Chapter 77: Innocent Boy

Jiang Ling was stunned for a moment, frowning with some disgust.

She warned him, so how could he still get hurt?

After all, she is not as good as her father and brother.

She was worried about whether his injuries could withstand the attack of the bandits, but she saw Zhou Jing'an quickly took care of the remaining bandits with a few moves using his sword.

But the person who attacked him secretly escaped quickly.

Zhou Jing'an ignored his bleeding arm, drew his bow and arrow and aimed at him, but missed, and the man escaped without a trace.

His eyes flickered as he watched the man disappear into the forest.

Jiang Ling came over with a torch in hand, frowned, and asked him, "How is it? Are you seriously injured?"

She was just about to hold the torch close to his arm to check it out when she saw Zhou Jing'an squat down and motion for her to come closer.

Zhou Jing'an carefully examined the appearance of the ten bandits in the light of the torch.

Jiang Ling also looked over, but didn't see anything.

They were dressed the same as the group of people who broke into the camp.

Seeing Zhou Jing'an frowning and thinking, she didn't say anything, for fear of disturbing his thoughts. She just held the torch quietly and followed him.

These people look very ordinary and have no special features. They cannot be recognized in a crowd.

Zhou Jing'an frowned, and suddenly noticed that something seemed wrong with the face of a bandit.

On the side of the face close to the ear, the skin seems to be turned up, revealing a slightly darker skin color underneath.

Zhou Jing'an was stunned, and in an instant he understood the twists and turns, and his eyes turned cold.

Jiang Ling saw him standing aside in a daze after checking the ten bandits, and couldn't help but look at his arm which was still bleeding.

Call him out loud: "Master Zhou."

There was no response, so she called out a few more times, but that still didn't bring him back to his senses.

He couldn't help but move closer and raised his voice: "Zhou Jing'an!"

Zhou Jing'an came back to his senses and turned around to see Jiang Ling looking at him seriously.

"What's wrong?" He looked at Jiang Ling, and the coldness in his eyes disappeared.

Jiang Ling was helpless. "Can we find a place to hide first, treat your injuries, and then you can think about things?"

Only then did Zhou Jing'an notice that the blood from the wound on his arm had soaked half of his sleeve.

He frowned, took the torch from Jiang Ling, and nodded: "Okay, follow me."

Jiang Ling followed him, stopping and walking, and arrived at a natural cave.

Her eyes widened in surprise.

If she were to look for it on her own, she would definitely not be able to find this place.

From the outside, it looks like a cliff with many tall trees and vines, but when you get closer, you will find that under the thick vines, there is a cave entrance half a person's height hidden.

Moreover, the entrance to the cave is behind a protruding rock, and you have to push aside the vines and turn around to see it.

Jiang Ling followed him in and found it was pitch black and extremely quiet inside.

As the cold wind blew towards her, she suddenly grabbed Zhou Jing'an and whispered to him, "Will there be any wild animals?"

If there is a tiger or wild boar lurking inside, it will be the end.

Zhou Jing'an glanced at her hand that was clutching his sleeve, coughed lightly, listened carefully for a few breaths, turned back and said to her, "There's no movement inside, don't worry."

After entering, the torches illuminated the world, and Jiang Ling discovered that the space inside was very large.

The soil was dry, rocks were scattered all over the ground, and there were no signs of human or animal activity.

Zhou Jingan handed her the torch and said, "I'll go find some dry branches to start a fire."

Jiang Ling looked at his arm worriedly, "Bandage it first."

"No need." He said and went out.

Jiang Ling also roughly figured out the entire cave and found a small opening on the top of the cliff deep inside. She looked around and found that it actually led directly to the top of the mountain. She could barely see a ray of moonlight, but the opening was not big and tortuous, so the moonlight could not shine down, but the wind could get in. The cold wind she felt at the cave entrance just now should have blown in from here.

She also picked up some dry branches and grass in the cave. When Zhou Jing'an started the fire, the cave became bright, driving away the darkness and cold wind.

Jiang Ling took out the medicine bag from her waist, sat next to him, and said directly: "Take off your clothes."

Zhou Jing'an was startled by this and turned away awkwardly. "No need, I can do it myself."

He changed the subject and asked her where the medicine came from. Jiang Ling gave her prepared explanation, saying that she only kept it when practicing horse riding.

She insisted, "You can't see the wound, so I'll apply the medicine faster."

Seeing her serious face, Zhou Jing'an stared at her for a long time and then gave in.

He had taken off half of his outer robe, leaving only the white lining on his upper body, and his entire left arm was soaked in blood.

"Take it off, otherwise how can I apply the medicine?"

She's so shy, yet so innocent.

Jiang Ling looked at his cheeks which were gradually turning red, and sat aside waiting for his action leisurely.

Feeling the gazes glued to him, Zhou Jing'an's body stiffened. He turned his face slightly away and began to roll up his sleeves with his right hand.

The wound had been left untreated for so long that the blood around it had coagulated slightly, some forming scabs that stuck to the flesh and clothes, pulling up the flesh when it was lifted up. However, Zhou Jing'an didn't even frown.

"That's all." He rolled up his sleeves to his shoulders, revealing the wound on his upper arm.

Seeing that he turned his head away from her, but his ears were red, Jiang Ling tried hard to suppress her smile, "There's too much blood, it needs to be cleaned."

But where can I find water now?

Zhou Jing'an was about to say no when he saw Jiang neatly tear off a small piece of the lining of her skirt, take out the sheepskin water bag, pour a little water on it, and wipe the blood off for him bit by bit.
