"Stop thief!"
Just as Lin Xue and her companion were enjoying their stroll and meal, an older woman's exclamation caught their attention.
Although most people in the world have started using mobile payments, there are still many older people who do not know how to use smartphones and still choose to pay with cash.
Therefore, the woman who screamed must belong to the latter category, which is why she was targeted by the thief.
"You to the left, I'll go to the right!"
Lei Jing saw the thief running towards them and gave Lin Xue a wink!
"good!"
Lin Xue placed the snacks in her hand on the table next to the stall and then took a step to the right.
"Get out of my way, all of you get out of my way, or don't blame my knife for being merciless!"
The one rushing over was a boy of about seventeen or eighteen years old, with a buzz cut and a prominent dragon tattoo on his arm. He looked like a delinquent youth who hung out in the streets.
"Didn't you hear me tell you to get out of the way?"
Because the boy had a knife, pedestrians on the street all backed away and dodged.
Only Lin Xue and Lei Jing blocked the boy's path, showing no intention of avoiding him.
"Ha, don't they know that villains die from talking too much?"
Lin Xue reached forward with her right hand and caught the blade of the knife in the boy's hand. With a forceful pull, she broke the gleaming fruit knife in two.
It was this moment that made Lin Xue realize that the young man didn't seem to have any intention of hurting anyone. When she reached out, he subconsciously changed the direction of the blade.
Of course, whether it was a coincidence or something the boy did intentionally is unknown.
"(⊙o⊙) Wow!"
"Mom, that lady knows kung fu!"
"Wow, this girl is so cool! I love her!"
Ignoring the gasps of surprise from those around her, Lin Xue gave Lei Jing a wink.
After receiving a signal from Lin Xue, Lei Jing kicked the boy in the buttocks, sending him sprawling to the ground.
Then I went up and used a reverse grappling technique on him, firmly controlling him.
Wow, so cool! This girl knows kung fu too!
"Mom, Mom! What you said before was a lie. Kung Fu really does exist in this world!"
"I wonder what school or style these ladies studied under? I really want to learn from them too!"
The surrounding chatter grew louder, and some of the younger children stared intently at Lin Xue and Lei Jing.
"Can someone call the police for me?"
Lin Xue noticed that the people around her were just watching, and no one thought of calling the police.
"Oh, hello little girl, thank you so much for today!"
"If you guys hadn't stopped him, I wouldn't have been able to get all these things back!"
Seeing that no one wanted to call the police for them, Lin Xue had no choice but to take out her phone herself.
Just as she was about to dial the number, an elderly woman came running up, panting.
"Auntie, is this your wallet?"
Lei Jing snatched a small handbag from the thief and asked the old lady who had chased after her.
Yes, yes!
"I took my grandson out shopping today, and who would have thought that this bastard would snatch my bag? If I don't get my wallet back, we won't have money to pay for the food we ordered!"
The old woman took the wallet and examined it carefully, muttering to herself as she did so.
"Thank you so much, young ladies! If it weren't for you two, I might have been accused of dine and dash!"
“My little grandson is still sitting at that stall over there. Why don’t we go over there and I’ll treat you two to rice noodles!”
After checking her wallet and finding that all the cash inside was there, the old lady finally smiled kindly.
It's good that nothing was lost. They are just an ordinary family, and the few hundred yuan in this bag represents more than half a month's living expenses for them.
If I really lost the money today, I don't know how much my son and daughter-in-law would complain when I got home!
"Auntie, I'm glad your things weren't stolen, but what do you think should be done with the thief?"
Do you need me to call the police for you?
Lin Xue waved her phone, asking the old woman for her opinion. After all, it was the old woman who had been robbed, so whether or not to call the police was mainly up to her.
Lei Jing didn't say anything at this point. Even if the old lady didn't need them to call the police, she decided to wait and have her friend come over to arrest the thug and teach him a lesson.
"Hey, actually I know this kid too!"
"He's a pitiful child too. His family is all gone, and he's wandering the city all by himself. It's really quite pitiful!"
The old woman looked closely at the hoodlum's face, and finally sighed and shook her head.
"Auntie, he stole your wallet, aren't you angry?"
Lei Jing disagreed with the old woman's actions. No matter what the child's reasons were, it was wrong to snatch things.
"How could I not be angry!"
"If this were anyone else, I would definitely call the police and send him to the station for a lesson!"
"But this child..."
"Well, if you two young ladies want to know, let's go sit down over there and talk about it slowly!"
The old woman glanced again at the young man who was being trampled under Lei Jing's feet.
It seems they genuinely couldn't bear it and wanted to let the other person go.
“Come with us. If you don’t have a reason that can convince me, even if the old lady doesn’t care about you, we’ll send you to the police station for a good talking to!”
Lei Jing did not want to let the child off so easily; she knew in her heart that indulging the child would only make these people more unscrupulous.
