Chapter 154: The Cold-hearted Uncle’s Pampered Bag (4)

"Dad, is there anything I can help you with?"

Li Xia finished the homework assigned by school. She went into the kitchen and saw Li's father busy at work. She rolled up her sleeves and prepared to help.

Father Li was processing a pile of crabs and prawns.

Crabs need to be scrubbed one by one, and so do prawns, and the blue veins at their tails have to be pulled out.

In the past, Mr. Li never had to do housework, and all these housework were done by the nanny.

After he went bankrupt, he began to learn to take care of his daughter himself.

He learned these little life common sense tips little by little by going to the vegetable market.

Just like why prawns need their heads cut off and their tendons removed, Father Li doesn’t understand why either?

He just knew that everyone did that.

Since everyone is using this method to deal with it, there must be a reason for its existence.

Father Li heard footsteps behind him. He turned his head and saw Li Xia. He asked casually, "Xiao Xia, have you finished your homework?"

He often heard from parents in the parent group that helping their children with homework caused chaos at home every day.

Li Xia never let him worry about this.

Every day when she comes back, she will actively complete the homework she brought back from school.

There was no need for him to mention it at all.

He had only heard of tutoring so far, but he had never experienced the kind of anger-inducing experience that other parents talked about.

"I'm done. They're all simple questions, no big deal."

Li Xia nodded.

For her, elementary school students' questions can be completed in minutes.

"Xiao Xia thinks it's easy, which means you listened to the teacher carefully during class."

When Li Xia heard this, her eyebrows flickered, then she blinked and nodded slightly.

The elementary school teachers’ methods of explaining questions were too childish. Every time she listened to the teachers’ lectures, she felt drowsy, as if she was listening to Tang Monk chanting sutras.

But he didn't dare tell the truth to Li's father.

Otherwise, she couldn't explain it to him.

If Mr. Li knew that I didn't pay attention in class but finished the exercises so quickly and with a high accuracy rate, he would become suspicious.

"I don't need your help. Go to the living room and watch cartoons. Dad will finish it soon. These things smell too fishy and will pinch your hands, so don't touch them." Father Li said.

"Okay, then I'll serve the food once dad is done."

I feel a little embarrassed to eat ready-made Li Xia.

She thought about getting some work done.

"No, no, just go watch TV and leave these things to Dad."

Father Li waved his hand.

Seeing this, Li Xia stopped insisting and said, "Thank you for your hard work, Dad."

"It's not hard. Dad is willing to do it."

An hour later.

"The dinner is ready!"

Father Li came out of the kitchen holding a plate of golden and crispy hairy crabs.

"Wow! Dad is so awesome!" Li Xia looked at the table full of delicious food. Her mouth kept secreting saliva and she didn't have time to swallow it.

"As long as Xiaoxia likes it." Father Li handed Lixia a pair of chopsticks. "Xiaoxia, try it and see if the saltiness is right."

"OK."

Li Xia nodded and reached out to take the chopsticks from Li's father.

She first picked up a braised prawn that looked very appetizing, and after taking a bite, her taste buds enjoyed a feast.

“How does it taste?”

Father Li asked.

Li Xia's little mouth was stuffed with shrimps. She couldn't open her mouth to answer, so she gave a thumbs up to Li's father.

She usually just makes do with her meals when she's alone at home.

Li's father's new company has just gotten on track, and he has a lot of social engagements, so he goes out early and comes back late every day.

Every morning when Li Xia was still asleep, Li's father would go out.

When he came back at night, Li Xia had already washed up early and fell asleep, having a tryst with Zhou Gong.

In the past six months, the father and daughter have had very few opportunities to spend time together face to face like they did today.

“Cough cough cough…”

"Slow down, slow down. No one is going to snatch it from you. If you like it, Daddy will make it for you often in the future."

Li Xia accidentally choked.

Upon seeing this, Li's father hurriedly walked behind Li Xia and gently patted her on the back.

“Dad, I…”

"Okay, stop talking, be careful not to choke again."

When Li Xia heard what his father said, he immediately realized that he had been misunderstood.

She moved her lower lip, wanting to explain.

But Li's father did not give her a chance.

Li Xia had just opened her mouth to say something when her father interrupted her.

Her image as a little greedy cat has been completely established.

Now I can't even explain myself for jumping into the Yellow River.

"Xiao Xia, when Dad came back today, why did he see a subletting notice posted at Brother Yan Xi's house?"

While peeling shrimp for Li Xia, Li's father started asking questions.

His concentration was all on his hands, and he only occasionally raised his eyes to look at Li Xia.

Li Xia blinked her eyes, "Dad doesn't know yet? That's right, Dad goes out early and comes back late every day, it's normal for him not to know."

"What don't you know? Is there anything I should know?"

Father Li said in confusion.

"It's been sublet. Dad, you saw it with your own eyes. How could you not guess it?" Li Xia shrugged.

Generally, when you rent a house, you will live there for at least a year.

Yan Xi's family had only lived there for half of the time when they suddenly decided to move out. Perhaps the only option left for them was to sublet the house.

"Is their family leaving?" said Li's father.

When Yan Xi and the original owner first met, Li's father was taking care of her full-time in the house during that time.
