Chapter 11 Quick Guide to the God of Elements (Twenty-Six)
A powerful force burst out from Morpheus' body, instantly knocking the surrounding men in black away.
I was so shocked by this power that I was speechless and stunned. "Oh? What do you want?" Morpheus raised his eyebrows with a hint of amusement in his tone.
"Of course you are the human body of the God of Elements! Hahahaha," the man in black said grimly with blood flowing from his mouth.
Morpheus smiled, but his eyes were icy cold. "You guys are worthy?!"
I clenched my fists and watched everything happening before my eyes.
"Walk!"
"My Lord Satan, I'll be waiting for you in hell"
Morpheus took my hand and disappeared in a flash. When I came to my senses, we were already outside the castle.
"What happened?" I haven't recovered from the shock just now.
"Those men in black are coming for Morpheus."
Morpheus's face was a little solemn. "It's Satan, the chief of the devils. Let's go quickly."
"So what do we do now?" I asked.
"run"
Morpheus said, pulling out a map from his pocket, "Even Satan doesn't dare to enter this place. We have to change places."
So, we took a team of guards, rode a strange creature called "Windbeast", and rushed towards the border. The Windbeast was very fast, and it took us less than half a day to reach the place marked on the map.
However, the scene in front of us shocked us. The village, which was supposed to be prosperous, has now become lifeless, with collapsed houses and barren fields. What's more terrifying is that the air around us is filled with a strange dark breath, which makes people shudder.
"What happened here?" I felt uneasy and tightened my grip on the sword.
Morpheus did not speak, but looked around solemnly. Suddenly, he seemed to have discovered something, and his eyes fell on a dry well in the center of the village.
"Let's go and take a look." He said, and walked towards the dry well.
I followed him closely, my heart full of doubts and uneasiness. When we reached the dry well, a thicker dark breath hit me, and I couldn't help but shudder.
"Be careful."
Morpheus whispered, then slowly looked down into the well.
I also looked towards the bottom of the well, but at this moment, Morpheus's face suddenly changed and he pulled me back.
"What's wrong?"
Before I could react, he pulled me and I staggered and almost fell to the ground.
"Don't look at it!" Morpheus' voice was filled with fear, "The bottom of the well..."
Before he could finish his words, he heard a creepy sound coming from the bottom of the well...
"There's something at the bottom of the well!"
I cried out in shock. Although I couldn't see the scene at the bottom of the well clearly, the nauseating stench and the creepy sound were enough to let me know that the thing at the bottom of the well was definitely not a good thing.
Morpheus took a deep breath, suppressed the fear in his heart, drew a dagger from his waist, lit it with the power of elements, forming a simple torch, illuminating a corner of the bottom of the well.
"ah……"
I took a deep breath and saw that the bottom of the well was densely packed with twisted black shadows. The shadows seemed to be wriggling, making a teeth-grinding friction sound.
"It's Satan's temptation..."
Morpheus's expression became more serious. "These villagers have been corroded by Satan's desires."
We jumped into the dry well and the sight before us was even more shocking. The once peaceful and tranquil village had now turned into a hell on earth.
The villagers, who were eroded by Satan's desires, had hollow eyes and gray skin, wandering around the village like zombies. They had lost their minds and would attack anyone they saw.
Morpheus swung the whip in his hand and repelled the monsters that approached him one by one, while I drew my sword and fought the monsters in close combat.
Although these monsters had lost their minds, their strength was several times greater than that of ordinary people. I had to use all my strength to barely defeat them.
We fought our way to the center of the village and found an altar made of black stones. In the center of the altar stood a huge totem column, which was carved with various strange patterns and exuded a frightening dark aura.
"This is Satan's totem..." Morpheus' tone was full of solemnity, "It seems that this place has been completely eroded by the forces of darkness."
I looked at the scene in front of me, and a chill rose in my heart. Who were these Satans? Why did they invade this village?
"We must destroy this totem!" Morpheus said, and was about to step forward.
"Wait!" I grabbed him and said, "Look..."
I pointed to the area around the totem column, where some strange black powder was scattered, emitting a faint glow under the moonlight. "Be careful, there must be other traps nearby." I pulled Morpheus, who was eager to try, and looked around carefully.
"You think you can trap me with these little tricks?" Morpheus smiled contemptuously, but still followed my advice and slowed down his pace.
I squatted down and carefully observed the black powder. It looked like the powder of some plant, but it exuded a strange fragrance that made people want to vomit.
"There's something strange about this thing..."
Before I finished speaking, the powder suddenly burned, making crackling sounds. Then, the air around us began to distort and the ground began to shake violently.
"Oh no, it's a space trap!" My face changed and I pulled Morpheus back quickly.
Suddenly, a huge black vortex appeared in the empty space, sucking everything around it in. Morpheus and I tried our best to stabilize our bodies, but we were still pulled by this powerful force and walked step by step towards the terrifying black vortex.
“Damn it!”
Morpheus cursed and swung the whip in his hand, trying to grab something to steady himself, but it was all in vain.
"Don't panic, I'll find a way!"
I shouted and quickly scanned the surroundings, trying to find a way to crack it. Suddenly, my eyes fell on the base of the totem column, where there was a small groove that seemed to be able to place something.
"It's here!"
My heart moved, and without thinking too much, I took out a black stone that I had found in the village before from my arms and pressed it hard into the groove.
A miracle happened! The black stone fit perfectly into the groove, emitting a dazzling golden light. The violent force of space calmed down instantly, and the black vortex disappeared.
"You actually found the eye of the array!" Murphys looked at me in surprise, with a strange light flashing in his handsome eyes.
"Just good luck."
I smiled, not daring to tell him that I had only found the solution based on my intuition and guesswork.
The crisis was resolved, and Morpheus no longer hesitated. The long whip in his hand turned into a fire dragon and lashed the totem pillar fiercely. With a deafening roar, the totem pillar collapsed and turned into magma. The villagers who were invaded by the darkness also fell to the ground, and the dark atmosphere over the village gradually dissipated.
"It's finally over..."
I breathed a sigh of relief, but my heart didn't feel relieved at all. Instead, it felt heavier.
"No, this is just the beginning..." Morpheus looked into the distance with cold eyes and an unprecedented solemnity in his tone...
The remaining dark breath floated in the night sky like a ghost, and my heart was as heavy as the night. Morpheus stood beside me, and his usually lively eyes were now covered with a layer of shadow.
“This is just the beginning,”
Morpheus's voice was low, as if he was talking to me, or to himself, "It is no coincidence that they chose this time and this place to act."
I understand what he means. This village, encroached by darkness, is located on the edge of the elemental realm. It is remote and easy to attack but difficult to defend.
The dark forces chose this place as a test, apparently wanting to test the defensive power of the elemental realm and prepare for the subsequent large-scale invasion.
"We must go back and tell the old wizard about this." I said in a deep voice.
Morpheus nodded without saying anything else. He turned around and bumped into my eyes. We looked at each other straight. I saw that his 1.9-meter-tall fair face turned red. "Wow, so handsome, I really want to kiss him."
I turned my head with a burst of secret joy, looked at the village that had become a ruin, and turned to walk towards the castle.
