"Li'er, you've escaped death and your body hasn't had a proper rest yet, so don't think about anything else."
The Empress Dowager also came over, and said with some self-reproach:

Gu Jiangli quickly said:

The Empress Dowager felt somewhat relieved of her self-blame after hearing her words of comfort.

The emperor's eyes were full of deep affection.

The Empress Dowager was pleased but did not want to interrupt their conversation any further.

With her eyes closed, she heard the Empress Dowager say that the child had been crying and she didn't know if he was feeling better now.

"Very well, I will have someone bring the young prince over right away."
After saying that, she turned and left the room with light steps.
Only Gu Jiangli and the emperor remained in the room.
The emperor seemed afraid she would leave again, and his gaze never left her for a moment.
"Your Majesty, you have suffered."
Gu Jiangli touched his haggard face, feeling heartbroken.
The emperor, however, did not care about his haggard appearance, saying, "Now that Li'er is back, I am no longer suffering."
