Chapter Thirty: Finding a Baby Zombie (Part 8)

Tsk, I remember that time he died a pretty horrible death too. He took a bullet for the female lead and then died in a car crash.

If she hadn't been cursed and forced to block, with her driving skills, how could she not have dodged it?

Qiao Qiu slowed the car down to normal speed and glanced at Su Xi. The little kid's eyes widened; although he was surprised, he wasn't frightened.

"What do you think?"

Su Xi touched the car window. "This thing is really good, it can go so fast. But it's too noisy."

Qiao Qiu laughed and said, "You're quite picky. But you have the right to be picky."

Su Xi knew what she meant, her gaze calmly fixed ahead, "My speed..."

"Hmm? How's your speed?" Su Xi didn't finish her sentence, and Qiao Qiu didn't hear it.

"Are we almost at Nancheng?"

Qiao Qiu glanced in the direction it was looking and nodded, "It's about a ten-minute drive away."

"When will you come out again after you return to the city?"

“Three months.” Qiao Qiu’s eyes darkened.

“So long…” Su Xi’s expression was somewhat forlorn.

"I plan to take control of Nancheng within three months."

Su Xi looked at her abruptly, surprised, "You want to take control of Nancheng in three months?"

"Yes," Qiao Qiu replied affirmatively.

"Why?"

"Because I don't like the feeling of being controlled, if this apocalyptic situation cannot be changed, then I will be the one who controls these four cities."

“If we could change things…” Su Xi lowered her head, her tone somewhat unreadable.

"If I could change things, I would eventually let go of the decision I made today."

"Why?" Su Xi looked up at her, her gaze calm.

"Didn't I just say I love freedom? When the world is at peace, won't all that's left be the power struggles between regimes? At that time, rather than being bound by power, I'd rather travel the world."

"Sister, you love freedom so much, so if someone is with you, wouldn't that be considered a constraint?" Su Xi's eyes are very beautiful, even more captivating than Bai Wei's. When her eyes are slightly narrowed, they resemble gentle sunlight, tender and warm.

Qiao Qiu thought of Zhao Yuce, and the corners of her mouth unconsciously curled up. "How am I supposed to get along with this person? The person I'm with won't use anything to bind me, and will even help me deal with those who want to bind me."

"I understand." Su Xi looked ahead thoughtfully.

At this moment, Qiao Qiu pulled the car over to the side of the road. "Su Xi, this is the only way we can drive. Can you drive?"

Su Xi shook her head. "I don't know how. I'll just call Bai Wei over to drive it away later."

Qiao Qiu turned to look at it, her eyes serious. "Su Xi, don't tell anyone you're ten years old anymore."

"Huh?" Su Xi didn't react when the topic suddenly shifted to this.

“Look at him from top to bottom, left to right, he’s only five or six years old. Saying he’s ten is just a lie.”

Su Xi's lips twitched, but she didn't say anything.

"You're not the first person to lie to me, but you're the first person I don't want to hold a grudge against."

Su Xi's heart skipped a beat, "I'm not human..."

"I'm just used to it. Whether you're a person or not, you're the same to me. Su Xi, if you want to lie to me in the future, don't be so obvious. It makes you look stupid." Qiao Qiu thought for a moment and took off the bracelet on her wrist. The bracelet was made of silver and could be worn by both men and women.

Qiao Qiu wiped her hand on it, removing her mark. She took Su Xi's hand and slipped the bracelet onto it. The bracelet automatically shrank to a size that fit Su Xi, resting securely on her wrist.

Su Xi glanced inside and said, "I don't need this."

"Su Xi, I don't think you have much affection for zombies, otherwise I wouldn't have put this on your wrist. Use it whenever you want. I believe no one can take this bracelet from you, so just keep it. If you don't want it anymore one day, just throw it away."

After saying that, Qiao Qiu opened the car door and got out.

Seeing that she was about to leave, Su Xi got out of the car as well, ran up to her, and looked up at her.

Qiao Qiu squatted down to meet its eye level and said, "Su Xi, take care. Nancheng will be very tense during this time. Don't come in unless necessary, okay?"

Every word was filled with concern, and Su Xi nodded emphatically.

Qiao Qiu touched its cheek and laughed, "Alright, I'm leaving now."

Su Xi nodded.

Qiao Qiu stood up, summoned a gentle breeze, which lifted her body and carried her into the 'green belt'.

The car was parked in a place where people inside the 'green belt' couldn't see her. Before Qiao Qiu even flew inside, Su Xi could no longer see her.

Su Xi withdrew her gaze and lowered her eyes. Her fingertips traced the patterns on the silver bracelet, where Qiao Qiu's warmth still lingered.

After a while, it raised its head, looked at the sky, and squinted its eyes slightly.

It's all alone again, and it feels a little strange.

Su Xi turned and left, casually conjuring a jade flute, holding it to her lips, her pale but strong slender fingers pressing on the flute as she walked and played.

The music is like a clear stream, pure and clean, with a smooth, flowing minor key, free and unrestrained, giving one the feeling of walking on a country road and hearing a shepherd boy playing his flute.

A few minutes later, a figure rushed over from a distance, landing behind it in a few swift movements.

This is a very handsome man with feminine features, almond-shaped eyes and red lips. Apart from his short hair, Adam's apple, and flat chest, which prove he is a man, he looks like a woman in every other way.

This man is also a zombie, and a high-level one at that.

"Xi, I was being intimate with my lover, and you called me here at this time. It's really inconsiderate of you," the man complained.

Su Xi slowly put away her flute and said unhurriedly, "Every time you get intimate, you turn people into zombies. I'm doing you a good deed by calling you here."

"Same recipe, same heart-wrenching experience," the man said, clutching his chest.

"Feng Yi, call Bai Wei over and have her drive the off-road vehicle away from Tiangu Town," Su Xi said as she walked.

"An off-road vehicle? When did you start treating it so well?" Feng Yi asked curiously as he followed behind it.

"That car originally belonged to him."

"You stole its car?" Feng Yi found it even more unbelievable. "When did you learn to drive, sir?"

Su Xi stopped and looked back at it, her gaze sharp and unlike that of a six-year-old child.

Feng Yi took two steps back, swallowed hard, and chuckled, "If it wasn't you driving, then it must be someone else..." At this point, Feng Yi seemed to have discovered something incredible, "Xi, you actually stole Bai Wei's car and let someone else drive it, that's not like you at all. I've never seen you bully Bai Wei for anyone. Who was that person? A man or a woman?"

Su Xi withdrew her gaze and said, "What does it matter?"
