Chapter 21 The Era of the Brother-Supporting Demon (Part 21)

"Oh my god! This is really going to kill me!"

When Lin Xue came out of the public restroom, covering her nose, she felt like she was being completely overwhelmed by the smell.

After leaving the state-run restaurant, she wandered around the streets and finally found the entrance to the black market, clearly wanting to go in and take a look.

Moreover, she brought some of her hunted prey with her this time. If she didn't sell her prey, where would she get the money?

We used to eat whole grains for health; now we eat them to survive.

But if she had a choice, Lin Xue wouldn't want to eat whole grains every day; she preferred refined grains that were delicious and easy to digest!

I finally found an empty public restroom and changed my clothes.

But the smell in the toilet was so overwhelming that Lin Xue felt that if she was any slower, she might be overwhelmed by the stench.

After leaving the restroom, I quickly moved away from the location of the public restroom, and only then did I feel a little better.

Lin Xue slung her basket over her shoulder and headed toward the black market.

At this moment, Lin Xue had dressed herself up as a woman in her forties or fifties.

His face was covered with wrinkles, his lips were pale, and his skin was sallow.

She wore a green headscarf that completely covered her black hair. It was exactly the same headband that Wang's eldest sister-in-law, Liu Suqin, wore when she first arrived.

It is said that this was bought by Grandma Wang for her daughters-in-law, and the style and color are exactly the same.

Lin Xue disagreed with Old Mrs. Wang's taste, but she only had so many supplies and couldn't find a second headscarf.

There's no other way but to make do with it.

What are you doing?

As soon as Lin Xue reached the alley entrance, she saw two burly men walking towards her.

"I was introduced by an acquaintance, and I'd like to exchange some things!"

Lin Xue didn't hide anything; she had seen people go in before, but these two burly men had stopped them as well.

"Is it in or out?"

The burly man looked Lin Xue up and down before asking a question.

"Out, and in!"

Lin Xue answered honestly that she had never been to the black market before, but if there was anything she liked, she would definitely buy some.

"A dime!"

After hearing Lin Xue's explanation, the burly man stretched out a hand.

Lin Xue quickly handed over a dime, and then the two let her in.

As you walk into the alley, you soon see many people setting up small stalls.

Lin Xue carried her basket and walked along the road. She first looked at the other people's stalls, and finally found a spot to sell the things she had brought!

"Auntie, what are you selling here?"

I had barely squatted down when someone came to ask me about it.

Lin Xue didn't say anything, but simply moved the burlap sack covering the opening of the basket a little so that the other person could see what was inside.

"Oh my god!"

The man seemed startled by what was in Lin Xue's basket, then realized he had overreacted and quickly covered his mouth and squatted down.

Unfortunately, his statement was so striking that quite a few people have already noticed it.

"Auntie, how much do you sell these for?"

The person asking the price was a middle-aged man in his thirties. He was not tall, had a square face, and was wearing a Zhongshan suit. Although he was not fat, his complexion was ruddy, and he seemed to come from a well-off family!

"Pheasant is 3.5 yuan each, rabbit is 4 yuan, no tickets needed, no bargaining!"

The two items Lin Xue took out were not sold by anyone else on the black market.

She didn't know if she was making a profit or a loss by setting the price. She had set it based on the price she had previously received for selling wild boar meat at the old house, and by estimating the weight of the pheasant and rabbit.

"Auntie, could you give me a discount?"

"If you can lower the price, I'll take them all!"

The man gritted his teeth. Wild animals are not common. If he hadn't approached this unfamiliar woman immediately, he probably wouldn't have gotten this good deal.

No bargaining!

Lin Xue remained expressionless and coldly uttered three words.

Judging from the man's reaction, the wild animals he was selling weren't expensive. Presumably, even without a price reduction, the man would have bought them all.

"Alright then!"

"I'll take all of these. Let's calculate the total cost!"

The man noticed several figures moving in his direction out of the corner of his eye. He didn't dare delay, fearing that others would find out he was selling wild game and try to take it from him.

They immediately settled the ownership of these prey with Lin Xue.

"Three pheasants, three yuan and fifty cents each. Two rabbits, four yuan each!"

"That's eighteen yuan and fifty cents in total!"

The two quickly completed the transaction and then went their separate ways.

Lin Xue quickly bought the items she had previously selected, including several old-looking bowls and plates. Lin Xue assumed they were antiques and bought them at the price of ordinary broken bowls.

There's also a pickling jar, the kind with a lid.

All you need is a clay pot and a hoe; just attach a handle to it when you get home and you're good to go!

The blade of the wood-chopping knife was worn down, clearly indicating that the owner had used it for several years!

Two jin of mung beans—this was sold by an older man who came after her, and she only managed to buy them by squeezing to the front of the line with her strength.

A few pairs of work gloves and a piece of floral fabric; this must be a worker from a textile factory selling defective products.

Lin Xue saw that there were several pieces, but unfortunately, the elderly women and men around her were also quite strong, and she only managed to snatch one piece with her superhuman strength.

Sure enough, when it comes to shopping, even a strong woman can't beat the fighting power of the older women.

She usually looks delicate and frail, and even her walking is a little unsteady.

When they encounter a bargain, they run faster and stronger than anyone else.

She had heard in her previous life that the aunties in the vegetable market and shopping mall were the most dangerous people in the world to mess with.
