Chapter 40: The Ex-Girlfriend Who Hates the Poor and Loves the Rich (9)
"Luoluo, why do you say that to me?" Su Yu looked at her sadly.
The moment Zhao Manman and the other person walked in, two tears slowly slid down her fair skin. Su Yu frowned, and her eyes seemed to be covered with a layer of mist.
"Xiaoyu, what are you doing..."
Seeing their confrontational posture, Zhao Manman and the other person stopped at the door, puzzled.
Until Su Yu burst into tears, without bothering to ask, the two of them quickly squeezed Bai Luo aside and surrounded Su Yu to comfort her.
"What's wrong? Why are you crying? Who bullied you?"
As he said this, he glanced at Bai Luo unconsciously, not ignoring what Su Yu had just said.
It's obvious whose side you're on.
Bai Luo opened his eyes wide and gritted his teeth in anger. That woman Su Yu was too pretentious.
She hastily distanced herself from the truth: "It wasn't me, she was just pretending. She was fine just now, but when she heard you guys came back she suddenly started crying. She did it on purpose, you were all fooled by her!"
Zhao Manman and the other two were stunned
Su Yu did not refute, but her tears flowed even harder.
She seemed extremely sad, crying silently, her lips bitten until they turned white. Such a forbearing attitude made people doubt the truthfulness of Bai Luo's words.
Zhao Manman was worried: "What's going on?"
Jin Yueyao also frowned: "Bai Luo, what are you talking about?"
"Xiaoyu, don't cry, did Bai Luo bully you?"
Bai Luo was so anxious that her face turned red. She was telling the truth, so why didn't anyone believe her?
Su Yu choked up and said, "Luoluo...Luoluo, she said I was pretending, saying that I... was hypocritical, that I was good at deceiving others with my innocent appearance, but in fact I was scheming..."
"I don't know what I did to make her think this way, but I have always been sincere to you and have never done anything to let you down. Why did she say that?"
Su Yu couldn't help sobbing.
When a beautiful woman sheds tears, it is most pitiful.
Zhao Manman believed Su Yu's words without much thought.
She raised her head and glared at Bai Luo: "Bai Luo, are you sick? How did Xiao Yu provoke you that you have to slander her like this?"
Jin Yueyao chimed in: "I think you are the one who is two-faced and scheming. You keep your head down and cower every day, as if someone has bullied you. I didn't expect you to say that about others behind their backs."
"And Xiaoyu is so good to you. She gives you snacks and brings you meals. She knows that your family is poor, so she always takes the initiative to get you an extra dish. You still say this about her. Do you have a conscience?"
The two of them were talking back and forth, and Bai Luo couldn't get a word in to refute.
Bai Luo was furious: "I...you! You were all deceived by her!"
She didn't say these words at all, Su Yu said them herself!
And the money for Su Yu’s meals was also given by Qi Huaizhi!
Bai Luo was almost crying with anger. Why didn’t anyone believe what she said?
Zhao Manman wanted to say something else when she was suddenly stopped by Su Yu.
"Forget it, Manman. This matter has nothing to do with you. You shouldn't be involved in it in the first place."
Su Yu looked at Bai Luo with fragile eyes: "Bai Luo, let's have a good talk. If it is because of me that you have such a misunderstanding, let's talk about it face to face. If it is indeed my fault, I will change. If not, you have to apologize to me."
Her eyes were slightly red and her voice was fragile.
Even though things have come to this, all I want is an apology.
Zhao Manman and the other man were so disappointed with their child. They thought it was so stupid. How could there be such a pure and kind girl!
They could only watch the two people leave the dormitory one after another. They wanted to follow them but were stopped by Su Yu. They could only worry in their hearts.
Bai Luo was pulled away by Su Yu.
The slender and weak hand was extremely strong and could not be shaken off. It forcibly dragged her to the open-air balcony at the end of the corridor.
"Let me go!"
Finally shaking off the hand, Bai Luo rubbed his wrist.
Although he looks so thin, he is surprisingly strong.
Su Yu turned around, leaned lightly against the fence, raised her hand to wipe away the tears from the corners of her eyes. Upon closer inspection, there was no trace of sadness or fragility on her face.
She blinked innocently.
"See? If you tell anyone, it will be like what happened just now. No one will believe you."
She always seems to be gentle and non-competitive, and you rarely see her have any major emotional fluctuations.
Bai Luo was shocked: "So you did it on purpose? Just to tell me this?"
Bai Luo looked at Su Yu as if she were a monster, with a look of shock on his face.
Su Yu smiled gently: "Not entirely."
"It's just a little warning."
She raised her eyes slightly, and her gaze swept over Bai Luo from top to bottom: "Bai Luo, you should understand that even if it was Huai Zhi who was here today, the person he would trust would only be me, not you, so don't do meaningless things. Just be a little transparent like before, isn't it good?"
Although he was reluctant to admit it, Bai Luo knew that what she said was true.
"But you accepted gifts from other men."
Bai Luo was not worthy of Qi Huai.
"It was the same before. You were already with Huaizhi, but you still accepted roses from others. This time he gave you a bracelet and you didn't refuse it. You even wore it on your hand openly. Don't you feel ashamed for doing this?"
Su Yu raised her eyebrows but did not deny it.
"Did you see that?"
Bai Luo nodded, clenched his fist and said indignantly: "Yes, not only did I see it, I also saw you asked him to put it on you personally. What would Huaizhi think if he knew?"
Su Yu was puzzled: "What does this have to do with Huai Zhi?"
She really seemed to be unable to figure this out.
"He gave me flowers and bracelets, it was all his own free will. He was willing to give them, so why can't I accept them?"
He is willing to give, why can't I accept it.
This sentence sounds familiar.
Bai Luo remembered that she had been so righteous when she admitted that the living expenses were given by Qi Huaizhi.
"The flowers are beautiful, and the bracelet is beautiful too. I like them very much. He is willing to give them to me and doesn't ask for anything in return. Why can't I accept them?"
Su Yu agrees with this view from the bottom of her heart. Just like the children in the welfare home, they can accept the gifts from kind people without hesitation, and they are happy and grateful and don’t know how to refuse, because they need help so much.
She did grow up in an orphanage.
I didn’t understand it when I was a child, and I still don’t understand it when I grew up. It’s only after I understood the ways of the world that I learned how to pretend and make false rejections.
Su Yu was very distressed, and after a moment she relaxed her brows: "Forget it, you guys are really complicated. Go away, and remember what I said just now, otherwise, I have a hundred ways to make you regret it."
"I mean what I say." She said in a gentle voice.
Bai Luo: “???” Who is this complicated person?
…
After this day, Bai Luo completely broke off relations with Su Yu, and was also excluded by the other two people in the dormitory.
Seeing how Su Yu was able to thrive in all interpersonal relationships, Bai Luo felt very uncomfortable.
She straightened her back consciously.
He took off his glasses and looked at his facial features in the mirror. They were not ugly at all, and the image of Su Yu with her long flowing hair emerged in his mind.
Bai Luo pursed her lips, unskillfully let down her heavy ponytail and pushed it forward. However, because her hair had been tied up for too long, it was wrinkled and not smooth at all.
Jin Yueyao accidentally saw this scene and sneered: "Ugly people are more likely to do bad things."
Bai Luo's body stiffened, and his straight back collapsed.
Su Yu glanced at her, but did not come to her rescue as she did before. She withdrew her gaze and continued reading.
