The three of them followed the crowd forward. Zhou Xian discovered something new. He pointed at one place with shining eyes and shouted, "Rabbit!"
It was a ring-tossing stall with a few rabbits and even chicks and ducklings.
Jiang Ling asked him: "Do you want it?"
Zhou Xian nodded expectantly.
Jiang Ling looked at Zhou Jing'an and raised an eyebrow, "Go, my father."
Zhou Jingan chuckled, "Yes, wife."
The three of them squeezed in. Jiang Ling paid the money. Zhou Jing'an picked up the plastic ring, weighed it, and asked Zhou Xian which rabbit he wanted.
"The white one!"
"Okay." As he finished speaking, the plastic ring was accurately put on the white rabbit cage.
Jiang Ling was startled. She shook his arm and smiled in surprise: "Wow! So accurate!"
Zhou Jingan was very pleased to see her smile, while Zhou Xian also jumped and shouted, "Dad is awesome!"
The boss brought the rabbit cage over and handed it to Zhou Xian. The little guy held it in his arms and looked very excited.
Zhou Jing'an lowered his head and asked Jiang Ling, "What do you want?"
Jiang Ling searched around and pointed to a pair of colorful porcelain vases. "Those can be used as vases in our bedroom."
Zhou Jingan smiled, "Okay."
With a raise of the hand, the vase is in hand.
The boss handed it over with a smile and praised: "You have a good aim, young man!"
As Zhou Jing'an took out the ornaments one after another, the boss couldn't hold back his smile any longer.
Jiang Ling thanked the boss with a smile, and also asked for a big bag to pack the things carefully. The three of them returned home with a full load.
When they returned to the B&B, the owner and his family were watching TV in the living room on the first floor. When they saw them coming back with a lot of things, they smiled in surprise and said a few words. They had a son who was four or five years old, who was staring at the snow-white rabbit in Zhou Xian's arms. He looked quite cute with his ignorant look.
Zhou Xian put the little rabbit on the coffee table, sat on the ground and looked at it, carefully touching its ears.
Zhou Jing'an put away the two large bags. Jiang Ling sipped the sour plum soup and asked him with a smile how he could be so good.
"You teach me too. I want to take whatever I like."
Zhou Jingan smiled and hugged her from behind, whispering softly in her ear, "Okay, I'll train you when we get home, but don't be lazy."
As he said this, he leaned on her shoulder, took the sour plum soup in her hand, bit the straw and drank it.
Jiang Ling turned her head to watch him "stealing" his drink, pouted and snorted twice, then smiled and said deliberately sourly: "Oh, Master Zhou has been in the spotlight today, those little girls and boys around are staring at you."
"If Xian and I weren't by your side, you'd be inundated with friend-adding QR codes, just like the day you passed the college entrance exam."
Zhou Jing'an's smile grew even brighter. He rested his chin on her shoulder, tilted his head slightly to look at her, and murmured softly, "This sour plum soup is indeed sour..."
His eyes were as warm and radiant as beautiful jade, and it was obvious that he felt great joy when he saw her jealous look.
"Ling'er is jealous." He said with an uncontrollable smile.
Jiang Ling bit her lip in embarrassment and tried to break free from his embrace, but he held her even tighter.
"I'm not jealous," she gritted her teeth.
Those were just innocent passersby, why would she be jealous over this? She had been teasing them on purpose, but Zhou Jingan's teasing look made her feel a little embarrassed.
Zhou Jing'an naturally knew that Jiang Ling didn't act like this when she was really jealous.
He thought of that time when they were doing it hard, and couldn't help but hug him tighter.
"The time Ling'er was jealous before, she was really jealous."
When Zhou Xian was seven years old, he was ordered to go to Bozhou to understand the people's sentiments. Unexpectedly, a flood broke out at that time and trapped him there. He helped with disaster relief while waiting for the emperor's order. It took him a month to return to Beijing.
Jiang Ling took Zhou Xian to the city gate to pick him up happily, but saw him riding a horse with a carriage following behind him.
Her joyful expression froze as Zhou Jing'an dismounted and ran over to hug her. She asked who was in the carriage and saw a woman walking out.
The woman in plain clothes and with wooden hairpins had a pretty face and she called him Brother Zhou softly.
That sentence stunned Jiang Ling and Zhou Jing'an.
Although Zhou Jing'an later tried to explain that this was the witness he brought back from Bozhou to denounce local corrupt officials, he had never expected her to call him Brother Zhou, and he would never allow her to do so. She had clearly called him Lord Zhou before, so who knew how she changed? Jiang Ling could tell at a glance that the woman had more than just a simple motive for Zhou Jing'an.
But Jiang Ling smiled and said he understood, but occasionally called him in a pretentious voice: "Brother Zhou~"
The look in his eyes was very meaningful and sharp.
This situation lasted for half a month. Every time she called him like this, Zhou Jing'an felt like a thorn in his side and quickly turned around to comfort her.
After hearing what he said, Jiang Ling naturally thought of it. He was just emotional at the time and couldn't help but want to stab him.
She couldn't help laughing and glared at him again: "Who told you to mess around with other girls outside?"
Zhou Jing'an cried out in injustice, "I didn't do anything, Ling'er, there's no need to eat this old vinegar anymore, right?"
Jiang Ling snorted at him and turned to go look at the rabbits with her son.
The three of them played in the small town for a few days before returning to Beijing. After another busy period, it was finally New Year's Eve.
Chen Qing returned to his hometown to celebrate the New Year with his parents. The director naturally stayed with the children in the orphanage, and Jiang Ling and the other two spent the New Year comfortably at home.
She talked about interesting things about the New Year with them, bought some nice fireworks and planned to set them off at a place where they were allowed to be set off. She also had New Year's Eve dinner with them and watched the Spring Festival Gala.
Zhou Xian couldn't bear it any longer and fell asleep in their arms. When the clock struck twelve, Zhou Jing'an couldn't help but hold her in his arms, looking at her with tenderness and a bright smile.
