She watched the city lord's wife leave, then got up and went to the lake to feed the fish.
She sat down by the lake, and several brightly colored goldfish swam toward her.
They were already familiar with the sound of Gu Jiangli's footsteps, and whenever she passed by, they would definitely have a big meal.
Watching these free-swimming little fish, Gu Jiangli felt very relaxed.
But out of the corner of her eye, she noticed a small head peeking out from behind the artificial rocks on the other side of the lake. It looked like a child was lying on the lake looking at the water.
Gu Jiangli's expression tightened, and he immediately summoned Hehua.
Lotus immediately understood and ran to the spot Gu Jiangli pointed to, grabbing a child.
When Gu Jiangli approached, he was indeed somewhat surprised: "Jiang Wuyou? What are you doing here? Shouldn't you be at Luming Academy?"
Wuyou struggled as Lotus grabbed the back of her neck, shouting, "What business is it of yours where I am? I have my own feet, I can go wherever I want!"
With a wave of his hand, Gu Jiangli released the lotus flower from its restraints on him.
Wuyou stood up from the ground, arrogantly brushed the dirt off her clothes, and sneered, "Oh, you must be the First Madam! I know you. You live in such a beautiful place all day long, you really know how to enjoy life. If I hadn't climbed over the wall, I wouldn't have known this courtyard was so beautiful!"
Gu Jiangli felt increasingly annoyed. She really didn't like Wuyou, no matter how old he was.
"You climbed over the wall from outside the city lord's mansion?"
This small building was located at the far east end of the city lord's mansion, right next to the courtyard wall.
Wuyou shrugged, adopting a fearless demeanor: "Yeah, so what? Is it not allowed?"
Gu Jiangli crossed his arms and asked, "You were kicked out of Luming Academy?"
"Who said that?" Wuyou immediately jumped up and down. "I came back on my own!"
"You came back on your own? That's impossible. Luming Academy doesn't allow students to go home to see their families without permission; they only have one chance to go home at the end of each month. You either skipped school and ran away, or you were kicked out of the academy. Should I go ask around?"
"You dare!" Wuyou bared her teeth and brandished her claws, her previous arrogant attitude gone. "Let me tell you! No matter how I got back, as long as I tell Grandmother that I missed her and came back to see her, she won't blame me!"
"Not necessarily. The city lord's wife went to great lengths to get you into Luming Academy. If you can no longer study there from now on, no matter how much she dotes on you, she'll probably still give you a few lashes."
In fact, Gu Jiangli had already heard about Wuyou's situation at Luming Academy.
His behavior at the academy was exactly the same as when he was in the city lord's mansion; he had a natural inclination to bully people.
He beat up classmates, insulted teachers, and played pranks on other people's servants.

"Tch, do you think I'd believe that? What did I do? Why did Grandmother hit me? Besides, what's so great about a lousy Luming Academy? If I don't want to go, I don't want to go. I don't even look down on the other academies!"
Gu Jiangli stared at him, a hint of disdain in her eyes.
Wuyou looked at her with even more arrogance and continued, "By the way, Madam, why don't you prepare a room for me to stay in?"
Hearing his willful tone, Gu Jiangli wasn't in a hurry to get angry, but instead asked, "Why?"
"What reason do you need? I just threw something into this lake. If you don't agree, the little fish in this lake won't survive. If you agree, I might consider giving you the antidote."
Upon hearing this, the expressions of Gu Jiangli's maids, including Hehua, all changed simultaneously.
The few brightly colored little fish in the lake looked ordinary, but they were actually brought over from another city by the eldest young master at great expense, and were quite valuable.
He would be furious if even one or two of them were damaged.
Lotus looked flustered and whispered in Gu Jiangli's ear, "Miss, when I came over just now, he definitely had both hands in the lake. I don't know if he really put something in there..."
