She slowly removed the massage device, tidied the cord, and put it back in her workstation drawer.
Having not gotten up for a long time, Gu Qingqiu felt her bones cracking. She slowly walked to the bathroom, intending to turn on the tap to wash her face, but froze when she looked up at the mirror. The reason was simple: a pair of glasses appeared on her face, glasses that didn't belong to her.
Gu Qingqiu doesn't have nearsightedness or presbyopia, and she wouldn't wear sunglasses late at night. In short, she would never buy any glasses-related items. Yet, these unfamiliar glasses suddenly appeared on her face.
Gu Qingqiu felt her heart beating fast. Working overtime had made her mind somewhat hazy, as if her thoughts were a jumbled mess. There seemed to be a clue hidden within, but she couldn't quite make it out for the moment.

Gu Qingqiu turned her head and glanced at the dark office outside the bathroom. That person was probably nearby.
The unknown and fear were taking a toll on Gu Qingqiu's already sensitive and fragile nerves. She put her glasses on the sink, then ran back to her workstation to grab her bag. She wasn't going to work overtime anymore; it was too late, too dark, and she was terrified. At worst… she'd just say she was seriously ill and couldn't submit her work on time. Even if the company fired her, she'd accept it. She couldn't bear to be alone here any longer!
She ran quickly out of the office. The corridor was dark, with only the elevator floor buttons casting a faint glow.
Gu Qingqiu pressed the "down" button on all three elevators as quickly as possible, then anxiously watched the floor numbers on the elevators rise little by little.
Too slow...too slow...
The wait was agonizing. Gu Qingqiu paced back and forth impatiently, inwardly complaining about why her office was on the 24th floor.
While waiting, Gu Qingqiu unconsciously glanced around, but that casual glance almost made her faint – at the end of the corridor, there was a blurry, tall, dark figure that seemed to be watching her.
