It wasn't until everyone saw the donkey behind Lin Xue that they realized Li Dagui had misunderstood.

My excitement gradually subsided, and by then half an hour had passed.
"Mom, you're amazing! In this remote mountain area, not only can my third brother not run fast, but even I can't run fast. I never thought you could catch the donkey and bring it back!"
Li Dagui fawned over Lin Xue, showering her with flattery, patting her shoulders and massaging her legs.

He Ahui spoke cautiously; even if she wanted to steam a sweet potato for her, she had to get Lin Xue's permission first.
"No rush. I just went with the third brother to check out the surrounding terrain. There should be a water source less than half an hour from here!"
"Let's pack up and get to a place with a water source first, then we can start cooking!"
Lin Xue glanced discreetly into the space; the digital watch showed the time as 6:50.
In the morning, when the weather is cool, it's more comfortable to walk.
It would be better for the family to walk a bit first, and then start making breakfast once they reach the place she had previously scouted.
"We'll listen to Mother. Everything's packed, and we're ready to go anytime!"
The Li family's luggage was always neatly organized after use, in case of any unexpected events or when they were in a hurry to get going and didn't have time to pack their things.
Since they didn't bring many things with them, they were reluctant to throw away any of them, so they developed a good habit of tidying up immediately after using something.
"Eldest brother, second brother, tie your baskets to the donkey!"
"Later, you two help your wives carry the babies, so your wives can have some rest too!"
Lin Xue glanced at the belongings in front of her and gave a series of instructions to her family.
No one dared to disobey. When they set off again, apart from the two baskets on the donkey's back, only the men were carrying things on their backs.
The three women traveled light; even Lin Xue's small basket was hung on the donkey.
"I thought the donkey wouldn't be happy to carry things, but it didn't resist at all!"
Li Sangui glanced at the donkey carrying a basket, then at his two sisters-in-law who had been freed.
A slightly silly smile appeared on his face.
"Didn't you see the donkey still has its harness on? It must have escaped from a group of refugees!"
Li Dazhuang rolled his eyes at his silly younger brother, but his gaze towards the donkey was so sticky it was almost cloying.
"Brother, we need to check the donkey carefully later to see if there are any unusual markings."
"We'll inevitably run into other people along the way, so we can't let them recognize the donkey at a glance!"
Li Ergui's heart was not as relaxed as his eldest brother's and third brother's.
If the donkey's former owner saw this, and given that they had a large and powerful group, they would have no choice but to return it.

Li Ergui was overjoyed to finally be praised by his mother. He smiled broadly and rubbed his hands together repeatedly, clearly beaming with happiness.

I just praised him a couple of times, and he immediately reverted to his old ways.
Lin Xue sighed and rubbed her forehead in exasperation.
"Ah Hui, come here for a second!"
After walking for a while, Lin Xue smacked her lips, took out a piece of candy, and threw it into her mouth.
Looking at the others, sigh!
Fine, I won't eat it all by myself this time. Let those brats have it!
Lin Xue, who was walking in the middle, called out to He Ahui in front of her.

Liu Taozi walked nervously to Lin Xue's side, feeling uneasy, wondering why her mother-in-law had called her over.
