Chapter 505 - Emperor Penguins

"Chirp chirp chirp~"

A spirited shout rang out, and Jun Qi immediately became alert. He nodded slightly to Xu Qiaoqiao, then slowly took a few steps back, exactly five steps.

Xu Qiaoqiao understood Jun Qi's meaning, so she slowly walked to the place where he had just buried the meat. Now was not the time to be upset. She would wait until she caught Haiyan and then get her revenge.

Soon, a large bird with brown feathers flew over. When it landed on the snow, it looked like a dyed duck, even its beak resembled one.

When the petrel landed, it folded its wings and casually turned its head around. It found the snow was very clean, but it could smell meat. It was this smell that was enticing it, even though the smell wasn't very strong.

"Chirp chirp chirp."

Haiyan called out again. He looked at Xu Qiaoqiao's location and confirmed it several times. The scent of meat was coming from there. His eyes lit up. As for the emperor penguin chick, it looked too weak and was not even worth considering.

He walked forward happily, waddling along, looking even more like a duck. He then ran forward, spreading his large wings, looking quite fierce.

Hmm~ Before eating, let's go bully this little cub first.

He was overjoyed and ran even faster. In just three seconds, he was right in front of Xu Qiaoqiao. He didn't think much about why the cub didn't run away when it saw him; his joy had already overwhelmed him.

"Chirp chirp chirp."

"Chirp".

Xu Qiaoqiao and the petrel cried out at the same time. Just as the petrel lowered its head to bite her, Xu Qiaoqiao blinked and very lightly rolled backward, dodging the attack.

At the same time, as the petrel moved its beak, Jun Qi also began to move. He ran straight forward, his arms outstretched, flapping rapidly, and then suddenly jumped.

"Chirp chirp!"

Jun Qi shouted and pressed his entire body onto the petrel. The petrel felt an animal pressing down on it and punching it on the head several times. It instinctively struggled and ran around on the snow.

In an instant, feathers flew everywhere, and much of the snow was also swept away.

The two of them made quite a commotion, but fortunately, Jun Qi had kept a little distance from the emperor penguin flock beforehand, so the noise they made here couldn't be heard over there.

Jun Qi clung tightly to the other's back, while simultaneously pecking at the other's head repeatedly with his mouth. Judging from the sound, he was using considerable force.

"Chirp chirp chirp!!!"

He yelled and swayed his tail from side to side several times. During this time, he even spread his wings, trying to fly and perhaps make the guy on top of him fall off. But the other party seemed to have anticipated his prediction.

Jun Qi, who used to be an owl, still remembers some of the preparations for flying and knows how to stop it. Now he is a cub of about four months old and his weight is quite considerable.

Although it doesn't weigh as much as an adult emperor penguin, it can still make this petrel suffer.

"Chirp chirp chirp!"

Xu Qiaoqiao yelled, "You've finally met your match!"

Jun Qi was raising his somewhat stiff arm and slapping Haiyan's head repeatedly and roughly. At the same time, he also bit her several times. "You dare to bully my wife!"

The petrel was in pain, and even its cries were filled with a mournful sound; it couldn't even spread its wings.

Xu Qiaoqiao blinked, immediately got up from the ground, and staggered over there. After Jun Qi retaliated for her, she stretched out her foot and kicked the seagull several times.

She had sensed the other's presence long ago. This was the first petrel to bully her. Back then, she had no experience in escaping and was bitten by the tail and dragged on the ground for quite a distance. Waaah, Junjun doesn't know about this yet.

"Chirp chirp chirp!"

Jun Qi was about the same size as the petrel. Soon, the petrel ran out of strength and lay panting on the ground, not wanting to move a single feather. He looked at the pair of emperor penguin chicks and thought: We're doomed.

Unexpectedly, I was bullied by a baby emperor penguin and couldn't even fight back. How am I supposed to face the petrels now that this has gotten out?

Fortunately, emperor penguins don't have the habit of eating bird meat, and even if they did, these two were still chicks, so they couldn't do anything to him.

Seeing the petrel lying lifelessly on the ground, Xu Qiaoqiao stretched out her little foot and gently kicked its wing. Although it didn't react, Xu Qiaoqiao saw its eyes darting around, and it still looked so energetic!

"Chirp chirp chirp".

Jun Qi walked over at this moment, and then Xu Qiaoqiao noticed that the seagull quickly closed its eyes; it was pretending to be dead.

Xu Qiaoqiao: ……

Wow, Haiyan is really that smart!

Can he still play dead?

Xu Qiaoqiao had only heard about this animal in one of her textbooks before, and that was all she knew. She didn't even know its basic living habits.

Therefore, she had no idea why the petrel was making some of its movements and was completely baffled.

Or perhaps the petrels I encountered were simply more intelligent?

After all, the differences between people are so great, and the same applies to animals, even those of the same kind, Xu Qiaoqiao guessed wildly. So, there are also differences in intelligence between petrels...?
