After a while, Qiao Qiu snapped out of her reverie and found Gao Meng staring blankly, which amused her. She got up, sat down beside her, and asked, "Mengmeng, what are you thinking about? You seem so engrossed."
Gao Meng snapped out of her daze and subconsciously turned her head. When she saw the enlarged face in front of her, she froze.
Qiao Qiu was stunned when she saw her turn around. The two were so close that they could feel each other's breath.
Gao Meng's face turned red instantly.
Qiao Qiu blinked, considering whether or not to give him a kiss?
Before she could make up her mind, Gao Meng felt as if she had been pricked by a needle and jumped up and took a step back.
Qiao Qiu's lips twitched. Was she a monster? Was she really that scary?
All the romantic feelings vanished instantly. Qiao Qiu stood up and put the guqin back in its case. Then, as if nothing had happened, she said, "Mengmeng, I have to keep my promise to paint these next few days. After thinking it over, I decided to give you a surprise. I'm going home to paint now. Call me for lunch."
Qiao Qiu picked up the guqin and was almost at the door when Gao Meng finally responded, "Okay."
Only after Qiao Qiu had completely disappeared from her sight did Gao Meng manage a bitter smile. Even though she had never experienced love before, her own heart had just told her everything. She had fallen for Qiao Qiu, and it was an incurable, irreversible love.
However, Qiao Qiu liked boys, and Gao Meng could not forget how deeply Qiao Qiu loved Zhou Nan.
If only she were a boy, now that Qiao Qiu has broken up, she could take advantage of the situation, pursue her openly, treat her even better, and look at her without having to hide her gaze.
Gao Meng touched her hair, and suddenly she didn't like her hairstyle anymore.
As Qiao Qiu walked home after leaving Gao Meng's house, she carefully considered Gao Meng's behavior. It was clear she had fallen for him, but couldn't believe it.
Actually, it would be better to lay things out on the table, but Qiao Qiu was a little worried that this was too abrupt and Gao Meng wouldn't be able to accept it.
Let's take it slow.
After returning home, Qiao Qiu began to paint as she had instructed.
However, she hadn't been drawing for long when she felt a sharp pain in her lower abdomen. Having been a woman for thousands of years, Qiao Qiu immediately understood what was happening.
He rushed out of the art studio and ran into the bathroom.
After a while, Qiao Qiu came out, leaning against the door and clutching her stomach. Oh no, she had menstrual cramps!
Painting was out of the question, so Qiao Qiu poured herself a cup of hot water, endured the pain, mixed some brown sugar, placed it on the coffee table, and then went to her room to get a blanket.
Qiao Qiu nestled on the sofa, covered herself with a blanket, and slowly drank her brown sugar water.
Fortunately, her sofa is a very large one; it could comfortably seat over twenty people. The color scheme is sky blue, which looks very warm.
It was soon noon when Gao Meng called. Qiao Qiu, nestled on the sofa, suddenly felt a little regretful.
What normally seems like a short distance now appears exceptionally far to Qiao Qiu.
"Mengmeng, I'm on my period, and my stomach hurts so much. Can you bring the food to my house for us to eat?"
Qiao Qiu's voice was not as powerful as usual; it was soft, like she was being coquettish, and lacked strength.
Gao Meng knew that Qiao Qiu didn't often act coquettishly, and when she did, something was definitely wrong. Hearing her weak and listless voice, she felt extremely distressed. She immediately said, "Qiuqiu, wait a moment, I'll be right there."
"Okay." Qiao Qiu hung up the phone, hugged the hot water bottle, and continued to lie on the bed, flipping through TV programs.
A few minutes later, the door opened and Gao Meng walked in carrying a lunchbox.
Qiao Qiu raised an eyebrow. At such a speed, they must have run here, right?
Gao Meng put down her lunchbox, sat down beside her, and asked worriedly, "Qiuqiu, how are you feeling now?"
"I'll be fine if I lie down, but I can't move around much," Qiao Qiu replied obediently.
Gao Meng breathed a slight sigh of relief. "It's good that you're alright. I brought the food. Luckily, I didn't put anything spicy in it today."
Qiao Qiu's menstrual cycle wasn't very regular, and Gao Meng was also a bit unsure. She had originally wanted to take her to the hospital for a checkup, but Qiao Qiu absolutely refused to go. Gao Meng had no choice but to let her be.
Qiao Qiu nodded. She knew that once she arrived here, she wouldn't be able to handle spicy or cold food.
Gao Meng set out the food and then went to Qiao Qiu's kitchen to get two bowls and two pairs of chopsticks.
Qiao Qiu sat cross-legged, placed the hot water bottle on her stomach, held the bowl, and began to eat.
Gao Meng noticed that it was difficult for her to pick up food, so she kept putting food on her plate.
Qiao Qiu quickly finished eating; the hot food eased her stomach pain.
Qiao Qiu removed the hot water bottle, stood up in her slippers, and smiled at Gao Meng, "Mengmeng, I don't hurt anymore."
"It's good that it doesn't hurt." Gao Meng smiled as she cleared away the bowls and chopsticks.
Qiao Qiu walked around the living room for a while, then poured the water from the hot water bottle into a basin she had specially prepared in the bathroom to use for flushing the toilet.
Having experienced the apocalypse, Qiao Qiu still dislikes wasting water resources.
After filling the water container, Qiao Qiu returned to the sofa and soon began to feel drowsy.
I always feel sleepy at midday in the summer.
When Gao Meng came out, she saw Qiao Qiu's head nodding little by little, as if it was about to fall over. She laughed silently.
In the end, Qiao Qiu couldn't resist the call of sleep and curled up on the sofa to sleep.
Gao Meng leaned against the door and watched Qiao Qiu for a while. Only after Qiao Qiu had completely fallen asleep did she walk over, sit down beside her, and look at her sleeping face.
When Qiao Qiu finally woke up, she looked around and saw Gao Meng sitting above her, drawing on a drawing board.
Her noise disturbed Gao Meng, who stopped drawing and turned to look at her. "Does your stomach hurt?"
Qiao Qiu shook her head. "It doesn't hurt."
"Would you like something to eat?" Gao Meng asked again.
Qiao Qiu laughed, "You really treat me like a pig. Once my period is over, I'll start going for a run in the morning."
"You said it yourself, so you can't regret it when I come to pull you out of bed," Gao Meng said with a smile.
Qiao Qiu stretched like a cat, "No regrets."
Although Qiao Qiu's physique was average, she hadn't lost her martial arts skills. Despite lacking internal energy, her agility was still unmatched by most. Running was a piece of cake for her.
"Qiuqiu, what do you like to do the most?" Gao Meng felt like she had never asked her this question before. Qiao Qiu lived a life of complete indifference to the world. Despite having such good painting skills, she didn't care about them at all.
"I like playing games. I want to master a hero to the top of the national server and then stream it." Qiao Qiu smiled with her eyes narrowed. She wanted to follow the male lead's path and leave him with nowhere to go.
