Chapter 194 The Taoist Priest of Maoshan is Unwilling 24

Qingyun Temple.

On the top of Qianxiu Peak, which is located at the junction of Chuan City and the neighboring Yun City, its location is steep and few people go there. In order to facilitate the connection with some tasks at the foot of the mountain, the temple has set up a contact point at the scenic area at the foot of the mountain.

That’s right, Qianxiu Peak is a tourist area rated as a 5A-level scenic spot.

It happened to be the long holiday in October. After several hours of traffic jam on the highway, Ji Miaomiao and her master Daoming Zhenren finally got off the bus and entered the scenic area, where they were faced with a huge crowd of tourists coming to Qianxiu Peak.

Among thousands of tourists, the two were carried away by the crowd for nearly an hour, and finally found the contact point of Qingyun Temple at the foot of the mountain under the scorching sun.

The contact point is a two-story antique wooden building. It has a good location in the scenic area and is tastefully decorated. There is a constant stream of tourists coming to the door of the elegant wooden shop to buy some handmade souvenirs.

When Ji Miaomiao was pulled in by her master, some tourists who were picking things at the door looked at the two of them curiously, probably because they were curious about their Taoist robes that didn't fit in with their outfit.

Taoist Master Daoming seemed to be very familiar with this contact point. He walked across the counter and took Ji Miaomiao straight to the second floor. No one stopped them along the way.

As soon as you go up to the second floor, the first thing you see is a long wooden counter and a young Taoist priest dozing behind the counter.

“Bang, bang!”

Taoist Master Daoming knocked twice on the counter, waking the dozing person behind it. "Huh? Who is it? What's going on?"

"Junior Brother Xuanji, wake up." He stroked his long beard and reminded softly.

The young Taoist priest rubbed his eyes and raised his head to reveal a handsome and fair face. When he opened his eyes and saw Taoist Master Daoming and Ji Miaomiao standing in front of the counter, his originally hazy eyes instantly cleared up.

"Are you Uncle Daoming?" Xuan Ji asked hesitantly, with some uncertainty on his face.

Taoist Master Daoming nodded and said with a smile: "The last time I saw you, you were still a little kid. I didn't expect that after all these years, you still remember me."

Hearing this, Xuanji's handsome face smiled brightly yet shyly, revealing a pair of small canine teeth as he said, "Master Daoming, I have a very good memory. Besides, how could I forget that Taoist conference when you carried me all the way back to the temple?"

After saying this, he asked again: "What's the matter with you coming here so suddenly this time?"

"Well, there are some things." Taoist Master Daoming paused as he stroked his long beard, lowered his eyes, chuckled, and said, "This time, I brought my disciple Xuanjing to the temple to see Senior Brother Daoquan."

"Elder Daoquan?" Xuanji scratched his head when he heard this, then casually said with a smile, "I thought you were like those people from the Ganqing Temple, going to the temple to look for the abbot."

"Ganqing Temple?"

Taoist Daoming's tone carried an indescribable meaning: "What could possibly have caused them to send their disciples here? It's truly a case of the sun rising from the west."

"Uncle Master, you don't know, those guys came here this morning with their noses in the air and were very arrogant!" Xuanji said with an unconscious complaint on his face.

"You're full of the stench of money and karma, yet you're surrounded by a large group of people and you still have the nerve to call yourself a cultivator."

Seeing that he was quite angry, Taoist Master Daoming smiled and changed the subject: "Xuan Ji, let's not talk about them. We are on different paths from them. Is Senior Brother Daoquan up in the mountains right now?"

"Yes, a few days ago, Elder Daoquan brought Senior Brother Xuanzhen down the mountain and returned to the temple. He hasn't come out to take on any missions since then and has been practicing in the temple ever since."

"That's good. Xuanji, tell Brother Daoquan that I want to visit the temple."

"Okay, Uncle Daoming." Xuanji nodded in agreement.

Ji Miaomiao was standing nearby and saw him lower his head to write a note and roll it up. He picked up a wooden bird next to him and opened its back, revealing a hollow wooden grid. He put the note in and closed it.

Then he walked to the window, condensed a wisp of pure air in his hand and touched the wooden bird. The wooden bird, which looked like a toy, flapped its wings and flew away.

Seeing this, she couldn't help but show a bit of curiosity.

Xuan Ji turned his head and saw it, and smiled, revealing his two small canine teeth. He said enthusiastically: "Junior Sister Xuan Jing, this is a special message bird made by the temple. Do you want to play with it?"

When Ji Miaomiao heard this, she glanced at her master. Seeing that Daoming Zhenren was smiling and looking at her without saying anything, she asked, "Brother Xuanji, how did you make this bird? How can it fly by itself?"

When Xuan Ji heard this unexpected question, the smile on his face froze.

He originally thought that this new sister would want to play with it, but he didn't expect that the first question she asked was how the bird was made. This question really stumped him.

"This little bird... has special positioning runes engraved on it, so it can fly to the mountain." Xuan Ji thought hard and explained, then laughed it off, saying, "Junior sister, let me teach you how to play with this little bird. It's really fun."

After hearing this, Ji Miaomiao nodded out of courtesy and moved closer with a smile.

Xuanji took another wooden bird in his hand. After gathering a wisp of clear air at his fingertips and inputting it, the bird took a few slow steps, its clumsiness revealing a bit of cuteness.

"Junior sister, you can be like me."

"Okay, I'll try injecting a wisp of pure energy."

The two of them played with the bird for a while, watching it take a few steps from time to time after it regained its energy. They looked like two older, childish children.

Taoist Master Daoming stood aside and watched, stroking his long beard without saying a word.

Not long after, a man came up from the second floor.

"Uncle Daoming, Junior Sister Xuanjing, long time no see." Lu Xiaobai greeted her with a smile, then turned to look at Xuan Ji behind the counter and said, "Junior Brother, I'll take the person up the mountain."

"Okay." Xuan Ji hurriedly put the bird away, nodded and smiled.

"Master asked me to come and receive Uncle Master, Junior Sister, let's go."

Lu Xiaobai didn't notice his junior brother's little action. After saying hello, he took Daoming Zhenren and Ji Miaomiao out and took the sightseeing cable car up the mountain.

He didn't say much except for the introduction along the way. He had changed a lot, and there was a certain steadiness in his eyes and brows that was not there before.

After getting off the car, the three of them walked along a mountain road and came to a Taoist temple in black and white.

Ji Miaomiao was at the end of the three people. After walking up the steps of the Taoist temple, she looked up and saw three simple and elegant characters "Qingyun Temple" inscribed on the Taoist temple plaque. The characters were neat and round, with an indescribable charm.

The black wooden gate of the Taoist temple opens outward, and you can see lush pine trees and flat ground inside.

I didn't meet anyone else along the way.

Lu Xiaobai led the way inside, followed by Taoist Master Daoming, both of them walking very fast.

Ji Miaomiao didn't want to stop and look for long, so she took a few glances at the surroundings along the way, then followed the two of them through the front hall corridor to a small courtyard in the backyard.

The courtyard is quiet and simply decorated. Apart from a few rooms, there is a rockery, a pine tree and a stream.

The sound of flowing water is the only sound in the courtyard.
