"Is your wife home?"
Lin Xue knocked on the door of the Wang family's house, but it wasn't her teacher's wife who opened the door; it was Wang Shengli who did.
"Senior brother, you can walk on the ground now?"
Lin Xue looked at Wang Shengli, who was leaning on crutches; the cast on his right leg had been removed.
"I just got the cast yesterday, and I was thinking of asking Heping to tell you in the next couple of days, but I didn't expect you to come over here!"
Before Gu Heping returned to Gujia Village, he lived at Lao Wang's house.

Lin Xue followed behind the old lady of the Wang family, helping her with the preparations. After cleaning up the dishes, she started cooking mixed grain rice.
After the rice was cooked, the two of them went to sit under the eaves for a while to cool off, and only started cooking when it was getting dark.
Gu Heping and his master Lao Wang returned together at noon.
