Chapter 573 - Otters and Jaguars

This anaconda was about as thick as an adult man's thigh. It wrapped itself around the caiman several times, with the muscles on its neck being the most prominent.

It was strangling the caiman.

And it looks like he's almost there, just one last step in the strangulation. Soon, he'll be able to enjoy delicious food and fill his stomach, which hasn't eaten for days.

Unfortunately, a few unwelcome "guests" arrived.

This interrupted the process.

The caiman was completely restrained by the anaconda, unable to exert any strength. Its whole body twitched, and its two claws were stuck in mid-air with nowhere to go.

Its head was raised high, revealing its vulnerable neck, which was tightly coiled by the body of a thick snake.

"..."

"Hiss." The serpent sensed Xu Qiaoqiao and Jun Qi's presence as soon as they arrived in its territory, its dark and cold eyes fixed on the two of them.

His gaze was mainly fixed on the jaguar.

This is his most troublesome enemy.

"Hiss hiss hiss..." The python made some noises towards Xu Qiaoqiao and Jun Qi. It sounded damp and sticky. Xu Qiaoqiao felt slightly uncomfortable when she heard it, and a hint of fear appeared in her eyes. She hugged Jun Qi even tighter.

Help!

That's a snake.

Just being stared at like that by him made Xu Qiaoqiao feel like her heart was about to jump out of her chest, and her body couldn't help but tremble, like prey that had been locked on.

She couldn't help but shrink back a little, wrapping her forelimbs around Jun Qi's neck and burying her face in the fur, rubbing against it vigorously, not wanting to meet the snake's gaze.

Jun Qi sensed Xu Qiaoqiao's movements and knew she was scared, truly scared. His eyes were fixed on the snake and its prey. Then, he slowly lowered his head, gently rubbing his chin against Xu Qiaoqiao's claws.

"Hiss hiss hiss."

Clearly, this anaconda was driving away these two, no, three "guests."

Behind them, the jaguar that had followed Xu Qiaoqiao and Jun Qi all the way also slowly stepped forward, revealing its figure.

When they saw an anaconda and a caiman entangled by the anaconda in the swamp, their eyes lit up instantly, just like Jun Qi's had before.

He licked his lips, looking at the two prey, pondering how to hunt them. His neighbor had found them first, and the other would surely try to take a piece as well.

The jaguar narrowed its eyes slightly, not making any rash moves. It took a few steps back, retreating behind Jun Qi. At this moment, it felt that it was better to leave the stronger one in front than to move forward.

He'll just need to pick up the scraps then.

Jun Qi caught a glimpse of the jaguar's movements out of the corner of his eye, but he didn't say anything or make any indication. In any case, with him there, it was impossible for the jaguar to cause any trouble.

"Chirp chirp." Jun Qi lowered his eyes slightly.

The anaconda seemed to know which matter was most important. It looked down at the caiman, hissed, and with a burst of strength, strangled the caiman to death a few seconds later.

Then he curled up the food with his tail, tossed it aside, and held his head high, giving off a disdainful look, all the while keeping his eyes fixed on Jun Qi.

His eyes were cold and sinister, filled with a greedy desire. The other party wanted to devour him, but he felt the same way. That's just how nature is.

"Hiss."

The anaconda twisted its body and slowly moved towards Xu Qiaoqiao. The distance between them was not large. Although the anaconda's swimming speed looked slow, the distance had actually been reduced a lot.

"Chirp chirp." Jun Qi chirped at this moment. He raised one paw and touched the paw that Xu Qiaoqiao was hugging his neck. The movement was neither too light nor too heavy, as if he was kneading it. He was comforting Xu Qiaoqiao.

And the signal from this action is: Little guy, I'm about to start a fight, stay away or you might get hurt.

Xu Qiaoqiao carefully raised her head and saw the python's tail. Like its body, it was very thick and several meters long, coiled together, creating a strong visual impression.

A pile of meat.

Xu Qiaoqiao sighed inwardly. She wasn't so afraid anymore, as long as she didn't make eye contact with the snake.

"Waaaaah." Be careful, I'll be right here cheering you on!

After Xu Qiaoqiao finished speaking, she let go of Jun Qi's neck, jumped off his back, dragged her tail behind a large rock, and then poked her little head out to look outside.

Hearing the little one's tone, Jun Qi knew she wasn't as scared as he thought, so he felt relieved. He then turned his gaze to the python, his hind legs beginning to brace themselves, and he had already come up with several attack plans in his mind.

I've caught snakes like this before, but none of them were as big as this one. It's sub-adult, almost adult.

If it can successfully survive the next period and reach adulthood, then in this rainforest, it will have the same status as the jaguar, belonging to the top predator, at the top of the food chain.

Unfortunately, he ran into a tough opponent.

"Hiss!"

The anaconda moved swiftly, its mouth wide open, and attacked Jun Qi directly. He couldn't wait any longer; he had been starving for several days, which had put him on edge and exhausted his patience. He simply couldn't wait any longer.
