Perhaps fate was taking care of this poor little kitten.
Although the weather wasn't great on the day they set off, the first zoo they visited was the one Chestnut remembered.
Chestnut stayed in the cage, looking at the huge Ferris wheel, and let out a soft meow. Memories from the past came flooding back like a tide. He remembered that huge Ferris wheel.
It's really beautiful, and the owner loves it too, but unfortunately, he's afraid of heights.
Xu Qiaoqiao and Jun Qi had been keeping an eye on Chestnut's situation. They noticed that Chestnut's behavior had changed; he was now looking up at the Ferris wheel intently from the edge of the cage.
"Meow."
Xu Qiaoqiao called out and turned to look at Jun Qi. He was also paying attention to Chestnut's condition. When he felt Xu Qiaoqiao's gaze, he turned his head and met her clear eyes.
"Meow." He meowed softly, leaned over, and kissed Xu Qiaoqiao's ears, eyes, nose, and cheeks.
I won't leave you, little kitty, we'll be together forever.
I don't want you to become like Chestnut. If possible, you must go before me.
Jun Qi's bright eyes were filled with tenderness and reluctance. He had been thinking about many things lately, and the matter of the chestnut had made him think about it more.
He suddenly felt a sense of relief that Xu Qiaoqiao still had her pet owner and their baby to keep her company and prevent her from being alone.
Unfortunately, Jun Qi didn't know that even with a pet owner and a baby, what difference did it make? He was the most important person to Xu Qiaoqiao. Only with him was Qiaoqiao complete.
"So, is this the one?"
Miao Yuanyuan looked at Li Zi, who was staring at the Ferris wheel, and the two little ones playing a sticker game behind him. She felt a little awkward standing there all by herself.
I don't know what to do.
This is the zoo I remember. Cat owner, we've come to the right place!
very nice.
Miao Yuanyuan found a hotel that allowed pets and settled in. Chestnut had already fallen asleep early. He was a tiny little thing lying there with a dark shadow under his eyes.
He was very tired.
Xu Qiaoqiao jumped into her pet owner's arms, crawled into her bag, took out her usual pen and paper, and wrote this sentence for her pet owner.
Jun Qi jumped up just as Xu Qiaoqiao finished writing. He was always unusually quiet at this time, knowing that the kitten and its owner had something to discuss.
"Meow."
The cat owner's eyes lit up when he saw the few crooked words written on the paper, and he turned to look at Xu Qiaoqiao: "Really?"
She was prepared to travel to three cities.
Xu Qiaoqiao nodded at her cat owner: "Meow."
Yes, pet owner.
Seeing Xu Qiaoqiao's attitude, the cat owner laughed and breathed a sigh of relief for the time being, but then began to worry again. The city is so big, there must be many residential areas.
This is just the beginning.
She booked a two-week stay directly with the hotel and contacted many rental agencies, explaining all the features of the neighborhoods that Li Zi had mentioned earlier. Since she wasn't a local, asking these agencies was the fastest way.
Although many of these intermediaries were talking nonsense and trying to extort money, causing them to make many wasted trips.
On their tenth day in the city, they went out almost every day, but returned empty-handed and exhausted. Then, when they saw the old neighborhood, Chestnut's eyes suddenly lit up.
"Meow~"
He let out a cry, lay down by the cage, and all the gloomy feeling he used to have disappeared. His paws were gripping the bars, his tail was held high, and he looked very happy.
Seeing Chestnut like this, Miao Yuanyuan sensed something. She had been raising cats for almost three years, and had a cat that loved to show off. She had a certain understanding of cats' various behaviors.
Seeing Miao Yuanyuan like this, the real estate agent next to her became even more enthusiastic. She praised the community, saying that although it was an old community, all the facilities were very complete, and kindergartens and primary schools were very close to the community.
With a polite smile on her face, Miao Yuanyuan put down the cage, letting Chestnut run out, and then gave Xu Qiaoqiao a look, which she immediately understood.
Seeing the three cats walk away, the real estate agent asked in confusion, "Young lady, aren't you going to follow them?" Why did you suddenly let the cats out? What if something happens to them? How will you rent your house?
Miao Yuanyuan smiled and said, "It's alright. They're just too dull. It's good for them to take a walk. They'll come back here to gather later."
Is this cat really that smart?
The real estate agent looked at the three round buttocks, shook her head, and didn't quite understand.
Over there, Xu Qiaoqiao and Jun Qi had walked away with Chestnut. The three of them walked along a side path. It was the dead of winter, the weather was cold, and there were very few pedestrians on the road. She looked at Chestnut and asked, "Chestnut, do you still remember this place?"
Jun Qi also looked at Chestnut with curiosity, wondering what he would say.
Chestnut walked around, stopping occasionally, looking at this familiar place. Most of the things that had been forgotten and the memories buried deepest in the past began to surface.
Nothing has changed here.
The trees along the roadside are still as tall and straight as ever, but now they are bare and don't look good.
Seeing Chestnut like this, Xu Qiaoqiao didn't continue. She slowed her pace slightly and walked alongside Jun Qi, looking at Chestnut's thin figure with a hint of worry.
