Chapter 60 (Extra): Humans and Demons, Different Paths, Same Destination.

Night fell over the city.

This beautiful city actually hides many dangers in the darkness.

A discreetly luxurious car was parked outside a villa.

Xiao Mu got out of the car.

The villa door opened by itself when no one was there.

He strode into the living room.

A handsome man sat on the sofa, holding a black cat in his arms.

"Sit." The man's voice was clear and cold, like jade.

Xiao Mu walked to the sofa and sat down, saying, "I'm here to apply for a marriage contract with a human."

Jing Lichuan's eyes suddenly darkened as he looked up at Xiao Mu: "You've fallen in love with a human?"

Xiao Mu nodded slightly and said, "I want to be with her."

Jing Lichuan was silent for a moment, then said, "You should know the conditions for marrying a human, right?"

Xiao Mu's gaze was firm as he said, "I know."

"Once a demon decides to marry a human."

Xiao Mu lowered his long, black eyelashes, the dim light falling on him, casting a silhouette beneath his eyes.

"A contract must be signed."

Time seemed to stand still, yet it also seemed not to; the sound of breathing was clearly audible.

"Once a contract is signed, it cannot be changed."

Jing Lichuan put the cat down, stood up, glanced at Xiao Mu, and his pleasant voice carried a hint of coldness.

"Once the contract is formed, the demon race cannot harm the lover, and even if the lover kills you, you cannot resist."

"More importantly... the demon race will be stripped of their magic power and become humans who will age and die, with a lifespan of no more than a hundred years."

Xiao Mu got up and followed behind Jing Lichuan, listening to his words, his voice still firm.

"I know."

Demons will not fall in love with humans, and humans dare not fall in love with demons.

Interracial relationships rarely end well.

The contract was meant to stifle the thoughts of the demon race; once one falls in love, it's equivalent to giving one's life for the other.

"Is the person you like the girl who gave her role to my wife at the banquet?"

Xiao Mu responded with a faint "yes".

The two entered the study.

Jing Lichuan pressed a button on the side of the tall bookcase, and a secret passage appeared instantly.

Eerie foxfire flickered on the walls, illuminating the path ahead.

The light elongated their shadows.

We walked for about a few minutes.

A spacious area came into view, resembling a huge cave, with rows of bookshelves.

Jing Lichuan waved his hand, and an ancient scroll flew over.

He reached out and took the ancient scroll in his hand, turned it open, revealing the golden characters inside.

"Once you sign the contract, there's no going back. Have you thought it through?"

Xiao Mu replied, "Let's begin."

Jing Lichuan, holding a pen, said, "Human hearts are fickle. Just because someone likes you now doesn't mean they'll like you in the future."

"If she changes her mind, she will abandon you and treat you like trash. You can't hurt her, otherwise you will be punished by law."

"Would you still be willing to do this?"

“I love her,” Xiao Mu said.

Jing Lichuan frowned slightly, threw out the brush, and with a loud bang, a burst of golden light suddenly descended from the sky.

Golden light enveloped Xiao Mu, surrounding him and drawing upon his power.

Xiao Mu couldn't help but kneel down, clutching his heart, his pupils flashing a deep blue light.

"Once the contract is completed, you will become an ordinary person."

I don't know how much time passed.

The excruciating pain has completely subsided.

Xiao Mujun's handsome face was pale as he struggled to stand up.

"Thanks."

Jing Lichuan picked up the black cat from the ground and said calmly, "As long as you don't regret it."

"No regrets." Xiao Mu's eyes overflowed with affection.
