Deep in the mountains.
A group of people lined up neatly, running around the stream, shouting strange slogans from time to time: "One, two, one, one, two, one..."
It was not until the sun rose and the morning coolness completely dissipated that everyone was covered in sweat. Only then did the leader Wang Yong stop and call on everyone behind him to gather and line up.
Wang Miaomiao looked at the people standing in front of her and said, "Two people in a group, start close combat training."
As soon as the words fell, the people in the queue turned around tacitly, got into position and started fighting with their fists, attacking the opponents with all their might without holding back a single bit.
At this time, several days had passed since they went up the mountain, and the people in Dashi Village had barely adapted to life in the mountains.
Among them, the young and strong people in the village were organized into a guard team by Wang Miaomiao. Every day, they started some basic daily physical and disciplinary training based on some modern military knowledge she knew and the actual situation.
At this moment, she looked at the people fighting each other on the field, with some satisfaction in her eyes. After a few days of training, this group of people basically had the prototype of a team, able to obey orders and respond quickly.
Wang Miaomiao did not expect the Dashi Village Guard to be able to fight and kill the enemy. What mattered to her now was that they had the basic ability to protect themselves and could quickly cooperate with the command. This was considered a great improvement and met her expectations.
On the field, the fist-to-flesh fighting training didn't last long before the winner was basically decided.
Wang Miaomiao looked at everyone's performance and took note of a few of them who had performed well and made rapid progress in recent days, planning to train them as reserve captains.
Now in the guard team, she only has one deputy who is responsible for daily training, and that is Wang Yong, who is strong and experienced in hunting. However, there is a lack of suitable candidates for the lower divisions.
Wang Miaomiao plans to observe these people for a few more days, and if appropriate, start dividing them up to ensure that everyone's strength can be better utilized when facing danger in the future and to avoid chaos.
"Gather and return to the team!"
Wang Miaomiao said to everyone on the field.
"yes!"
Everyone responded in unison, and in a moment they quickly gathered into a formation.
Many people found this way of speaking and answering a bit strange at first, but as the slogans became a habit day by day, everyone gradually accepted it.
After standing in place, seeing that the queue was quite neat, Wang Miaomiao nodded slightly, and then began to arrange the hunting and patrol deployment in Bairi Village.
In the past few days, she and Wang Yong took turns, one responsible for hunting and the other for patrolling.
Today is different.
Wang Miaomiao planned to take more people down the mountain to investigate the situation and replenish some rice and food.
In the past few days, everyone in the mountain village has been eating barbecue every day. They are already tired of it and are all forcing themselves to endure it.
However, the rice and grain she had prepared in her storage compartment could not be taken out immediately. She had to take people down the mountain and find a reason to get the things out. This matter could not be delayed.
Wang Miaomiao looked at everyone and called out a few names: "Wang Zhuang, Li Quan, Wang Ergou, step out."
These three were all candidates for captain that she had observed to be making rapid progress and had some potential. This time, she led the team down the mountain, which was an opportunity to test these three.
The three of them took a step forward and left the line.
"The three of you will each lead six people and take turns patrolling the area around the mountain to protect the elderly and the weak in the village. Brother Wang Yong, you will still be responsible for leading half of the people out hunting today, and the rest will follow me down the mountain."
After she finished explaining the arrangements, the three people who were called out showed surprise and excitement on their faces, while Wang Yong nodded silently.
After a while, the group split into four teams.
Wang Yong took more than 20 people to go hunting in the forest first. As for the remaining three patrol teams, Wang Miaomiao arranged their respective patrol routes, ensuring that all dangerous places around them were covered, and then let them go out for patrol.
Apart from Wang Miaomiao, there are only five people left.
These five people were all specially selected by her because they were agile and patient, making them relatively suitable for going down the mountain to gather information. She glanced at them and said, "Wait here for a moment."
After Wang Miaomiao said this, she turned and went to the simple resting place built by the villagers not far away. The women, children and the elderly in the village were all staying here, preparing logistical matters for the guards.
At this moment, Father Wang was working with some frail elderly people and women to build and repair a large stove. Seeing his daughter hadn't gone out but had suddenly returned, he walked over and asked, "Miao Miao, why did you come here so suddenly?"
Wang Miaomiao stopped and explained, "Dad, I'm going to take some people down the mountain today. I've arranged for others to guard this part of the mountain. I came here just to tell you something."
"Go down the mountain?!" Old Man Wang was startled when he heard that. He frowned and looked at her, hesitantly saying, "Miao Miao, I wonder if those officers and soldiers down the mountain have left yet. Should we wait a few more days?"
"Don't worry, Dad. This time I brought people down the mountain mainly to gather information and inquire about the situation outside. There won't be any danger." She replied.
After hearing this, Old Man Wang remained silent.
"I don't think I'll be outside for too long this time. If I'm quick, I'll be back before sunset. It's up to you, Dad, to keep an eye on this side of the mountain." Wang Miaomiao explained with a smile.
Upon hearing this, Father Wang knew that she had made up her mind, so he could only nod and say, "Don't worry, I'm here."
Wang Miaomiao smiled.
She said hello without delay and turned to walk out, just then a voice called out from behind her: "Miss Wang, wait a moment."
Hearing this voice, Wang Miaomiao was a little slow to react before realizing that "Miss Wang" was calling her.
