Chapter Twenty-Six: Finding a Baby Zombie (Part Four)

The handsome man smiled at her and gave a Western-style bow. "I feel an instant connection with you. May I invite you for a cup of tea?"

"No, I'm tired and want to rest." Although Qiao Qiu thought dating a handsome guy would be exciting, what if he turned out to be the one she didn't want to meet? Wouldn't that be a disaster?

The handsome man was taken aback by her quick refusal. He paused for a moment, then smiled and said, "Then I won't disturb your rest any longer. Here's my business card. You can come see me anytime."

A business card was shoved into Qiao Qiu's hand. She tried to return it, but the handsome man strode away.

She picked up the business card, looked at it, nodded in agreement, and then threw it into the trash can.

She is Qiao Qiu, not Feng Yin. Just because Feng Yin knows nothing doesn't mean she knows nothing. Now that she knows, she will absolutely not have any involvement with Luo Mu.

Picking up girls? Go pick up your big-headed devil.

Qiao Qiu had no good feelings towards the Luo brothers. One was the direct murderer of Feng Yin, and the other was the indirect murderer of Feng Yin.

Holding the access card, Qiao Qiu went straight to her room.

After closing the door, Qiao Qiu went into the bathroom first. While taking off her clothes, she looked Feng Yin up and down.

She had an oval face, baby fat, and skin as white as snow. Her eyes still held her own gaze, bright and spirited. But her pert, well-defined nose and naturally red lips were no longer hers.

Feng Yin was a beauty, a petite, slender woman with classic Chinese features. Aside from her small bust, Qiao Qiu was very satisfied with her. At least she was of Chinese descent, unlike Luo Mu, who was neither entirely Chinese nor Western. Nor was she like that little vampire, a pure foreign mixed-race.

After taking a shower, Qiao Qiu took out a set of beige pajamas from her spatial storage and put them on.

Seeing the color of the clothes, Qiao Qiu thought of Su Xi wearing beige casual clothes, and thought to herself that this little vampire had a good eye for fashion, and that she also liked this color.

"Sister, you're out."

Upon hearing that familiar, soft, and endearing voice, Qiao Qiu's hand trembled as she closed the bathroom door.

She turned her head, and Su Xi, who had been sitting on the bed, was instantly in front of her. His two small tiger teeth turned into long fangs, and his eyes changed from black to dark blue.

"Oh my god, calm down, biting is a very bad thing for a child."

Qiao Qiu wanted to run away, but the little vampire had just proven that he was faster than her.

Su Xi stuck out her pink tongue and licked her bright red lips, her eyes turning cold as she grabbed her hand. "Didn't you say you were quick to abandon me?"

The icy little hand felt like a frozen pair of pliers clamping onto Qiao Qiu's wrist, making her shiver. "Wait, I want to ask you a few questions."

Su Xi leaned forward, her movement of opening her mouth paused, a glint of light flashing in her deep blue eyes, "What's the problem?"

Do you have a normal body temperature?

Yes, I have.

Have you ever felt a heartbeat?

Yes, I have.

Have you ever smelled the fragrance of flowers?

"I've smelled it."

Can you see the color of the sky?

"My patience has its limits."

Have you ever shed a tear? Is there anyone in this world who loves you and is willing to die for you?

"..."

Qiao Qiu had seen this line on TV before, and she thought it was perfect for asking this kid. Since he was either going to die or turn into a zombie anyway, she might as well find out first. If neither of those options were available, she might as well just die.

As for the last question, she asked it smoothly, but she didn't expect that after asking it, the little devil stopped moving, and a sense of sadness lingered around him.

Su Xi straightened up, her eyes returned to their original color, her sharp fangs retracted, and her body temperature instantly returned to normal. She released her hand, turned around, walked to the window, and stood there, looking out the window, seemingly lost in thought.

Qiao Qiu breathed a sigh of relief. After seeing the little devil grow fangs, she suddenly wasn't afraid anymore, probably because she didn't think it was that scary.

"Go away, I won't bite you anymore."

Qiao Qiu leaned against the wall and laughed, "This is a room I paid for, and you actually want me to leave? Shouldn't you be the one leaving?"

"If you don't leave, I'll bite you." Su Xi turned her head, revealing fangs and blue eyes.

Qiao Qiu walked over and slapped him on the head, "You're so young and you're already learning bad habits. Who taught you to be so fickle?"

Su Xi was stunned by the slap; its eyes involuntarily turned back to normal, and its fangs retracted. It looked up, puzzled, and asked, "Aren't you afraid of me?"

"If you bite me, the worst that can happen is I'll turn into a zombie or die. Dying instantly won't scare me anymore. You're not scary-looking, so why should I be afraid of you?"

"Aren't you afraid of turning into a zombie?"

“I’m afraid it will turn into a mess, but I can accept something like yours.”

Su Xi lowered her head and looked outside. "You are very different from those humans."

"What did you just remember? I thought you were about to bite me, why did you suddenly stop?"

"I can grant your wish."

Su Xi was about to change again, and Qiao Qiu slapped him on the forehead again, "Don't you get tired of changing all the time?"

"If you hit me again, I'll..."

"So what? If you don't want people to know you're a zombie, then stay put."

Su Xi seemed to give in, raising her hands to rub her forehead, which had been slapped, and frowned as she replied, "Because you remind me of my mother."

Qiao Qiu was stunned and didn't say anything, but just rubbed its forehead.

Su Xi lowered her hand and continued in a muffled voice, "My mother has been dead for a long time, so long that I hardly remember what she looked like. Just now, when you asked me a question, I remembered her and felt again how heartbroken she was when she died for me. For that, I'm willing to let you go."

“I should thank her,” Qiao Qiu smiled. “How old are you exactly this year?”

Su Xi glanced at her. "What? I don't have a fiancée."

"Pfft—" Qiao Qiu burst out laughing. This kid's thinking was indeed different from ordinary people.

Is it that funny?

"Thank goodness." Qiao Qiu took out clothes from the bracelet's spatial storage, turned around and went to the bathroom. "Don't peek."

A short while later, Qiao Qiu changed her clothes, took her pajamas and came out, saying to Su Xi, "You stay in the room, I'll go get another room."

"You're not allowed to go." Su Xi grabbed her hand.

Qiao Qiu tried to pull it out, but couldn't. The kid was quite strong. "Although you look like a child, you're an adult inside. We're of different genders, so we can't sleep in the same room."

“Who said I’m an adult?” Su Xi asked.

"Didn't you say that yourself?"

“I was only four years old when my mother passed away, and now it has been just four or five years.”

"You should have said so earlier, it would have saved you money." Qiao Qiu turned around with the clothes in her hand, but didn't move. She looked back and saw that her hand was still being held. "Let go."

“It’s only a little past noon. If you go and change it again, you’ll have to change it again when you get hungry. You don’t seem like a very diligent person.”

"I..." Qiao Qiu, caught off guard, had no words to refute. She simply threw her clothes on the bed, glared at it, and said, "You're coming with me to buy food."
