Chapter Sixty-Three – The White Hedgehog & the Owl

If it loses its mate, the remaining eagle will not eat or drink, knowing it will starve to death, and will never live alone in this world.

Or you could say that they would definitely avenge the other party.

This is the eagle's affection for its mate; it is absolutely devoted to one another. This is the eagle's love and affection.

Their nests are built on a mountain not far from here, filled with cozy hay, where their young are still growing.

There are many mountains here, but they are not long. You can encounter a high mountain almost every few steps. The forest where Xu Qiaoqiao used to stay is one of the few flat areas here, because the terrain here is very undulating.

Eagles are solitary animals and practice monogamy.

After a young eagle has eaten its fill, it learns to fly under the guidance of its parents.

Once they learn to fly, they will have to leave their parents, so this eagle's only family is its lover.

When they hunt, the male eagle usually goes out while the female stays home to take care of the chicks. Sometimes, the pair hunt together, like tonight.

But the losses tonight were far too severe.

It really didn't expect that it would lose its lover.

When the male eagle saw the female eagle being thrown to the ground, he wanted to catch her, but unfortunately, he couldn't make it in time, so he could only watch helplessly as his beloved was thrown to her death.

"Roar!"

The eagle let out a mournful cry, startling all the small animals within a few miles. However, the eagle was indeed very powerful, and with its unique raptor aura, they dared not speak out in anger.

After throwing the female eagle, the owl gracefully landed on a cliff not far from Xu Qiaoqiao. There was a slightly protruding rock on the cliff where it could stand steadily.

He was injured in many places, and Xu Qiaoqiao could smell the strong, unpleasant stench of blood.

The eagle turned its head, its excellent night vision allowing it to quickly locate the object, and at that moment, intense hatred blazed in its eyes.

That owl must pay the price!

The owl didn't care what the eagle thought; after all, as the king of the eagles, few animals dared to provoke him.

And this is actually the time I've been most seriously injured in all my life.

This time, the eagle launches a fierce attack.

It raised its large wings and swung them down with tremendous force, striking east or west.

The move was too obvious, and the owl dodged it immediately.

But this was a smokescreen; the other party's real purpose was not that. Their true weapon was their sharp claws, and their target was the owl's eyes.

With a soft "plop".

"Coo coo!!"

The owl's mournful cry rang out, and the eagle's actions caught him completely off guard; his eyes were instantly pierced.

His body fell uncontrollably, and the eagle followed closely behind, its two claws pressing down on his wings, firmly restraining him.

Because of his damaged eyes, the owl's attention was immediately diverted, giving the eagle an opening. Now, the owl is pinned to the ground by the eagle, which is tearing at his flesh.

Feathers flew everywhere.

The eagle fiercely pecked at the flesh of the creature, venting all its anger; only in this way could it feel a sense of satisfaction.

However, those who are riding high on victory will inevitably reveal their weaknesses unintentionally.

The owl deliberately feigned death to lure the eagle into lowering its guard. Because of its injured eye, the eagle couldn't see clearly and could only rely on its breath to judge the situation.

The eagle was indeed blinded by the impending victory, but who knew that even after he had done this to the owl, it would still have the strength to launch a counterattack?

The owl seized the opportunity when the eagle paused, opened its beak, and snatched the eagle by the neck.

"——"

In just a few seconds, the eagle flapped its wings several times, and then slowly fell silent.

Its neck was bitten off by the owl, which was holding onto its neck tightly.

It all happened so fast, in the blink of an eye, that it was impossible to react in time.

After killing the eagle, the owl grabbed one of the eagles with one talon and stumbled its way back to its nest.

In his mind, only his little nest was the safest place.

Looking down at the pitch blackness, apart from the shadows of the trees and mountains, nothing else could be seen.

The sounds coming from below were particularly clear on this night, and it seemed that the outcome of the battle would soon be decided.

Although the eagle looked like it was going all out, Xu Qiaoqiao inexplicably felt that the owl would probably win in the end.

"He's just too amazing," Xu Qiaoqiao couldn't help but exclaim.

Although the owl was about to eat itself a few minutes ago, this also meant that it was going to die today.

However, when the owl revealed its fierce side, Xu Qiaoqiao felt a strange sense of familiarity and a peculiar feeling arose in her heart.

That look is just too much like Junjun.

The only difference is that Junjun doesn't leave himself any way out. In the previous fights, if it weren't for her, he would have already gone up and fought. These words were spoken by Junqi to Xu Qiaoqiao after they got married.

But owls are different.

Owls are clearly cunning and intelligent birds.

The saying "plan before you act" perfectly describes him. He took down two eagles in a short time, not only by brute force, but also because he was a sub-adult owl himself.

These facts already speak volumes.

With no hope of escape, Xu Qiaoqiao was in despair.

"Coo coo".

The sudden shout immediately alerted Xu Qiaoqiao. A shadow fell in front of her, and when she looked over, she was startled.

Good heavens, this...this...this is still alive!

A large chunk of flesh had been torn off the owl's body by the eagle, covered in pecking marks. Most of its feathers had been knocked away, and blood was still dripping from the flesh.

Moreover, its eyes were also scratched.

In the wild, it's definitely impossible to cure this; just surviving is a miracle.

Nearly half of the meat is gone, yet it still managed to fly back?

Are owls really that resilient?

Xu Qiaoqiao swallowed hard, startled, and immediately retreated to a corner; everything before her was too shocking.

Ignoring Xu Qiaoqiao's reaction, the owl tossed the pair of eagles into its nest, instantly taking up a large portion of the spacious space.

Although a lot of his body fat had been eaten, his stomach was still empty.

So now, he needs to eat to replenish the energy he just used up.

So he devoured the eagle without hesitation, tearing at its flesh and drinking its blood.

The scene was extremely bloody at one point.
