Chapter 128 The Passerby Who Didn't Get the Owl in Harry Potter (5)

"Wow, that's amazing!"

“This is incredible. You’re Harry Potter? I’m Hermione Granger. You’re very famous, you know? You’re mentioned in both The History of Modern Magic and The Rise and Fall of the Dark Arts and the Great Wizarding Events of the Twentieth Century.”

"Boy who survived, I mean, did you really kill the mysterious man? Do you remember how you killed him?"

Seeing that Hermione was asking more and more questions, Jiang Yue quickly pulled her aside and introduced herself: "My name is Jiang Yue, my surname is Jiang and my given name is Yue."

After Jiang Yue finished speaking, the other two tried to pronounce her name with some difficulty. Ron asked curiously, "Jiang, are you from the East?"

Jiang Yue nodded and said yes. Ron nodded and said, "I heard from my brother that there seems to be an Asian girl in Ravenclaw named Cho Chang. You can contact her after you enroll." After saying that, Ron hesitated for a moment and said to Jiang Yue, "You must not go to Slytherin House. That house is very unfriendly to Muggle families and non-pure-blood families."

Just as the group was chatting, the staff selling goods on the train came over. You see these kinds of people everywhere. Jiang Yue finally felt a sense of familiarity: "Would you like to buy something, kids?"

"Thanks! I brought some." Ron said, taking out a sandwich. Just like in the original story, Harry bought a little of everything. Jiang Yue also took a Bean of Flavor, which turned out to be cilantro flavored. Hmm~, although Jiang Yue doesn't dislike it and sometimes puts it in her noodles, she still can't quite accept the pure cilantro flavor.

They finally arrived at Hogwarts in the evening. After getting off the bus, hundreds of students poured out, and Jiang Yue and her friends followed the crowd off the bus.

"First-year students! First-year students, this way! Hurry! First-year students, don't be shy, hurry up and follow! Hurry!" A tall man carrying a lantern shouted in a loud voice from a distance. After walking for a while, the four of them met up with the tall man Hagrid. Hagrid greeted Harry and then led the first-year students to the castle by boat.

Led by Hagrid, the group arrived outside the castle. Professor McGonagall was already standing at the entrance to the castle hall, ready to welcome them. After everyone had arrived, Professor McGonagall said, "Welcome to Hogwarts. In a little while, you will pass through these doors, but before you pass through these doors, you must go through the Sorting Ceremony. There are Gryffindor, Hufflepuff, Ravenclaw, and Slytherin. During your time at Hogwarts, your house is like your home. Good performance will earn you points for your house. At the end of the year, the house with the highest score will win the House Cup."

Jiang Yue pouted. If she remembered correctly, Dumbledore was Gryffindor for three consecutive years before he died. If he hadn't died, he might have been Gryffindor for six years. No matter how much he earned, it couldn't compare to someone else's GM cheating.

"The Sorting Ceremony will begin in a little while." Professor McGonagall said this and left first. The students started talking. At this time, Malfoy started to talk back to Harry Potter, and they went through those classic dialogues. Unfortunately, they were interrupted by Professor McGonagall who returned. After entering the hall, there were students all around. Jiang Yue looked at the sky and found it quite interesting. It was a dream come true for her when she was a child.

Dumbledore listed several things that were forbidden, and the Sorting Ceremony began. The names on the list were in an unclear order, but Professor McGonagall called out, "Hermione Granger!" Hermione took a deep breath, went up to the stage, and put on the Sorting Hat. After a few words of deliberation, the Sorting Hat announced, "Gryffindor!"

The students below the stage then cheered. Hermione stood up and walked to Gryffindor, followed by Malfoy. Before he could even put his Sorting Hat on properly, he shouted, "Slytherin!" The Slytherin students also applauded in welcome.

Then a few people Jiang Yue didn't recognize went up, and after a while it was the turn of the famous Harry Potter. Jiang Yue saw the professors on the stage sit up straight, and the Sorting Hat hesitated for a moment. Jiang Yue knew that Harry was saying he didn't want to go to Slytherin, so the Sorting Hat called out: "Gryffindor!"

After the Sorting Hat called out Gryffindor's name, the cheers from the audience were the loudest, with some shouting, "We have Harry Potter! We have Potter!"

Jiang Yue had been waiting, wondering if she would be the last one since there were only a few people left. And just as she expected, after the second-to-last person went down, Professor McGonagall put away the parchment and called out, "Jiang Yue!" The moment Jiang Yue's name was uttered, the noise below paused for a moment before murmurs arose. This was the second student from the East to attend Hogwarts.

Jiang Yue is a grown woman, and this little thing won't make her nervous at all. After going on stage and putting on the Sorting Hat, the Sorting Hat began to whisper in her ear: "Oh my god! This is really hard to choose. I see so many possibilities."

After much deliberation, the Sorting Hat finally made up its mind, while Hermione in the audience kept chanting, "Gryffindor! It has to be Gryffindor!" Unfortunately, the Sorting Hat wouldn't grant her wish: "Ravenclaw!"

When the Sorting House called out Ravenclaw, the Ravenclaw students didn't hold back their cheers and applause. Jiang Yue put the Sorting Hat back in its place, bowed to Professor McGonagall to thank her, and then went to the Ravenclaw table, where people made room for her.

After the Sorting Ceremony was completed, Dumbledore announced the start of the banquet. Jiang Yue didn't know how others felt about the food, but she thought it was alright. As long as she could accept the local cuisine, she could manage; at least she wasn't stargazing. Everyone ate and chatted. Then, someone else appeared next to Jiang Yue. Jiang Yue turned her head and saw it was Zhang Qiu. Zhang Qiu extended her hand to Jiang Yue: "Hello Jiang Yue, I'm Zhang Qiu. Are you Chinese?"

Jiang Yue shook Zhang Qiu's hand and said, "Hello, my name is Jiang Yue!" Jiang Yue spoke the last sentence in Chinese. Zhang Qiu was also happy to hear Jiang Yue's words: "My parents are both Chinese, but unfortunately they haven't been back to China for a long time. They have now immigrated to England."

"I went back once when I was a child. When did you come to England?"

"I've never gone back. My parents died when I was very young, and I grew up in an orphanage. I taught myself Chinese." Jiang Yue in this world has indeed never gone back.

Jiang Yue lost her parents when she was three years old. Her relatives were all in China, but she had lost contact with them long ago. In the end, Jiang Yue was sent to an orphanage. When she was eleven, she was adopted by her current parents. The original owner of the body did not even know Chinese. She had learned it when she was a child, but there was no one or environment where she spoke Chinese with her. How much could a child remember?
