The sky gradually brightened.
The sunlight outside the window broke through the clouds and shone into the room. The furnishings in the luxurious ward also took on a touch of warmth under the morning sunlight.
Yun Ranran sat on the hospital bed and woke up from her dream, then she heard several knocks on the door outside the ward.
“Dongdongdong——”
“Come in!!”
She raised her hand to wipe the remaining tears from the corners of her eyes, then looked up towards the door and spoke.
The door of the ward was not locked, but ajar, and it opened as the handle turned.
Yun Ranran thought that it was Jiang Yan or a medical staff who showed up this morning, but she didn't expect that the next second the door was pushed open and someone she had never expected appeared.
"Jian Zifan, why are you here?" she asked hesitantly.
Jian Zifan walked into the ward wearing a casual white shirt and holding a bouquet of white lilies in his hand. When he heard Yun Ranran's words, he walked in and placed the flowers in his hand in the vase in front of the bed.
Then he stood up, looked up with a gentle smile on his lips and said: "I came by to see you, are you feeling better?"
Jian Zifan looked at Yun Ranran quietly with his light brown eyes, his expression showing some concern, as if he was simply passing by the hospital and came to see a sick friend.
Although Yun Ranran was a little surprised by Jian Zifan's appearance, she smiled and replied, "Thank you for coming to see me. I'm fine and should be able to be discharged soon."
"That's good. It's better not to stay in the hospital if possible." Jian Zifan said jokingly with his nose wrinkled.
Yun Ranran also smiled faintly when she heard this.
She looked at Jian Zifan, who was talking to her without any grudge in the ward, and thought of the dream she had before. She asked tentatively: "Zifan, how is your sister now?"
"My sister? Jian Yanwan?"
"Yeah." Yun Ranran nodded.
"She's in the hospital just like you, in the next ward. Why? Do you want to go see her?"
Jian Zifan turned his head to look at Yun Ranran with a strange look in his eyes.
Yun Ranran felt a little embarrassed by this look. She touched her face to make sure it was alright and then said:
"What...what happened? Can't I go and see?"
"It's not that I can't..." Jian Zifan rubbed his chin. "But my aunt is there right now. If you want to go over there, you'd better wait and don't run into her."
"Why?" Yun Ranran was puzzled.
"My aunt is a bit protective, and now you are..."
"What am I now?"
"...You are the one that my aunt believes pushed my sister into the water. If she sees you, she will probably give you trouble."
Jian Zifan scratched his hair and reminded with some concern.
It turned out that it happened at the Jiang family's cocktail party last night.
Yun Ranran and Jian Yanwan fell into the water and became unconscious. They were both sent to the hospital by ambulance. Several witnesses at the swimming pool said that it was Yun Ranran who pushed people into the water.
When Jian Yanwan's mother heard the news in the hospital, she planned to cause trouble for Yun Ranran, but Jiang Yan took the responsibility and the matter was dropped.
Jian Zifan didn't tell her the specific situation at that time, but Yun Ranran could tell from a few words that the reason she didn't get into trouble this time and was able to recover safely in the hospital was because of Jiang Yan's protection.
"Ranran, I also wanted to help you explain to your aunt that you wouldn't do this. There must be some misunderstanding, but she is the kind of person who refuses to listen to her once she makes up her mind..."
Jian Zifan was still explaining.
"Zifan, it's okay. I understand. Thank you for trusting me on this matter, and thank you for coming to see me today."
Upon hearing this, Yun Ranran smiled and thanked Jian Zifan, not letting him continue explaining.
After having that dream, she began to doubt what she had done, so she chatted with Jian Zifan for a few casual words and sent him away.
"Then I'll go first. Ranran, take care of yourself." Jian Zifan waved goodbye.
"Okay, I will." Yun Ranran agreed with a smile.
Watching Jian Zifan leave, she sat back on the bed thinking about the news Jian Zifan had just told her. Not long after, she heard footsteps getting closer and closer and coming into the ward.
"Jian Zifan just came here?" A cold and clear voice sounded.
When Yun Ranran heard this, she looked up and saw Jiang Yan standing in front of the ward with a unhappy look on his face.
He was wearing a silver-gray shirt today, a neatly tied tie around his neck, and a suit jacket of the same color as the shirt casually draped over his arm. He looked like he had just come out of a meeting.
Just standing there, he exuded a noble and aloof aura.
Seeing Yun Ranran was still silent, he strode in, stood beside the bed, looked her over and said:
"How are you? Are you feeling unwell?"
Yun Ranran was a little upset because of the information she had just received, but she couldn't help but take a few more glances at Jiang Yan's outfit. When she heard his caring words, she came back to her senses and waved her hand, saying:
"No, I feel fine now. Today..."
She stopped talking halfway when she thought of something and said, "Wait, actually... I have a problem and I might need a doctor's help."
Seeing her hesitant, Jiang Yan frowned and said worriedly:
"Yun Ranran, if you feel uncomfortable, just tell me and I'll call a doctor for you!"
"that is……"
Yun Ranran looked at Jiang Yan in surprise when she heard that.
A moment later.
Inside the psychological counseling room.
Yun Ranran lay on the recliner, trying to relax herself. She looked at the pocket watch slowly shaking in the doctor's hand and slowly closed her eyes.
"You are very tired and sleepy now. You really want to take a nap. You slowly fall asleep and sleep soundly. Then you dream of a swimming pool with very blue water..."
The psychiatrist's words were gentle and soothing.
