In the following days, Xu Qiaoqiao secretly went with Jun Qi to the human-inhabited area to hunt, or more accurately, to have an easy feast. During this time, she also ate some other foods.
For example, there are some dead earthworms and some leftover vegetable leaves. These are the food that the owner feeds to the chickens, but obviously, the chickens may not appreciate it.
But this benefited Xu Qiaoqiao, as she has become much less picky about food now, unlike when she first arrived. Clearly, Jun Qi's previous feeding had an effect.
For the little hedgehog, only what it eats is the best.
Clearly, she has become much smarter.
This calm lasted only a few days until the day of the great flood.
At the end of June, Xu Qiaoqiao's premonition was indeed confirmed, and a major flood did occur.
That night, it was pouring rain, a really heavy downpour.
The raging floodwaters, like a ferocious beast, swept in, carrying broken branches and pebbles, all rushing downhill with a constant rumbling sound, submerging the lower parts of the forest.
The houses of those families in the east were all located on higher ground, and it was obvious that they had done a good job of taking precautions against the rainy season.
In addition, the river has swelled considerably, and it's still quite a distance from the easternmost point.
So it's still quite safe.
Fortunately, this was a forest, and a very large one at that. The floodwaters, which were initially fierce, were eventually diverted and became as small as a babbling brook.
The continuous rainfall quickly brought down the high temperatures, and the temperature was just like early spring, which was the most suitable temperature for Xu Qiaoqiao.
This is the only good thing since the heavy rain started, but this good thing cannot outweigh the other shortcomings.
Looking at the torrential rain, Xu Qiaoqiao felt a little depressed because many of her ideas had not been realized during this rainy season. If this continued, the temperature would approach or exceed 40 degrees Celsius in July and August, and she would really die of heat.
Therefore, dismantling the nest is an urgent matter!
As for that protruding rock, let's leave it for now; Xu Qiaoqiao doesn't have the ability to get rid of it for the time being.
During the day, the rain sometimes stops, or it turns from heavy rain to light rain, which greatly facilitates the hedgehog's crimes.
Xu Qiaoqiao secretly glanced back at Jun Qi and saw that he was squatting there quietly with his eyes closed, like a statue. However, because of his posture, Jun Qi was facing the direction of their little nest.
Xu Qiaoqiao felt a little uneasy.
The timid little hedgehog hesitated for a while, but finally slowly crawled back to bother the owl. If the owl didn't wake up, then she could go ahead and do her thing.
Xu Qiaoqiao first nudged Jun Qi's belly with her head, but because of the thick fur, her head almost got stuck in the feathers. Helpless, she could only rub against it hard, while also using her paws and standing on her two legs to pinch the chubby cheeks of Jun Qi.
There are few feathers there, so they can be easily touched.
Seeing that Jun Qi was still asleep, Xu Qiaoqiao had not completely let go of her worries. She looked at Jun Qi's tightly closed eyes and cheered herself up.
Keep it up, it won't upset Junjun anyway!
After pulling at Jun Qi's eyelids for five minutes, switching between his left and right eyes, and doing such a large movement, Jun Qi still didn't wake up, which meant he was safe.
She quickly climbed back and first removed all the leaves, piling them on Jun Qi's body. Since he was unconscious, it would be perfect to create a cat-shaped support.
The bird's nest was really sturdy. Xu Qiaoqiao scratched at it with her claws for a long time but couldn't hurt it at all. She didn't know how Junjun had done it. Xu Qiaoqiao simply sat down on the ground and looked at the hard bird's nest. How could it be made so strong by branches, soil, and bird saliva?
Nature is incredible.
But even so, we cannot give up easily.
Xu Qiaoqiao mentally rallied herself, rested for a while, and then continued working.
Time passed quietly, and by the time Xu Qiaoqiao dug a small pit, it was already evening, and the rain started to fall again, threatening to intensify.
So Xu Qiaoqiao quickly spread the leaves on top.
That way, from the outside, Jun Qi wouldn't notice that he was destroying the house.
"Coo coo".
An owl's call signaled that Jun Qi had woken up.
Xu Qiaoqiao continued this furtive action until the rainy season was over.
It wasn't until July that the rainfall gradually subsided, the floodwaters receded, leaving behind a lot of mortar, making it easy to slip and fall.
At this point, Xu Qiaoqiao had clearly completed half of the disassembly work.
Bird nests may look fragile, but they are actually quite sturdy!
However, through Xu Qiaoqiao's tireless efforts, a very small hole has been made in the Bird's Nest. Xu Qiaoqiao bent down, squatted down, and put her head close to the hole. Looking down through the small hole, all she could see was a vast expanse of white.
Hey!
Xu Qiaoqiao laughed, extremely happy.
However, as the saying goes, plans can never keep up with changes.
It was just an ordinary night, but Xu Qiaoqiao never expected that she would be targeted by humans.
And that person was Xu Qian.
In July, rainfall gradually decreased.
The raging floodwaters in the forest are slowly receding, leaving behind a mess of mud and sand.
So Xu Qiaoqiao and Jun Qi went down to hunt together. The forest was obviously very damp after the rain, and Xu Qiaoqiao didn't dawdle and went straight to find earthworms to eat.
