Chapter 466 The Empress's Harem Rules 46

The next day.

Fu Sang woke up groggily and subconsciously said, "Lin Xian."

Footsteps echoed through the palace.

The female official Lianxiang walked over quickly and bowed, saying, "Your Majesty, you are awake."

Fu Sang opened one eye and asked, "Where is Lin Xian?"

Lianxiang replied, "The Empress returned to Yingyue Palace last night and sent someone over this morning to ask for leave, saying that she is not feeling well."

Fu Sang suddenly became much more lucid.

"What happened to Lin Xian?"

Seeing that His Majesty seemed completely unaware, Lianxiang quickly said, "Your Majesty, it was the Empress who escorted you back to your palace last night."

When Fu Sang remembered that he had been caught cheating, his heart skipped a beat.

Good heavens, the little darling actually let her go?

But in the following days...

Fu Sang tried to see Jiang Linxian, but each time he was turned away by the servants.

After all, she was in the wrong first.

Fu Sang wrote several letters and sent them to Yingyue Palace. The letters were filled with longing and apology, and he promised never to look at another man again.

The servant brought news that the Empress Dowager had accepted it.

However, there was still no response.

Finally, Fu Sang got his chance. Hearing that the Empress had recently enjoyed boating on the lotus pond in the Imperial Garden, he hurriedly led his men to try and catch a glimpse of her.

The vast Imperial Garden is divided into several areas.

One area was planted with lotus flowers, and the entire lotus pond was filled with delicate pink blossoms and emerald green lotus leaves.

A gentle breeze swept across the lotus pond, where green and white intertwined, creating ripples of green. The scenery was delightful, with a small boat floating on the lake.

Fu Sang, riding in a small boat, quickly caught up with Jiang Linxian's small boat.

Sitting in the light boat, Jiang Linxian saw her catching up and said "Your Majesty" in a calm tone.

The light boats used in the palace were different from the awning boats; they provided shade, soft couches, tables, and all sorts of other items.

Two jade cups were placed on the table, and the teapot was placed in a bowl of ice.

Fu Sang sat down in front of him, looked at the boy holding the book in his hand, and said, "Lin Xian, it's been several days since we last met. Have you missed me?"

The lake's surface is as clear as a round mirror, the environment is serene, surrounded by beautiful flowers, and the air is filled with a faint floral fragrance.

This scenario is best suited for two people to be alone together.

Upon hearing her words, Jiang Linxian's long, raven-feather-like eyelashes trembled slightly.

As the weather grew hotter, Fu Sang's throat became itchy, and he couldn't help but cough.

Jiang Linxian put down the book in her hand, stretched out her slender hand, picked up the teapot, and poured a cup of tea.

A beautiful jade cup was pushed in front of her: "Your Majesty, please have a cup of tea to quench your thirst."

Fu Sang picked up the teacup, took a sip, and stared at him without blinking.

Jiang Linxian lowered her eyelashes slightly, obscuring the light in her eyes.

The girl wrote letters to Qin Si, and he kept every single one of them in his bedchamber.

The frustration in my heart has dissipated, but I'm too proud to ask for reconciliation.

I took a leisurely boat ride on the lake early in the morning to clear my head, hoping she would come after me. Sure enough, she came over in her small boat.

Seeing that Jiang Linxian had poured him tea, Fu Sang realized that his anger had subsided.

She took a hairpin from her bosom, handed it to him, and said, "I carved this for you these past few days. Do you like it?"

An intricately carved wooden hairpin lay in the girl's hand.

Jiang Linxian's eyes flickered, and she couldn't help but reach out to pick up the wooden hairpin, her heart being touched to the softest spot.

The wooden hairpin still retained the warmth of her body and a faint lingering fragrance.

"Is this a wooden hairpin personally carved by His Majesty?"

"What?" Fu Sang asked, feigning anger. "You don't believe me?"

Jiang Linxian shook her head and said, "I'm just a little surprised."
