The activity of patrolling the territory was not as interesting as Xu Qiaoqiao had imagined. Obviously, the jaguar's territory was very large, and it needed to patrol the entire territory to filter out any unfamiliar scents.
After all, the day before, several uninvited humans had come to his place, attempting to take his life.
He must be harmed.
This made Jun Qi very wary. That night, he didn't go back to sleep, but instead patrolled the area several times. Only after confirming that there were no unfamiliar signs did he head towards home.
Xu Qiaoqiao lay comfortably on the big cat's back, her eyelids slowly closing. Night was falling, and the sky was gradually darkening, though there were no stars and it was still raining.
"Waaah." When they got back to the camp, Xu Qiaoqiao couldn't tell what time it was. She only knew that it was very dark and she was very sleepy. When Jun Qi carried her off his back, Xu Qiaoqiao couldn't help but yawn, and her eyes welled up with tears.
I'm sleepy.
She blinked.
"Chirp." Jun Qi chirped, lazily lying down next to the little one. Seeing her blurry appearance, he leaned in, licked her cheek, and gave her a sweet kiss.
Sleep well, little one, I'm here, you're safe.
The paw gently patted her back.
Xu Qiaoqiao felt Jun Qi's touch, subconsciously hugged him, responded with a slight nasal sound, nodded slightly, then lay down beside him, closed her eyes, and fell asleep.
Before going to sleep, they kept holding each other's paws.
When Jun Qi saw the little guy, a hint of tenderness unconsciously appeared in his eyes. He didn't pull his paw back, but pushed the little guy a little closer to him, and began to rest in that position as well.
...
Although he went to bed very late last night, Junqi woke up early the next morning. Compared to other large cats, jaguars are relatively active, spending about 50% to 60% of their day in an active state.
When Jun Qi woke up, his first reaction was to raise his head, look around, and smell the air. It was very humid, and the scents were mixed together, making it a little difficult to distinguish. Fortunately, his sense of smell was keen, and he quickly determined that he did not smell any unfamiliar scents.
"Chirp." Not bad.
Jun Qi yawned and felt a soft little creature nestled against his abdomen. He knew without a doubt who it was. He raised his paw and patted Xu Qiaoqiao's head.
I don't know how the little guy slept last night. He was sleeping right next to my head, holding his paws, just before I closed my eyes. But when I woke up, he was right next to my belly.
In the past, after Jun Qi woke up, he would stay in bed for a while, then slowly get up and start moving around, inspecting his territory. He would just walk around a bit more instead of sleeping, so that he could get familiar with his territory as quickly as possible.
There are many dangerous animals in the Amazon rainforest, at least for the little guy. There are quite a few kinds of dangerous animals, such as pythons. Even in his own territory, Jun Qi cannot say that there is no danger at all.
Jun Qi was still a little worried about leaving her here alone, but the little one was still sleeping. So Jun Qi was thinking about whether to wait for the little one to wake up or take her with him, but she hadn't woken up yet.
Just as Jun Qi was struggling with his decision, Xu Qiaoqiao's tail twitched slightly, she rolled over, and the whole otter leaned against Jun Qi. She kicked her legs forward, her eyes still closed, and yawned widely, with a few water droplets immediately appearing at the corners of her eyes.
"Eek".
Upon hearing the cry, Jun Qi immediately looked over and saw the little guy wriggling on the ground with his mouth wide open, seemingly stretching and yawning at the same time.
It looks interesting.
A hint of a smile flashed across Jun Qi's eyes. He continued to lie there, his fluffy tail slapping against his thigh again and again.
"Ooh ooh." Xu Qiaoqiao cried out again. After yawning, she felt it wasn't enough, so she sneezed very softly. After feeling as if all the bones in her body had been rearranged, she finally woke up, rolled over abruptly, jumped up from the ground, and shook her head with a "hmm".
"Waaaaah." Good morning, Junjun.
Jun Qi tilted his head and looked down at the little guy. He immediately met his eyes, which were round and bright and looked very clever.
He hesitated for a moment, seemingly unsure of himself, but looking into the little guy's eyes, he felt an indescribable emotion surging within him, constantly tangling together.
Slowly, Jun Qi straightened up, leaned in, and gave the little guy a sweet kiss.
Good morning.
Xu Qiaoqiao smiled and her eyes narrowed. Sure enough, this was her Junjun, greeting her every day as usual. Although they had been together for many years, Xu Qiaoqiao was still persistent in these little things.
The familiar actions, carrying familiar meanings, made Xu Qiaoqiao very satisfied.
The rest of their life consisted of patrolling every day, eating together, and in their spare time, Jun Qi would teach Xu Qiaoqiao some hunting methods, from a small fish in the river to a small snake coiled on a tree branch.
Even if Xu Qiaoqiao wanted to try out a large, ferocious beast, Jun Qi wouldn't agree. Although he also felt that the two of them would always be together, they still needed to learn some essential survival skills.
Protecting the little one doesn't mean fattening her up.
May passed and June slowly arrived. At this time, the water level in the river was still rising. Some of the wider river channels had very rapid currents, and some low-lying areas had already been submerged by floods.
