Chapter 7 The Ungrateful Younger Brother! The Terrible Brother-in-Law 7
Ji Renyi brought his younger brother to the door of the ward.
The two remained silent the entire way, and did not go in immediately when they arrived at the ward.
Ji Renyi looked down at his younger brother and finally spoke: "Do you know what you did wrong?"
Ji Huaizhi tilted his head and responded softly, "Mm."
“Huaizhi, Officer Li Feng just told me that you are not a bad person, you just want to attract our attention because you are afraid that we will abandon you. He said that you are a very smart child and need to be properly guided.”
Ji Renyi's eyes reddened slightly: "You're my only family, why do you think like this?"
“Your sister-in-law gave up her previous job to come back and take care of you. Don’t you understand our good intentions?”
Ji Huaizhi stubbornly replied, "I didn't attract your attention."
Ji Renyi knew his temperament and originally wanted to teach him a lesson, but when he saw his hands, he remembered what the police had said.
They couldn't bear to hit or scold him.
“I hope you can truly realize your mistakes. Your sister-in-law is genuinely looking out for you; she's been taking care of everything for you personally.”
“She told me today that you risked your life to save those five people, and I’m very gratified. You will protect your sister-in-law, but I’m also very worried. I’m afraid you’ll get hurt. You are both the most important people in my life.”
"Brother knows you're a good kid."
This was the first time Ji Renyi had a heart-to-heart talk with him. He used to worry that he was cold, that he wasn't eating enough, or that he was being bullied.
I'm worried he might have psychological problems.
Ji Huaizhi looked up at his elder brother, his eyes filled with grievance and guilt.
"sorry."
Ji Huaizhi's voice was very soft.
“I hope you can protect yourself in the future and not put yourself and your family in danger.” Ji Renyi gently pushed him forward.
Just then, Qin Shuang seemed to sense something and looked up.
Seeing the excitement and joy in Ji Huaizhi's eyes: "Huaizhi, you're back!"
Qin's mother was pleased to see him: "What are you standing outside for? Come in!"
Ji Huaizhi was pulled in by Qin's mother.
He stood in front of the hospital bed with his head drooping, glancing at Qin Shuang's stomach.
"Are you alright?" Qin Shuang's gaze fell on his hand. "Does your hand still hurt? The gauze is all red, did the wound break?"
Ji Huaizhi was somewhat at a loss for words because of her concern.
My throat felt like it was blocked by something, and my eyelashes trembled slightly as I closed my eyes.
"sorry."
Everyone was stunned by his sudden apology, and then they saw him turn his head and let large tears fall.
"I'm sorry, it's all because of me that they came looking for us, and you almost got into trouble..."
Qin Shuang wasn't actually angry with him. Looking at his face, she took his injured hand.
With tears streaming down his face, he looked like a wounded puppy, completely unlike his usual unruly and arrogant self.
"Didn't you come to save me today too?"
Qin Shuang pursed her lips: "I thought that after I hit you, you would never talk to me again. If you don't like me controlling you in the future, you can have your brother talk to you about some things."
"Be more careful in the future; you can only know a person's face, not their heart."
Ji Huaizhi's tears fell even more fiercely.
"You... don't abandon me."
Qin Shuang was stunned: "What?"
Ji Renyi breathed a sigh of relief as he looked at the young man.
Fortunately, it's still manageable.
"Don't abandon me." Ji Huaizhi said like a puppy about to be abandoned, "Sister-in-law, I'm sorry."
"I didn't mean to."
Qin Shuang couldn't help but cry either. This kid...
Seeing their reaction, Qin's mother knew they had made up.
This child is young and doesn't understand much, but he knew to protect his sister-in-law in a dangerous situation, so he can still be taught a lesson.
"Alright, that's considered making up. From now on, Huaizhi will be obedient, and your sister-in-law won't abandon you."
“Your sister-in-law feels sorry for you. Every time she comes back, one out of every three sentences she says is about you,” Qin’s mother earnestly advised him.
This child grew up without parents, so he is somewhat extreme in his mind.
