Jiang Yue had no choice. Moving the supplies halfway up the mountain was impractical, so she had to put them on the stairs at the top. She quickly found some ropes, ran to the higher part of the stairs, made a circle around the ropes, and then covered it with a canopy. She hoped it would last until she finished moving the supplies and that it wouldn't rain, otherwise it would all be for nothing.
Jiang Yue didn't care about anything else. She found the stick that Brother Zhang had used to carry water, picked up two large bags of supplies, and then carried her backpack up the mountainside. The things she bought were too many and too heavy, so it took a lot of time to deliver them. Fortunately, the weather cooperated and it didn't rain.
After transferring all the supplies to the safe house, Jiang Yue put her backpack inside the small house and went down the steps to look at the refrigerator and a bunch of bottled water. Luckily, the refrigerator was tied with a rope.
Seeing that the platform was already submerged by seawater, Jiang Yue could only move the refrigerator up a little further up. There was a small platform there. After moving it to the small platform, Jiang Yue looked around and saw that there were two ropes attached to the packaging, so she didn't need to find ropes to tie it up.
Jiang Yue tried carrying the refrigerator on her back. Although it wasn't big, it was still quite heavy. She used herself as leverage to lift it up. The wind was too strong, which made it much more difficult. She had to readjust her direction when turning.
When they reached the halfway point of the mountain, it was already getting dark. After putting the refrigerator in the safe house, Jiang Yue hurried down the mountain. The bottled water was still piled up there, so she could only rest as she walked.
It was already dark when Jiang Yue came down to the platform. She put the water into the small hut. The hut wasn't big, and there was still a lot of water inside. The space was full, but there were still two buckets of water left, totaling 20L, which couldn't fit in. Jiang Yue had no choice but to carry the water up to the mountainside.
Carrying the things in the dark, it took Jiang Yue a full hour and a half to reach the halfway point of the mountain. After putting away the water and closing the door, Jiang Yue rubbed her shoulders, which were now extremely sore. This was even after she had worn a piece of clothing underneath, and she hoped it wouldn't chafe her skin.
Fortunately, Jiang Yue had taken a pill beforehand, and thankfully, her daily mountain climbing and exercise had helped deplete its effects; otherwise, she definitely wouldn't have been able to carry all that stuff up the mountain today.
After entering the cabin, Jiang Yue first set up the tent. In case of rain, Jiang Yue used a canopy to cover the windows. After finishing, Jiang Yue brought over the filming equipment: "Brothers, yesterday we were saying everything went smoothly and nothing happened. Today we just arrived on the island and we've already been given a hard time. It seems we can't just say things carelessly."
While chatting, Jiang Yue accidentally moved her arm and said, "Ouch, my shoulder hurts. I feel like it's going to break."
"I moved too much stuff today, and my shoulder will probably hurt for a few days. Luckily, I prepared a small first-aid kit beforehand. Let's see if we can find anything that can treat this. I plan to find some painkillers so I can take a couple if the pain gets really bad tonight."
Actually, the situation isn't as serious as Jiang Yue described. After all, she's someone who has taken the elixir, so her recovery ability is stronger than that of a normal person. She'll probably be fine after she wakes up tomorrow.
"Alright, the medicine has been found, let's put it aside for now. Oh, and turn on the refrigerator first, otherwise the meat will spoil in this weather."
Jiang Yue took a flashlight to the safe house, unpacked the refrigerator, and assembled the solar panels. Since it was too windy and dark, it was unlikely to generate electricity from solar power. However, the company had provided two batteries, which Jiang's father had fully charged, so they should last for two days.
I can't put the meat in the refrigerator yet because it hasn't started cooling. I'll just put it in when I go to bed. I also grabbed some food on my way out. The little house is full of instant noodles. My shoulder hurts today, so I won't cook. I'll just find some cooked food to tide me over.
After locking the door, Jiang Yue carried a bag of food back to the small house. After putting the food inside, she blocked the door, then jumped in through the window. She took out the light and tidied up her things. After finishing, Jiang Yue took out a folding chair and a folding table: "Brothers, it's too late today. My shoulder hurts, so I won't cook. I'll just eat something and go to sleep. Moving a bunch of things is too tiring."
After finishing her meal, Jiang Yue went to the safe house to put the meat away, yawned, said goodnight, and went to sleep. When she woke up the next day, she moved her shoulder and found that it was only slightly sore. She estimated that it would recover in a few hours. Looking at the tent being blown by the wind, she knew that the wind and rain today would be quite strong.
Hearing the loud commotion outside, Jiang Yue unzipped the tent and glanced outside. The windows, which were on the leeward side, were rattling loudly in the wind. Seeing that the wind and rain were getting even stronger, she said, "Brothers, in this weather, we can forget about going out or doing anything. Let's think about what to eat."
"Luckily we brought a lot of things up yesterday. We'll just have some bread and milk for today. My shoulder will take two more days to recover, so we'll just do whatever is convenient for the next couple of days."
"I hope this rain doesn't last too long. The two batteries in the refrigerator are small. One battery can only support the refrigerator for two days, so two batteries will last for four days. I haven't installed the matching solar panels yet. If the power goes out, we're doomed. The food will spoil inside the refrigerator. At that time, not only will the meat be ruined, but the refrigerator itself will be unusable."
"Moreover, the installation of these solar panels is still a problem. We need to figure out where to fix the brackets. There's no place to fix them here at the safe house. It's windy here, and if they're not properly secured, they might be blown away by the wind. My dad thought of fixing them to the railing, but when I looked at it, it was too far away, and the wires were a bit too short."
"I can't see the comments, and I can't see the suggestions people give. Sigh, I have to rely on my own clever little brain."
Jiang Yue searched around the small house and then saw a pile of wooden planks in the corner, along with several boxes of nails. Jiang Yue stroked his chin and said, "Brothers, I know how to install it. Do you understand? I'll give you three minutes to think about it. I'll find out what I need first."
Jiang Yue didn't tell the people in the live stream what she was going to do. She took out the wooden blocks and nails and started assembling. In a short while, she made a pallet for logistics. However, hers was fixed with wooden blocks at the top and bottom. It just wasn't sealed yet. Jiang Yue made two of them. At noon, the rain stopped and the wind subsided a bit. Jiang Yue took the two pallets out.
I found an unobstructed spot next to the safe house and built a ramp. Then I put the tray on it and started filling the inside of the tray with stones. After filling it with stones, I nailed a board on top of it so that the wind couldn't blow the tray away and the solar panel could be fixed in place.
After taking the solar panels out, she fixed them onto the tray. Each solar panel required eight screws, and it took Jiang Yue quite a while to tighten them. Since she didn't have a power drill, she had to use a screwdriver to tighten them. After installation, Jiang Yue tested the strength and found that there shouldn't be any problems.
