After filling her stomach, Xu Qiaoqiao lay lazily on Jun Qi's lap, while Jun Qi lay there, licking his paws to clean the blood from his lips.
The rain was still falling, though not as heavily as before. The pitter-patter sound continued without stopping, and the rainwater slid slowly down the leaves, landing on the ground with a soft thud.
When Xu Qiaoqiao was on the road, she saw a few large-leaved ant tower plants that were growing well, so she simply asked Junjun to help her break off one to make a rain shelter.
The large-leaved ant tower is an extra-large foliage plant that can reach a height of 2-3 meters. The average leaf diameter can reach 2-3 meters, and the largest leaf can even reach 4 meters in diameter. The one that Xu Qiaoqiao and Jun Qi broke off together had a leaf diameter of about 2 meters, and the leaf also looked quite round, making it very suitable as a rain shelter.
Xu Qiaoqiao was very satisfied with it. Together they took the "rain shelter" back with them, then dug a very deep hole, stuck the roots of the large-leaved ant tower plant into it, filled in the surrounding soil, and tamped it down.
And just like that, a simple parasol is made.
Xu Qiaoqiao looked up at the "sunshade," her eyes a little blurry. She always felt very sleepy after finishing her meal. She yawned, and suddenly felt even sleepier.
"She's usually most active at night, what's wrong with her biological clock?" Xu Qiaoqiao thought to herself.
Jun Qi looked energetic and had bright eyes. He was clearly in a very good mood after eating delicious food. In addition, he still needed to find the owner of that unfamiliar aura later, so he had to conserve his strength.
What if a fight breaks out?
The rain had washed away all the scents in the air, making it difficult even for Jun Qi to find the two "intruders" in such conditions, not to mention that the rain hadn't stopped.
But if this method doesn't work, there's another way. We should thank them for even making marks along the way.
Jun Qi is so smart. He can tell at a glance whether these marks were made by him or not. There are also marks made by the little guy. Because of his height, the little guy's marks are all low.
When Jun Qi came back, he followed the same path he came by at the entrance, but took a completely different path afterward. And he saw those marks again.
Jun Qi: Haha, they're so stupid. The markings are too obvious; they can be seen at a glance.
Jun Qi kept this matter in mind, and after resting enough, he prepared to go.
but
The little guy looks sleepy.
Jun Qi watched as Xu Qiaoqiao's head bobbed up and down, then suddenly jolted awake as if a sleepy bug had been slapped. He immediately widened his eyes, covered his ears with his paws, shook his head, and looked slightly troubled, probably wondering why he was sleepy so quickly.
"Waaaaah."
Then they continued doing the same actions again, repeating the same routine countless times.
Jun Qi couldn't bear to disturb the little one, so he just stood beside her, watching her do these actions. He found it quite interesting, and since it was still early, he could go later in the middle of the night.
But by then, the little guy must have already fallen asleep.
If that's the case, should we still bring the little one?
After thinking for a few seconds, Jun Qi decided that he should still bring it.
Based on her intense attitude before the meal, she must be very enthusiastic about this. If we don't take her, she'll probably throw a tantrum when she wakes up.
Just keep an eye on things when the time comes.
After Junqi made up his mind, he was very satisfied with the decision. He squinted his eyes happily, and his tail wagged back and forth.
When it got to the middle of the night, Jun Qi skipped the patrol and headed towards the marks made by the "intruders." He even stopped along the way to carefully examine the marked trees and sniffed their scent.
Although it was still faint, one could tell that it was an unfamiliar scent.
Soon, Jun Qi followed the marks and the scent on them and walked over. He didn't walk fast because he was carrying a sleeping baby otter on his back. The baby otter was covered with a large leaf to keep it from getting wet in the rain.
The little one finds the rainwater smelly and doesn't like getting wet. Every time she gets wet or splashed by rainwater from the big leaves, she gets so angry that she jumps up and down, whimpering and yelling at the sky. She looks quite fierce.
Although Jun Qi didn't understand what the little guy meant by those words, he could roughly guess that they weren't nice things.
"Chirp chirp." Soon, Jun Qi saw the tent hidden in the darkness ahead. It was only a vague outline and not very clear, but this was definitely the location of the "intruder".
I didn't expect it to be human.
Jun Qi slowly walked over. There was a faint light inside the tent, a very faint light that was not visible from a distance. Only when he got closer did he realize that there was a small light shining inside.
The rain gradually subsided, but there was still some drizzle. Peter and Ed wanted to sprinkle some insecticide powder around the area to keep insects away, but the rain was so heavy that it was useless.
Later that night, the rain still hadn't stopped, so they gave up on the idea. With such heavy rain, no animals would likely come near, and they were safe for the time being.
