It seems I've developed a serious problem with overthinking.
Xu Qiaoqiao shook her head, shaking away all the thoughts she had just been having.
The light emanating from Jun Qi was faint and intermittent, clearly indicating that he was gradually reaching his peak.
Maybe I should wait and see. After all, I'm bored because there's no one to talk to.
So Xu Qiaoqiao turned her gaze back to the sheepskin on the ground, trying to read it carefully. But things didn't go as planned; the writing was really hard to read. She stumbled and struggled to understand even one sentence, and it was all guesswork.
After watching for a few more minutes, Xu Qiaoqiao couldn't take it anymore. She figured she'd fall asleep if she kept watching, as she was already feeling drowsy.
Xu Qiaoqiao stared blankly at the sheepskin on the ground for a few seconds, then immediately rolled it up and put it aside, refusing to look at it anymore.
The sky outside gradually darkened, night quietly descended, and it was time to sleep.
Xu Qiaoqiao yawned, feeling increasingly sleepy, her eyelids already drooping. She looked in Jun Qi's direction and murmured, "Ahei, goodnight, see you tomorrow."
Then he drifted off to sleep peacefully.
At this moment, in a forest far away, the black bear was still relentlessly searching for the spiritual herb. He firmly believed that even under such dangerous circumstances, the herb could survive.
Even if it's crushed, we still have to find the body.
Then eat it.
This was the only method in the black bear's mind. He had eaten quite a few of Xu Qiaoqiao's leaves before and thought they tasted pretty good. If he had known that the cave would collapse, he would have eaten them all.
In short, I deeply regret it now.
He was unaware that the spirit herb had already escaped before the cave collapsed.
As for how the cave collapsed, he slept for several days straight. During that time, it rained more than once, which dispersed the presence of strangers in the area, so he couldn't find any other traces of them.
As for the hair he was holding in his paw, the black bear naturally ignored it. It was yellow fur, and he was black, so it definitely wasn't his. But he couldn't guess whose it was, so he assumed that some oblivious little animal had come while he was sleeping.
Then it just so happens to have eaten it; otherwise, there's no way to explain the hair.
This kind of thing used to happen often. Sometimes he thought he was dreaming, but when he woke up, he realized he had actually eaten.
Eating while sleeping—only he knows how to do that.
At first, the black bear felt that flipping the stones one by one was too slow, so it used its magic to make all the stones float in the air, which would be more efficient.
As a result, he was suddenly attracted by a sweet honey smell. While casting the spell, he stumbled and all the stones fell down, hitting him many times, although he immediately put up a defense.
But there was no way to avoid being hit.
The black bear hesitated for a few seconds between honey and medicinal herbs, then decisively rushed towards the honey scent. As for the medicinal herbs, they wouldn't run away; he could take his time.
He found the honey inside a small tree hole.
The thick-skinned black bear wasn't afraid of the little guys' needles, so it decisively enlarged the tree hole considerably, stuck its paw in and stirred it around, and when it pulled it out, sure enough, its paw was covered in pale yellow honey.
"Awooo!"
He was overjoyed and sat there enjoying himself without any hesitation.
Sweets brought him a lot of joy, easing his already meager worries.
After finishing its meal, the black bear slowly walked back, and before leaving, it broke off a piece of the beehive from the tree hole and ate it as it walked.
If Xu Qiaoqiao saw this scene, she would definitely empathize with the beehive. Even though she knew it was just an object without any thoughts, the beehive's experiences were the same as her own.
Back at the base, the black bear continued searching through the rocks. He had been searching all day and hadn't found anything. He moved his paw, lifted it up to look at it, and saw some grit stuck to his fur, making it look very dirty.
I'm hungry.
He licked his paws clean, then spat them out. He sat on the ground, remained quiet for a while, then got up, ready to fill his stomach first.
What should we eat to fill our stomachs?
I've already had honey today, how about we go have another one?
He quickly rejected the idea himself, because he had already eaten most of the honey there, and what was left were just scraps, which were very difficult to eat.
Thinking this, the black bear couldn't help but lick its lips, as if there were still traces of honey left at the corners of its mouth.
Suddenly, a figure jumped into his mind—the little tiger he had found by chance before. It was obviously not yet an adult, and there were no adult tigers with it. Moreover, the meat on its body looked like the kind that ran around a lot, so it should taste good.
Moreover, the fact that it can cultivate means that its flesh will taste even better.
As he thought about it, the black bear's mouth watered. He put his paw in his mouth and sucked on it several times.
He now remembered that what he had wanted to eat before was that little tiger, but he forgot about it after seeing the spiritual herbs.
"Oh dear, my brain!" Black Bear slapped his head in frustration, clearly exasperated by his poor memory.
The hunger in his stomach kept reminding him of the little tiger's appearance, and he couldn't help but drool more and more.
"Slurp~"
The black bear suddenly remembered where he had found the tiger cub, and he decided to go there to look for it. Although he didn't know where the tiger cub was, he felt that he might find news of it there.
So the black bear got up from the ground, dusted off its rump, and walked away with its toes pointing outwards.
I'm getting ready to go find tonight's dinner.
But clearly, he overlooked one thing: the chances of it happening late at night were slim.
Tigers are not nocturnal animals. Although they can be active and hunt at night, they are mostly active during the day.
Meanwhile, Jun Qi was still cultivating, while Xu Qiaoqiao slept peacefully beside him.
They had no idea that the black bear they had previously hidden in the corner had taken a liking to them again.
But the night passed peacefully. When the sunlight shone on the cave entrance, Xu Qiaoqiao slowly woke up. Her first reaction was to go and see Jun Qi, but he was still asleep, lying there, and the pale yellow light on his body had long since disappeared.
I suppose she really is sleeping right now.
