The sun was high in the sky, and the air was scorching hot.
Chang Miaoer was awakened by the waves hitting her face. Her mouth was full of the bitter taste of river water. She couldn't help but half-kneel and vomit a few times.
Where is this?
She raised her hand to block the overly glaring sunlight in front of her eyes, and looked into the distance. In front of her was a river that shone with fine light gold in the sunlight, stretching as far as the eye could see.
Not far behind him, there were weeds and rocks, and he could vaguely see the end at a glance. It looked like a small deserted island.
A light breeze blew from the shore, and Chang Miaoer's wet dress was blown slightly, bringing some warmth to the parts of her body that were close to her body.
She took a few quick steps and reached the island. She turned her head and looked back at the waves approaching the shore, only to find another figure who was also half-submerged in the water.
Chang Miaoer frowned when she thought of Gu Ziyuan, whom she had pulled down before he fell into the water.
After hesitating for a moment, she cautiously stepped forward to take a closer look. He was wearing a blue robe embroidered with cloud patterns, and his long black hair was tied up with a jade crown. The figure from behind was unmistakable, it was Gu Ziyuan.
She pulled him ashore and turned him over, revealing Gu Ziyuan's handsome and delicate features. His wet hair stuck to both sides of his jade-like face. Perhaps because he was unconscious, he looked somewhat well-behaved.
The wound on Gu Ziyuan's body was still oozing blood. It was dim at night and Chang Miaoer couldn't see clearly, but now in the bright sunlight, she could see the wound on his hand where the bone was almost visible.
Chang Miaoer thought of the time when Gu Ziyuan pulled her away from the attack on the boat. Her hair was blown by the wind, and the corners of her lips were tightly pursed, with a look of confusion in her eyes.
Gu Ziyuan tied her up and ordered her around in various ways. She undoubtedly endured it every day and was always looking for an opportunity to leave. However, Gu Ziyuan rescued her on the boat, so she owed him a favor.
At this moment, Gu Ziyuan was unconscious. If she ignored him, she would be in great danger and she would not be able to get over the hurdle in her heart.
Chang Miaoer tucked her hair behind her ears, sighed, reached out and dragged his arm to continue walking towards the shore.
…
The night is dark.
The crackling sound of the fire could be heard from time to time.
Chang Miaoer built a wooden rack and hung her wet coat on it to dry.
Gu Ziyuan, who had been comatose for a whole day, slowly opened his eyes at this moment. He moved his fingers and his body slowly regained consciousness.
"Are you awake?"
He looked up in the direction of the voice and saw Chang Miaoer sitting by the fire with her back against a big rock.
The firelight was reflected in her eyes. She glanced at him, then raised her head and gestured to the side: "Eat some fruit when you wake up."
Gu Ziyuan looked in the direction she pointed and found several unknown fruits wrapped in leaves.
He didn't eat the fruit but looked around first and found two people in an open space in the wild. There was a wooden rack next to the campfire to dry clothes.
Gu Ziyuan looked at the wound on his arm again. It had been bandaged. The fabric looked like a lining torn from somewhere.
He looked at Chang Miao'er opposite him and chuckled, his voice a little hoarse: "I thought you were going to kill me, but I didn't expect you to be such a good person."
There was something strange in the tone.
Chang Miao'er used a stick to stir the fire to make it burn more fiercely. After hearing what he said, she looked up at Gu Ziyuan and said, "Since you saved me once, I won't kill you while you're unconscious. Saving you this time is also a return of favor. You don't have to test me."
She spoke directly, not bothering to guess what the man was thinking.
Anyway, after tonight, Chang Miaoer planned to separate from him, and they would each find their own way out without getting in each other's way.
Gu Ziyuan didn't say anything for a long time, and the smile on his face was rare. He looked at the wound on his arm, not knowing what he was thinking. His profile showed a bit of indifference in the firelight.
Warmed by the fire, Chang Miaoer stretched her body, trying to dry out all the underwear she had on.
Seeing that Gu Ziyuan didn't touch the wild fruits, she stood up, walked over, picked up the wild fruits, and picked one up to start eating.
This island was desolate, and it was just right that Gu Ziyuan didn't eat the fruit she had finally found, so she ate it herself.
In the firelight, the only sound was Chang Miaoer chewing fruit.
Gu Ziyuan sat with his legs half bent, his eyes cast over lightly, his expression moving slightly.
After a while, he said, "Give me one."
"What?"
When Chang Miaoer heard this, she turned around and looked at the slightly awkward expression on Gu Ziyuan's face. Surprise flashed in her eyes. She handed the fruit in her hand to him and kept one for herself.
"Here, eat it."
The fruit was not tasty, it was sour and astringent and could only barely quench thirst, but she gave it to him very generously.
Gu Ziyuan took it, picked up one and slowly started to chew it. The sourness of the fruit made him frown slightly.
He glanced at Chang Miao'er who was also slowly chewing the fruit on the other side, and suddenly said, "Chang Miao'er, what are you going to do next?"
Chang Miaoer was stunned and didn't say anything.
She planned to go her separate ways next, so it was unnecessary to say this.
Gu Ziyuan didn't wait for her to speak, and said in a low voice: "Let's make a deal. You escort me to the capital, and we'll write off everything that happened before."
Chang Miaoer raised her eyes and stared at him.
Under the firelight, Gu Ziyuan's eyes were dark. He looked at her and chuckled, "I can let you go. I guarantee your father won't pursue the matter. You can continue to be Miss Chang San. How about that?"
These words were undoubtedly very touching. Chang Miao'er's heart moved, but she said cautiously: "I know nothing about your identity, how can I believe the promise you made."
Gu Ziyuan raised an eyebrow and said calmly, "Just because I'm the Prince of Pingyang, Gu Ziyuan, is this identity enough to guarantee it?"
Chang Miaoer was startled and looked over. Gu Ziyuan looked at her indifferently. Their eyes met, and Chang Miaoer looked away after a few seconds.
"Gu Ziyuan, if you want to cooperate, you need to be sincere. Return your internal energy to me first," she said.
A small porcelain bottle was thrown over by Gu Ziyuan, and Chang Miaoer raised her hand to catch it.
Gu Ziyuan said, "Smell it."
Chang Miaoer opened the bottle and a faint fragrance wafted out. She sniffed it lightly, closed her eyes and adjusted her breathing for a moment, but there was no change in her body.
She was about to open the small porcelain bottle again when Gu Ziyuan coldly reminded her, "Just once, sniffing it again will be harmful to your health!"
Upon hearing this, Chang Miao'er handed the small porcelain bottle back and asked in confusion, "Why hasn't my internal energy reacted yet?"
Gu Ziyuan didn't look at her, and said in a flat tone: "This thing can only eliminate the effect of the medicine. You need to cultivate your internal strength again."
"What did you say?" Chang Miaoer glared at him coldly.
Isn't the effect of this damn thing really going to trick her?
How long will it take her to rebuild her internal energy now?! What kind of antidote is this?!
"There is an antidote for Hua Gong San. Your recovery speed will be much faster, so there is no need to be so anxious." Gu Ziyuan explained.
Chang Miaoer really wanted to shake the water out of Gu Ziyuan's head and let him listen to what he was saying. It was not him who rebuilt the relationship.
She sneered and began to sit cross-legged in the night to practice the Green Water Technique again.
