Chapter 16: The Cold Buddhist Fell from the Altar (16)

"Buddha Liaochen, are you looking for me?"

Li Xia walked a little fast and breathed slightly.

Liaochen held Buddhist beads in his hand, placed one hand on his chest, and stood sideways.

He was extremely tall, with an impeccable and handsome profile. He was dressed in a white monk's robe, and his body was straight. The morning light shining on him seemed to be coated with Buddha's light, making him look like a banished immortal.

When Liaochen heard the familiar footsteps, he turned around slightly, his clothes fluttering.

He strode towards Li Xia, "But is there something going on at home?"

Lechen naturally raised his slender hands and tucked the loose hair behind her ears.

He remembered the maid beside Li Xia, who looked flustered as she held the letter from home.

Li Xia was a little uncomfortable with Chen's sudden approach, and she subconsciously took a step back.

Liaochen took advantage of the situation and grabbed Li Xia's sleeve, and the two looked into each other's eyes.

Li Xia saw monks passing by from time to time. She tugged at her sleeves and said in a low voice, "Buddhists should respect themselves."

They are in a holy place of Buddhism and must strictly observe the precepts that distinguish between men and women.

Lechen curled his lips, a hint of playfulness appeared on his cold face, "Self-respect?"

He chuckled as if he heard a joke.

I don't know who lost his composure and took action that day.

Now he is being asked to respect himself in a serious manner.

Throw away after use?

Women can be really heartless.

Li Xia heard Chen's low laughter, her shoulders trembled uncontrollably, and cold sweat broke out on her palms.

He was clearly smiling, but there was no trace of smile in his eyes.

"You are avoiding me." Lechen used a statement tone, not asking Lixia.

Li Xia blinked, confused by this false accusation.

"Why should I hide from Buddha?" she wondered.

If I really wanted to avoid him, why would I come to see him?

Liaochen lowered his eyes and stared at Li Xia's eyes, and said without blinking: "After that incident, you have been staying indoors all the time."

There was a subtle hint of awkwardness in his voice.

Li Xia understood immediately after hearing this.

The tips of her ears turned red, and she spoke in a voice as soft as a mosquito: "My legs were sore those days."

In order to increase the chance of conception, Li Xia lay on a mattress and pillow for two days.

When Lechen realized that Li Xia was not deliberately avoiding him, the depression in his heart eased a little.

His hand moved inch by inch to Li Xia's slender wrist, and his slightly calloused fingertips stopped there and gently stroked it.

Li Xia shrank her neck and shuddered. She twitched her hand and said, "Itchy..."

"Spoiled." Lechen glanced at her.

No one knows better than him how sensitive this body is.

Liaochen knew that Li Xia was thin-skinned, so he stopped teasing her and let her withdraw her hand.

"I have broken the precepts and am no longer a Buddhist. Liaochen is my Buddhist name. When we are alone in the future, you can call me Ah Heng, Wang Xingheng."

Li Xia was stunned.

She raised her head and stared at Lechen blankly.

His face was as cold as ever, and it was hard to imagine that those words came from his mouth.

"Whether you believe it or not, what I said in the cave that day was not impulsive." Lechen said with bright eyes.

He didn't mean to hide his identity.

It's just that the time is not right yet.

If I tell her, I'm afraid it will scare her.

He didn't want her to think that he was responsible for her because of that unexpected night.

I truly cherish her.

He would let her marry him with honor and give her a status that all women in the world envied.

β€”β€”β€”

Two days later.

A man in blue came to Lianhua Temple, revealed his identity, and asked to see Li Xia.

The young monk guarding the temple gate learned that the two were cousins, so he led the man into the reception hall of the temple.

"Please wait here, benefactor. I will go and inform benefactor Li right away." The young monk clasped his hands together and said.

Buddhism has strict rules and regulations.

Donor Li is currently practicing in the Lianhua Temple, living in the backyard of the temple.

Out of precepts.

He could not lead the male donor to the backyard.

Chu Ziyu raised his hand and piously returned the greeting, "Thank you, Master."

As soon as he learned that his cousin's health had improved, he rushed to the Li Mansion.

I didn't expect that no matter how hard I tried, I would still be a step behind.

His cousin left the house before him.

His uncle and aunt let him stay at their house and wait for his cousin to return.

He was afraid that something unexpected might happen, so he decided to go to Lianhua Temple in person.

Li Xia and Ruyan followed the little monk and walked into the living room with him as the guide.

"Donor Li, this donor claims to be Donor Li's cousin."

The little monk pointed at the man in green.

Li Xia nodded and said, "The person in front of me is indeed my daughter's cousin."

"In that case, the two donors can enjoy the old times here. I will leave first." The young monk walked out of the guest hall.

"Cousin, I'm relieved to see that you are safe."

The moment Chu Ziyu saw Li Xia, the surprise in his eyes quickly disappeared.

He had always known that his cousin was stunningly beautiful.

I just didn't expect that she could be so stunning now that she is no longer sickly.

When Chu Ziyu looked at Li Xia.

Li Xia also cast a scrutinizing glance at him.

The man was tall, dressed in a blue shirt with fluttering sleeves, had a clear face, an elegant temperament, and was full of bookish air.

His eyes were gentle, but Li Xia felt a little uncomfortable for some reason.

She felt that Chu Ziyu was not as simple as he seemed.

Li Xia remained calm. She bowed politely but distantly, "Thank you, cousin Ziyu, for your concern."

The original owner was not familiar with him.

It also saved her the trouble of pretending to deal with him.

"Cousin, I have heard from my uncle and aunt that their kindness can move the heavens."
