Chapter 603 - Miss Mole of the Fox

Later, Jun Qi and Xu Qiaoqiao looked for some suitable places to live, but none of them were satisfactory. If they wanted to live in a cave, Jun Qi would have to take matters into his own hands.

Foxes have legs that are typical of canines: short feet, clumsy paws, and short nails. Of course, they also lack the continuously growing incisors of moles, which they use to dig burrows.

These physical characteristics indicate that foxes are not good at digging burrows. This is not an easy task for them. What they can do is dig a shallow pit in the ground to bury their leftover food, or dig open mouse holes and take out the food inside.

Living in a burrow is actually the safest thing. For the fox's natural enemies, it is a very secluded dwelling, and it is also windproof and warm, making it an excellent choice for a safe haven.

But Jun Qi doesn't like it this way, and there's nothing that can be done about it.

Later, they found a pretty good place to stay, a tree hollow. The tree was very thick and looked very safe.

As it turned out, the tree hole was either moldy or infested with insects.

When Xu Qiaoqiao and Jun Qi saw this scene, they felt their hair stand on end and their scalps tingle.

No, I can't stay here even if I have nowhere else to live!

Xu Qiaoqiao and Jun Qi had the same thought at the same time: this kind of place really shouldn't be lived in.

Jun Qi looked somewhat disappointed. Xu Qiaoqiao sat on Jun Qi's head, holding a large leaf in her hand to block the sun. It was still summer, and although it would be cooler in the forest.

However, the sun was still very bright.

"Don't worry, we'll definitely find it. And even if we don't, haven't you been getting along well with Ikeli lately?" Xu Qiaoqiao continued to use the leaves to shield herself from the sunlight.

Jun Qi shook his head slightly; he still had the little mole on his head, so he couldn't make any big movements.

"He's going on a long trip."

"who?"

Xu Qiaoqiao immediately realized what was happening and tugged at Jun Qi's ear, "Ikeli is going on a long trip?"

What is he going out for?

Jun Qi hummed in agreement and continued as he drove Xu Qiaoqiao toward home, "It seems that he ran out of a fruit called Dragon Fruit. He's been short of it lately, and there aren't any in this forest, so he had to travel far away."

"Can't we ask a carrier pigeon to send it?" Xu Qiaoqiao continued to ask. She remembered that the carrier pigeons here were very powerful. She had seen them before. About five carrier pigeons worked together, carrying an extremely heavy package, and flew forward with great difficulty.

Jun Qi: "He said those things are not allowed to be transported by air like this. They are very precious, and there is a risk of accidents if they are transported by air."

"But why doesn't he grow his own fruit? That would be much more convenient. I saw that he already has a lot of fruit trees in his yard, didn't he?" Xu Qiaoqiao wondered. For her, if she lived in the deep mountains and forests like Ai Keli, she would have to be self-sufficient in many things.

Jun Qi arrived at Xu Qiaoqiao's house, lowered his head to let the little mole slowly climb down, rubbed his snout against her head, and then answered her question: "Because the soil here is not good enough, it doesn't meet the requirements."

"Did Ikeli tell you all of this?"

Jun Qi nodded. Ever since Ai Keli taught him to read, he has been talking more. Sometimes it sounds like he is talking to himself, and sometimes it seems like he is taking the initiative to start a conversation.

...

When Jun Qi returned, Ai Keli had already left the wooden house. The setting sun slanted into the window, casting a warm yellow light that looked very cozy.

The window was still open, and a gentle breeze slowly blew into the room.

The table was still a mess, looking like it hadn't been tidied up in a long time.

Jun Qi slightly gathered his strength in his hind legs, tucked his neck in slightly, and with a burst of energy, jumped onto the table where he usually lay. Only then did he notice a small bottle of purple medicine on the table, with a note underneath.

He leaned closer to take a look. The handwriting on it was somewhat messy and wild. It meant: Shrinking potion, the effect lasts for three days. I think you will need this. No need to thank me too much.

Jun Qi blinked curiously at the shrinking potion, suddenly remembering his conversation with the little mole. She said she wanted to invite him to her house to play, but the size difference between them was too great.

Xu Qiaoqiao's house was far too small for Jun Qi; it could probably only fit his head.

After thinking for three seconds, Jun Qi looked at the sky outside. It was obviously not completely dark yet. He took the bottle of medicine in his mouth and started running outside. Of course, he remembered to close the door while running, and then he ran towards a road.

As dusk approached, Jun Qi finally arrived at Xu Qiaoqiao's house. He carefully stepped on the grass, sat down, opened the bottle, drank the medicine inside, and waited for the right moment.

...

There was a knock on the door.

Xu Qiaoqiao was still eating her dinner when she heard a knock on the door. She was a little surprised. It was almost dark. Who would come over?

She walked to the doorway and looked through the opening.

—A fox.

Xu Qiaoqiao: "???"

A fox?

Are there foxes that small?

And he looks like a miniature version of Junjun.

"Little mole, it's me."

Is that Junjun's voice?

Without hesitation, Xu Qiaoqiao immediately opened the door and saw a miniature red fox standing in front of her. The fox looked about the same height as her, beckoned to her with its paws, and then pounced on her and hugged her.
