eyes, calling out "Brother Ji" sleepily.

The two walked down the street. Jiang Fulin looked much more energetic in the new clothes that Ji Huaizhi had bought for him. Ji Huaizhi was wearing a white shirt and had his hair styled in a neat way.

They attracted quite a few glances along the way.

Jiang Fulin looked at him strangely, not expecting that Ji Huaizhi would have such a refined and elegant air about him.

"Where are we going, Brother Ji?" Jiang Fulin followed.

Ji Huaizhi lit a cigarette and tossed the rest to Jiang Fulin.

"I'm going to the bank to send money. Aren't you going to send the change back?"

After receiving it, Jiang Fulin felt that he should indeed send half of it back.

Ji Huaizhi sent 1,000 yuan back to Ji Hong, but after thinking about it, he only sent 1,500 yuan to the Ji family.

He couldn't send too much money back to repay the debt at once, otherwise there would probably be a commotion in the village, and Ji Changcheng and his gang would probably start bragging about it outside.

They might get carried away by a few compliments and start readily agreeing to other people's requests.

Turning his head, he saw Jiang Fulin take out five hundred yuan from his crotch and give it to the staff member. The staff member had probably seen this many times and didn't care.

He estimated that he intended to keep the rest for unforeseen circumstances.

The two found a place to make a phone call and called home.

"Nine cents..." the staff member said to Ji Huaizhi.

Ji Huaizhi: "I want to call one more, we'll settle it together later."

After thinking for a moment, he called the original owner's older sister, Ji Hong: "Hello, I'm looking for Ji Hong."

Ji Huaizhi waited by the phone and heard a warm and bright female voice come from the other end: "Hello, this is Ji Hong."

"Big sister! My dear Huaizhi, how are you doing now? Is your brother-in-law treating you well?"

Hearing her brother's rascally voice, Ji Hong felt like crying. She wondered how he was doing out there: "I'm fine. Why didn't you say goodbye when you left?"

She had initially resented him, but upon hearing her brother's voice, she softened as the older sister.

After hearing from my parents that they had broken off my sister's engagement when I went back to my parents' home last time, I no longer blamed him at all.

"Are you doing well out there? How's the food? Are you settling in? Be careful out there, there are a lot of bad people out there."
