Chapter 12 Whose Mother Has It Hard, Who Should You Look For?

"Give me some money, and I'll go buy it," Zhao Zhiwei's mother then said, reaching out her hand to Mo Qian.

“I’ve given you quite a bit before, and you don’t go out, so you shouldn’t be short of money for groceries,” Mo Qian said calmly to Zhao Zhiwei’s mother.

"Stop dawdling, let's go buy it now. It's getting late, and who knows what time it will be by the time it's done."

Mo Qian then glanced at her watch and said impatiently to Zhao Zhiwei's mother.

"You! You've gone too far!" Zhao Zhiwei's mother finally couldn't take it anymore and said angrily.

"Excessive? How is it excessive?"

"Didn't you treat me the same way before?"

“Back then, I was sick with a high fever of 40 degrees Celsius, but you still made me go out to buy groceries and cook.”

"Now it's your turn, and you can't stand it?" Mo Qian said to Zhao Zhiwei's mother with a sneer.

"Don't be so hypocritical!" Mo Qian then gave Zhao Zhiwei's mother a cold look.

After receiving a look from Mo Qian, Zhao Zhiwei's biological mother shrank back slightly and then stopped arguing with Mo Qian.

Instead, he tidied up, grabbed the money, and went out.

After leaving home, his face looked terrible, and his brows were tightly furrowed.

As I passed a fitness equipment area, I saw three or five women who were about the same age as Zhao Zhiwei's biological mother chatting.

When Zhao Zhiwei's biological mother saw someone she knew, she looked a little embarrassed and pretended not to see them, trying to leave quickly.

After all, she had previously boasted to them about how to discipline her daughter-in-law, but now that she had lost to Mo Qian, she didn't really want to see them.

However, Zhao Zhiwei's biological mother tried to avoid them, but those older women had very sharp eyes.

"Zhiwei's mom, come quick! We were just talking about you. It's been days since we last saw you. Come on, let's have a chat."

An older woman with sharp eyes spotted Zhao Zhiwei's biological mother and immediately called out to her, waving her hands around.

Upon hearing the woman's voice, the others also turned to look at Zhao Zhiwei's mother.

They were all shouting.

"Zhiwei's mom, what have you been doing at home these past few days? You haven't come out to chat with your old friends."

"I'm so glad to finally see you today! Come on, come on, we've been waiting for you."

“Zhiwei’s mother, we were just talking about you. Come and tell us how you made your daughter-in-law so filial.”

...

Seeing that she couldn't avoid it, Zhao Zhiwei's biological mother had no choice but to abandon her original plan and greet the group of old friends.

"You're all here. I have something to do. We'll talk later," Zhao Zhiwei's mother said with a smile to her group of old friends.

There was no trace of his previous rage.

"What else could you possibly have to do? I know perfectly well that no one has more free time than you."

"Why don't you hurry up and invite her here? Ask Zhiwei's mother for advice on how to get along with her daughter-in-law and make her obedient and filial."

One of the older women then spoke, a slight smile on her face.

Upon hearing this, the other women all walked towards Zhao Zhiwei's mother.

"Zhiwei's mother, please tell us your story."

"My daughter-in-law is making a huge fuss at home, please teach me how to handle this."

"Once your daughter-in-law becomes more filial, just let me know if anything comes up in the future."

...

The women then surrounded Zhao Zhiwei's mother, each chattering away.

Zhao Zhiwei's biological mother, upon hearing what these middle-aged women said, looked somewhat ashamed.

In the past, she would have talked for three days and three nights, but now, she is too embarrassed to open her mouth.

After all, the situation has now reversed, and she has been suppressed.

I'm too ashamed to say those things like I used to.

"Let's talk about it later. I really have something to do. Why don't you ask Aunt Zhang? She knows everything I said," Zhao Zhiwei's mother said, declining after seeing Aunt Zhang standing nearby.

"That's all for now, I'll be going now, we'll talk again later." Then, Zhao Zhiwei's biological mother pushed people aside and was about to leave.

“It’ll only take a little while, it won’t take you much effort,” one of the older women said immediately.

"Tell me quickly, how do I deal with my daughter-in-law? I really can't stand her anymore."

"Ever since she married into the family, she hasn't cooked or washed the dishes. She's always glued to her phone. If she didn't know how to eat, we'd probably have to serve her food to keep her from starving."

An older woman, her face showing anxiety and distress, complained to Zhao Zhiwei's mother.

"If you have any good ideas, please teach me quickly. I still have some smoked sausages. I'll get you some later."

"Aunt Li, I... I can't think of any good solutions right now, and besides, every family's situation is different."

"My method might not be suitable for your family," Zhao Zhiwei's mother then said jokingly, a hint of embarrassment on her face.

"Zhiwei's mother, just say whatever you want. Whether it works or not, I'll be grateful to you." Aunt Li then added.

"That's right, that's right. Zhiwei's mom, you should talk to Sister Li about it. Look how worried Sister Li has been these past two days, she hasn't had a smile on her face at all."

"Zhiwei's mother, tell us quickly, we'd like to hear it too, we might need it."

"What do you need help with? We'll help you out later. Tell us about it first."

...

After hearing the words of so many of her old friends, Zhao Zhiwei's mother looked somewhat troubled, but seeing that she couldn't avoid it any longer, she had no choice but to confront it head-on.

"The most important thing to do if you want your daughter-in-law to be filial is to keep her in check!"

"How do we suppress it?" Aunt Li asked hurriedly, her face showing a hint of urgency.

"First of all, you need to show the demeanor of a mother-in-law and be more assertive than her."

"Secondly, when you suppress your daughter-in-law, you must be reasonable and have a basis for it, occupying the moral high ground. As a mother-in-law, you have the right to discipline your daughter-in-law."

"Of course, the most important thing is that you have to get your son on the same side as you."

...

After Zhao Zhiwei's mother was unable to leave, she could only bring up her previous theories again.

The other middle-aged women nearby listened quietly to Zhao Zhiwei's mother without interrupting, with Aunt Li listening the most attentively.

Just as everyone was immersed in what Zhao Zhiwei's biological mother had said, a voice suddenly came from afar!
