Chapter 84 - The White Hedgehog & the Owl

The fruit that Jun Qi brought for Xu Qiaoqiao was really big, and it was very juicy.

Xu Qiaoqiao assumed that Jun Qi had gotten this from Bai Fei again, so it would be unreasonable not to bring her a gift next time they met.

But what does the other party want?

This is a problem we need to think about carefully.

Xu Qiaoqiao only ate a quarter of the food before she couldn't eat anymore. With the addition of the field mouse meat, today's dinner was exceptionally plentiful.

Xu Qiaoqiao patted her belly happily, leaning against the mountain wall next to her. After they finished eating, Jun Qi started cleaning up the place, but before that, he had to vomit up the undigested food in his stomach.

When Jun Qi ate the field mouse, he swallowed it whole, just like before. He even waited until Xu Qiaoqiao finished eating before swallowing it, so that he could spit out the cocoon together.

His stomach couldn't digest anything from the field mouse, like bones and feathers; these were all indigestible.

Therefore, his stomach will secrete a substance that turns these things into a cocoon, and then he will vomit them all out.

Watching Jun Qi spit out the cocoon, Xu Qiaoqiao felt very curious. She thought that if she turned into an owl, she could experience that feeling.

After eating something, you have to spit out the skin.

After spitting out the cocoon, Jun Qi felt very comfortable, and his movements became much more agile.

His little nest was extremely simple, containing only some food and nothing else. After all, it was a place to sleep, and owls adapt to their environment very quickly. To be more precise, they don't really care about the quality or comfort of their environment.

So his previous simple little apartment perfectly suited his single lifestyle, but since Xu Qiaoqiao came, the apartment has been almost completely transformed.

Soft leaves began to spread out, and she had also made a small stone trough next to it, which was carved out of the cliff, specifically to hold water. Most of the water was rainwater, and a few small flowers, white and yellow, were also dotted around the little nest.

My little apartment, which I never cleaned much to begin with, now needs to be cleaned almost every day. I replace the leaves at the bottom with fresh ones, and I change the little flowers every day too. I'm starting to create a sense of ritual.

Jun Qi wouldn't react much to this kind of thing, but since it's what the little hedgehog wants, there's no harm in reluctantly doing it.

After everything was ready, Jun Qi lay down in the nest, lying straight. The nest was just the right size to accommodate his current body length, and his fluffy feathers almost covered the entire bird.

Xu Qiaoqiao then crawled over and snuggled into Jun Qi's arms. After feeling his heartbeat, she stopped moving. Her thorns weren't hurting her now, and it was very comfortable to nestle in Jun Qi's arms.

However, drowsiness did not overwhelm Xu Qiaoqiao. Even though her body was very tired, her mind was still very excited.

Jun Qi fell asleep the moment he collapsed, which was one of the things that Xu Qiaoqiao particularly envied, especially since she was always an insomniac.

The moon slowly moved westward, and as time passed, the sky gradually brightened.

Xu Qiaoqiao couldn't fall asleep because of hormonal fluctuations. Even though she was very tired, she felt restless all over and really wanted to move around, even if it was just fighting.

Jun Qi, on the other hand, slept soundly, completely undisturbed.

When the sky was completely clear, Xu Qiaoqiao finally fell asleep, exhausted both physically and mentally.

The weather is terrible today; dark clouds are piled up, and everything looks particularly gloomy.

It's early spring now; there hasn't been this much rain in March. This isn't the dry climate of the north; it's more like the south.

In the south, springtime is rainy.

Jun Qi slept straight through until the afternoon.

Xu Qiaoqiao, after sleeping for a few hours, had to wake up. She slowly poked her head out from under Jun Qi's wing, looking at the dim light around her and the thick clouds above her head.

The knowledgeable little hedgehog quickly deduced that it was going to rain.

It's raining. Xu Qiaoqiao looked at the protruding rock above her head, then at Jun Qi's massive body, wondering if the rock could cover the two of them.

Sure enough, half an hour later, Xu Qiaoqiao felt a slight coolness in her nose. She touched it and found it a little damp. Before she could think about it, a raindrop suddenly fell.

Soon, a light drizzle began to fall.

Oh dear, it's raining.

Xu Qiaoqiao reacted immediately by quickly hiding under Jun Qi's feathers, which was the safest place she felt.

But less than a minute later, Xu Qiaoqiao noticed that her head was getting wet. The rainwater dripped through Jun Qi's feathers and onto her body. The feathers were even leaking water, Xu Qiaoqiao thought to herself in a daze.

Jun Qi was almost entirely naked, and the rain quickly soaked his feathers. His left side was significantly heavier than the other, which woke him up from his sleep.

When he woke up, he found it was raining, so he quickly stood up and hid under the rock. He had grown taller in recent days, and he could just reach the top of the rock when he was standing, but now he had to squat down.

"Coo coo..."

When Xu Qiaoqiao realized that Jun Qi's wings had left, she hadn't reacted yet. She lay there in the rain, not knowing how to react.

After adjusting his position, Jun Qi noticed that the little white hedgehog in front of him was still getting wet in the rain. Realizing this, Jun Qi immediately tilted his upper body outward and picked Xu Qiaoqiao up.
