Chapter 216: Child, Don’t Move

As I walked to the candlelight, I heard a voice from behind: "Ouch!"

Zhou Jing'an turned around in panic and saw Jiang Ling frowning and biting her lower lip. He was startled and ran over in three or two steps, extremely anxious.

"What's wrong? Where do you feel uncomfortable?"

Seeing Jiang Ling holding her stomach, he didn't dare to touch her. He hurriedly tried to put on his outer robe. Just as he was about to call Ye Song to ask for the imperial physician, he was stopped by Jiang Ling.

Jiang Ling looked up at him in surprise, pointed to her stomach, and whispered, "She/he kicked me."

Zhou Jing'an was stunned and breathed a sigh of relief, but he was very unfamiliar with this kind of scene and had never experienced it before. He hesitated and sat down next to her.

Jiang Ling pulled his hand and placed it on her belly, and Zhou Jing'an felt a sudden bulge in his belly under his palm, as if something had hit him.

He opened his eyes wide in surprise and even breathed lightly.

Zhou Jing'an stroked his belly gently with some anticipation in his eyes. Finally, the little guy in his belly moved again and pressed against the palm of his hand.

His eyes sparkled and he couldn't help but smile.

"Ling'er..."

Jiang Ling smiled at his appearance and said softly, "This is fetal movement."

She is five months pregnant and it is time for the fetus to move, but it may be too late.

The two were extremely curious about the little one in the belly and waited patiently for him/her to move again.

But the little guy might be sleepy, or he was too disdainful to play games with two childish and boring adults, so he became quiet.

Zhou Jing'an couldn't help but purse his lips, feeling a little unsatisfied.

Jiang Ling chuckled, "She/he might be tired and will move again later."

Zhou Jing'an nodded, covered her with the quilt and was about to extinguish the candle. Halfway through, he suddenly stopped, turned back, and looked at her nervously.

"Ling'er, does it hurt?"

He remembered Jiang Ling's exclamation just now and felt a little nervous.

Jiang Ling was stunned, and looking at his nervous and distressed eyes, her heart couldn't help but soften.

She hesitated for a moment and said softly, "A little."

Zhou Jing'an lowered his eyes, feeling heartbroken.

Jiang Ling was just about to say something to comfort him, but Zhou Jing'an startled her by saying something.

"Is there any way to stop him/her from moving?"

Jiang Ling was stunned. "Huh?"

Seeing Zhou Jing'an's serious expression, he couldn't help but laugh out loud, and jokingly said, "Why, even a tiger won't eat its own cubs. Master Zhou, are you going to strangle her/him in the cradle?"

It hasn't reached the cradle yet and is still in the belly.

I don’t know how the child will react when he/she finds out that his/her father said such words.

Zhou Jingan was a little embarrassed and shook his head, "That's not what I meant. I'm just worried that you'll feel hurt and uncomfortable..."

Jiang Ling looked at him gently, curling the corners of her mouth, "Yeah, I know."

The moonlight was quiet and silent, illuminating the seriousness and heartache in Zhou Jingan's eyes.

Jiang Ling saw it clearly, and a soft ripple appeared in her heart.

She sat up and put her arms around his neck, whispering softly: "Why are you so nice..."

Okay...she was about to throw herself into it without hesitation.

Zhou Jingan hugged her and chuckled, "What are you talking about? Being nice to you is only natural."

"Yeah." Jiang Ling smiled and nodded, "You're the best."

She kissed him on the lips and received a gentle, long kiss back from Zhou Jing'an.
