"Chirp?" An unfamiliar scent?
When the neighboring jaguar returned, it sensed a faint presence within its territory. In fact, with the heavy rain these past few days, it shouldn't have been able to sense it.
However, Peter and Ed had explored a lot of areas during this time, and in order not to get lost in the rainforest, they would make special marks on the places they passed through.
The neighboring jaguar looked at the unfamiliar mark, sniffed it a few times, feeling both strange and familiar. Was this something he made?
I really can't remember; I was out for too long, and I can't recall these details.
Moreover, many small animals would come to this forest. These small animals had very faint scents and were very small in size, so they didn't seem to be dangerous, and he didn't pay any attention to them.
But this aura is too obvious.
The neighboring jaguar pressed its two front paws around the mark, put its nose close to the mark on the tree, and sniffed it carefully a few more times. Compared to this unfamiliar scent, it had lived here for quite a long time. Even though it had been gone for more than three months, its mark still remained.
The light rain started to fall again. The jaguar took a step back, feeling a little confused. The scents were so faint. What bothered him were the unfamiliar claw marks.
"Chirp!"
The neighboring jaguar called out again and circled the big tree several times, looking genuinely confused, as if several large question marks had appeared above its head.
Is this what he left behind?
Probably, maybe?
The jaguar leaped forward again, pressing its two front paws against the tree. It examined the scratch mark, trying to see if it was the one that had made it.
...
Xu Qiaoqiao and Jun Qi were unaware that their neighbor had returned, but it happened soon enough, because the jaguar swaggered over to their neighbor's territory the day after it returned.
He even came specifically in the morning, as it rarely rains in the morning, though it's not always the case. But the day he came was a very nice day, with bright, warm sunshine.
Xu Qiaoqiao had just woken up. Not far from the two of them, there was a tent, and two humans were sitting in front of the tent. The two humans seemed to be cooking meat, which looked like fish.
"Waaaaah." After getting up and taking a few steps, Xu Qiaoqiao walked towards Peter and Ed. Smelling the barbecue, Xu Qiaoqiao felt her mouth watering.
Seeing Joe's greedy look, Peter laughed and said, "Don't rush, little guy, it's not cooked yet, we need to wait a little longer."
As he spoke, he flipped the fish over and sprinkled some seasoning on it.
Xu Qiaoqiao smelled the familiar aroma of barbecue and felt really hungry. Ever since she transmigrated into a small animal, she had eaten almost all raw food, either raw or vegetarian.
Our quality of life has plummeted.
She tilted her head back, looked at the piece of fish, swallowed the drool that was about to spill out, and decisively turned around to wake Jun Qi.
"Waaaaah." Junjunjunjunjunjun, wake up quickly, dinner's ready! Dinner's ready!
Xu Qiaoqiao jumped onto Jun Qi, bouncing around a few times, and even pinched his nose and pulled his ears with her paws. These mischievous actions successfully woke Jun Qi up, and he clearly didn't look like he had slept enough.
However, delicious food is always an exception.
When Xu Qiaoqiao saw that Jun Qi had opened his eyes, she hurriedly called out to him in a soft, whimpering voice, and pointed in the direction of Peter and Ed. It was from there that a delicious aroma was wafting over.
Jun Qi's vision gradually cleared. He leaned over and kissed Xu Qiaoqiao's head, rubbing his lips against hers. Her body hair was a little shorter than before, but the touch was still pleasant.
Jun Qi liked it very much.
Xu Qiaoqiao also liked it. Although her body hair wasn't very long before, she still felt uncomfortable. Plus, with her dense hair, she would always get all dirty whenever she went out with Junjun. It was also a hassle to groom her hair, even though Junqi did most of the work for her.
Xu Qiaoqiao had originally thought that she should just let it be and just bear with it, but then she met these two humans. They seemed kind and helpful, so she felt comfortable asking them for help.
Just a month ago, when Xu Qiaoqiao took the scissors she had taken from their bag and cut her own hair in front of them, Peter and Ed were clearly very interested.
Ed glanced at the scissors in Joe's hand, raised an eyebrow slightly, and revealed a very bright smile. He hadn't expected this kid to be a "thief" after all.
Peter carefully picked up Joe and placed her on his lap. Then he took the scissors from her hand and watched as the little one used her paws as scissors in front of him, making a cutting motion. Peter's eyes widened.
“Oh, Ed, look what Joe is doing! She’s making me trim her fur!!!” Peter suddenly yelled at Ed, looking very excited. Then he started chattering into the camera.
Xu Qiaoqiao didn't understand, but she guessed it was related to her situation.
Xu Qiaoqiao guessed that the two of them were the kind of photographers who shot documentaries, since their attire was very similar. These films would be seen by many people, but Xu Qiaoqiao didn't care about such things at all right now.
Whether you saw it or not, this is a low-probability event and won't affect any species. Besides, her current environment is different from that of ordinary otter species, so what's there to worry about?
