Chapter 4 The Eldest Princess, Equal Creation of the Scum 4

Mo Qian left the palace after having a meal with the original owner's father, the emperor, and the empress.

“Princess, dismissing the prince consort without consulting him may affect your relationship.” Jinzhu frowned slightly, her expression showing concern for Mo Qian.

"Don't worry, it won't have any impact. We didn't have any feelings for each other to begin with, so how could it have any impact?" Mo Qian said coldly.

"To be honest, don't you think it's unfair that the former prince consort used his status to make things easier in the court, but treated me with disdain?"

"Now that he has been dismissed from his post and is living in his residence, it has a unique charm."

“From now on, he will only be able to rely on me. Let’s see if he will still be as disrespectful to me as before.” Mo Qian’s face showed a hint of indifference.

“The princess is right. The princess is indeed of noble birth, but the prince consort always acts as if the princess is coercing him. This servant feels indignant for the princess.”

"After all, the princess had made so many efforts for the prince consort, but he turned a blind eye to them."

“In that case, we might as well follow our hearts,” Hongxiu said, agreeing.

"Call me when you arrive at the manor." Mo Qian then closed her eyes to rest.

Upon seeing this, Jinzhu and Hongxiu, who were standing nearby, both quieted down.

Not long after,

Then they arrived at the Princess's residence.

"Princess, wake up, we've arrived," Jinzhu called softly.

"Hmm." Mo Qian opened her eyes, then got off the carriage and entered the mansion, heading towards her residence.

Not long after they sat down, the prince consort stormed in, his face contorted with rage.

"Princess, what do you mean by this? Why do you want the Emperor to dismiss me from my post?!"

"Your Highness, you have overstepped your bounds," Mo Qian said coldly.

"I was a little emotional and was impolite. I shouldn't have questioned the princess."

"However, may I ask why the princess did this?" Pei Shangxuan stared intently at Mo Qian.

His face looked terrible.

"Isn't this good? You won't have to worry about those things anymore, and you'll have time to enjoy your leisure."

Mo Qian played with the white jade lotus cup wrapped in gold bracelet on her wrist, speaking casually.

“Princess, a man’s duty is to relieve the king’s worries, and his duty is to speak up for the people. How can he indulge in pleasure?”

"Please, Princess, petition the Emperor to rescind his decree."

After suppressing his anger, Pei Shangxuan spoke to Mo Qian in a gentle tone.

They were trying to change Moqian's perception.

“That won’t do. The imperial decree has already been issued; how can it be easily revoked? If that were the case, where would the emperor’s dignity be?” Mo Qian said with a serious expression.

"Since it's already a done deal, the prince consort shouldn't think about it anymore."

"In this country, there are many people who can relieve the emperor's worries and speak up for the people. Our Anxia Kingdom is full of talented people. The lack of a prince consort is not a problem."

"Now that you've entered the Princess's residence, you should understand what you should be doing best."

"Don't put the cart before the horse," Mo Qian said coldly.

"Thank you for clearing up my doubts, Your Highness. I was confused before and made many oversights. Please forgive me."

Upon hearing Mo Qian's words, Pei Shangxuan felt a surge of anger.

He wasn't some sycophantic gigolo; he was a top scholar who passed the imperial examinations and entered officialdom!

How dare the princess treat him with such contempt! It's utterly despicable!

However, Pei Shangxuan was not blinded by anger. Knowing that the person in front of him was the most favored princess of Anxia Kingdom, he dared not be as negligent as before.

Especially when he sensed that the princess's attitude towards him had changed and that he was somewhat dissatisfied.

"Okay, I'm tired, you can go now." Mo Qian waved to Pei Shangxuan.

"Yes, Your Highness, I'll be leaving now." After saying that, Pei Shangxuan left Mo Qian's room.

However, his fingers were clenched tightly under his sleeves, and his knuckles were white.

"It seems that people are all despicable. When we were nice to him, he ignored us and treated us coldly."

“Now that we don’t take him seriously anymore, he’s actually learned to follow the rules,” Mo Qian said with a sigh.

I wonder what the original owner would think if he saw what happened just now.

“The princess is absolutely right,” Hongxiu chimed in.

"The princess has done so much for the prince consort, yet he is not grateful at all, wasting the princess's good intentions."

"They even disregarded the princess's dignity. Now that the princess's attitude has changed, the prince consort is able to treat her with respect."

"The princess is truly amazing," Hongxiu praised with a smile.

"Stop being so cheeky. If the princess remembers today and feels sorry for the prince consort, she'll probably regret it," Jinzhu said from the side.

Logically speaking, Jinzhu had seen too much of how considerate the original owner was to Pei Shangxuan, and did not believe that Mo Qian was truly disgusted with the prince consort at this time, but was acting out of spite.

Once their anger subsides, they'll probably regret it.

Logically, this would be true, since the original owner still had feelings for Pei Shangxuan. However, now that it's Mo Qian, this naturally wouldn't happen.

"Jinzhu, go find some storybooks. Hongxiu, go to the kitchen and have someone make a dessert and bring it over."

Then, Mo Qian interrupted Jin Zhu and Hong Xiu's argument, shook her head helplessly and smiled.

Instead of arguing about these pointless things, we should find something to do.

"Yes, Your Highness." The two replied and then left the room.

Mo Qian, who remained behind, had a thoughtful look on her face.

The reason she thought of dismissing Pei Shangxuan was to prepare for her future plans.

After all, if Pei Shangxuan were still an official of the imperial court, she would inevitably be constrained. If she crossed the line, a bunch of remonstrating officials would probably impeach her again.

Although she wasn't afraid, it was better to avoid trouble if possible.

The reason we're not in a hurry to subdue Pei Shangxuan is that we want to show him.

He was able to befriend and entertain other officials because of his status as the husband of the Princess, not because he believed he had the talent of a top scholar and was appreciated by others.

After all, there are top scholars every year, so they are not particularly rare.

Strike him where he's most proud!

He only received so much courtesy because he was attached to the Princess's mansion. In his previous life, he dared to defy his superiors. It was simply hateful.

As Mo Qian thought of this, a deep glint flashed in her eyes.