“You’re not young anymore. Try not to upset your sister-in-law now that she’s pregnant. She and your brother love you the most.”
"You could say that you are your brother and sister-in-law's first child."
Qin's mother's words eased the tension.
While Ji Renyi stayed at the hospital to take care of his wife, he touched Qin Shuang's belly and kissed her forehead.
"Qin Shuang, thank you."
“I’m not going to go out anymore. Although making money is important, I’m afraid that I won’t be there when you need me next time.”
"You have no idea how scared I was when I received the call."
"In this world, you and Huaizhi are the people I love the most."
Qin Shuang touched the man's prickly hair:
"Don't forget, I'm pregnant with another one."
Upon hearing this, Ji Renyi buried his head even deeper.

Ji Huaizhi went to school wearing his school uniform, and the bandage on his hand, combined with his unruly demeanor, made him look like a delinquent.
He attracted a lot of attention when he first entered the school.
I felt a weight on my back, and when I turned around, it was one of the original owner's good friends.
“You’ve finally come to school. You don’t know how boring it is for me and Liu Shuai without you.” Zhang Youwei put his arm around his shoulder.
Ji Huaizhi expressionlessly removed his hand: "Don't touch me."
Zhang Youwei didn't care about his indifference: "The old teacher has already told us about your family's situation."
"You're really awesome! You took on all five of them by yourself, and you didn't even call us to help. Liu Shuai and I would definitely be on your side!"
"When did you get that injury on your hand?"
Ji Huaizhi: "Hmm."
Zhang Youwei sighed: "I know it feels bad to be betrayed by your brother, but don't worry."
"Shuaizi and I will always be your brothers."
Ji Huaizhi sneered: "Thank you."
"You're welcome, we're all brothers!"
Zhang Youwei wanted to put his arm around his shoulder, but when he saw his hand, he put it down.
I was afraid of hurting him again.
"Ji Huaizhi, your girlfriend!"
Ji Huaizhi's expression cracked upon hearing this: "What did you say?"
Zhang Youwei asked, puzzled, "Your girlfriend? What's wrong?"
As soon as Ji Huaizhi turned his head, he saw a girl with bright red lips and deadpan eyeliner coming towards him.
"Huaizhi, are you alright? I was so worried about you."
Ji Huaizhi: "..."
"I'm also quite worried about myself."
Before the girl could say anything, Ji Huaizhi ran off.
She didn't even have time to give him the breakfast she had brought him.
"You seem to have scared my brother Ji." Zhang Youwei scratched his head.
"How could that be? You give him the breakfast for me, and tell him I'll go see him during my morning exercise break."
He handed him the things and turned to leave.
Ji Huaizhi breathed a sigh of relief when he arrived at the classroom. They hadn't mentioned that the original owner had a puppy love affair!
Zhang Youwei handed breakfast to Ji Huaizhi: "Jiang Xinyi said she'll come find you again during the break between classes."
Ji Huaizhi refused: "Take it. If she comes looking for me, just tell her I want to break up."
Ji Huaizhi pronounced the last four words very awkwardly.
Liu Shuai took the breakfast from Zhang Youwei's hand: "You helped her back then, and she's been clinging to you for so long. You should have broken up with her a long time ago."
"Class has started, the teacher is coming."
When the homeroom teacher came in, he greeted Ji Huaizhi briefly, then put his hands behind his back and began lecturing the class:
"I've said it countless times: don't hang out with people from outside the school, or you'll get into trouble."
“Ji Huaizhi from our class is a good example. The three of you treat others as good brothers, but others treat you as a performance indicator.”
"Ji Huaizhi, does your hand hurt?"
Ji Huaizhi: "It's alright."
"You're really something, taking on five people by yourself. No wonder you're the most feared person in our school."
The others chuckled twice upon hearing this.
"Alright, turn to Chapter 5..."
Forgetting what it felt like to be a student, Ji Huaizhi looked out the window.
Ji Huaizhi had good eyesight and noticed that a teacher in the opposite office had his hand on a female student's shoulder.
The female student took a step back in fear.
