It was already January of the following year. Considering the time, Antarctica's seasons are somewhat unique compared to those of other places, as it was currently in the midst of a scorching summer.
However, there is no sign of summer at all. The only signs are the rapidly melting sea ice and the occasional falling snow, indicating that it is indeed summer in Antarctica.
After playing all day and filling their stomachs, the emperor penguins began to come ashore one by one. They didn't climb up, they jumped up.
They are quick and agile, and their movements are very swift. Even if it is their first time doing it, they look very skilled. This is a skill they are born with.
We are currently in the Antarctic during the midnight sun, a period when the sun never goes out. Even so, it is still important to rest properly when necessary.
The emperor penguins all formed a circle, but they weren't far apart from each other. They were scattered in twos and threes. The place they had chosen was a bit far from the shore, and the sea ice under their feet was intact. They hadn't found any pits or bumps yet.
They folded their little wings and let them hang naturally at their sides. Standing there, they buried their heads in their chests, yawned, and quickly fell asleep.
I've been playing all day, I should be tired by now.
After Xu Qiaoqiao and Jun Qi said goodnight to each other as usual, they also began to fall asleep. However, since there weren't enough pajamas, Xu Qiaoqiao couldn't fall asleep yet. She quietly raised her head and looked around furtively.
The surrounding environment was very bright, and the distant sea ice sparkled in the sunlight. Ripples spread across the sea surface, and the sound of waves crashing against the ice could be heard occasionally.
It's so quiet. You can only hear the sounds of nature. Xu Qiaoqiao blinked, without making any big movements. She just adjusted her position slightly, leaning against Jun Qi, and looked out at the sea in the distance.
This will be their home for the next four years, and they will live here for four years.
Four years later, driven by the same urges as their parents, they returned to the place where they had hatched their eggs, looking for their mates, and then reenacted the events that had happened to them when they were young. It was a wonderful cycle.
As Xu Qiaoqiao enjoyed the gentle sea breeze, she thought about all of this with a sense of contentment. Sleepiness gradually crept in, and she yawned softly before slowly closing her eyes and falling asleep.
