Chapter 2 Quick Guide to the God of Elements (Seventeen)
I took a deep breath, looked at Morpheus, and said word by word: "Save Alice, I can help you..."
Morpheus' eyes were full of surprise, and it was obvious that my answer was beyond his expectations. He was stunned for a few seconds, then nodded, with a complex light flashing in his eyes.
I know that at this moment, we must work together to save Alice.
"Chase!"
I growled and took the lead in chasing the direction where the man in black disappeared. Murphys followed closely behind. His speed was surprisingly fast. I could even feel the powerful elemental power surging around him.
"As expected of the God of Elements, he's quite powerful."
It seems that he has done everything to save Alice.
We ran all the way, through the dense forest and across the turbulent river. The night behind us grew darker and darker, like a huge net that was about to swallow us up.
Those men in black were obviously very familiar with the terrain. They deliberately led us to a remote place and set up various traps and obstacles.
"careful!"
I grabbed Morpheus and hid behind a huge rock. Several sharp arrows whizzed past our heads and hit the opposite tree trunk.
"Their goal is clear: to delay time."
Morpheus said in a deep voice, "We must find their hiding place as soon as possible."
We continued to move forward, and along the way, I found some strange symbols. These symbols seemed to be some kind of ancient writing that I had never seen before.
"What are these?"
I pointed at the symbols and asked, "This is the elemental language. Only those who are proficient in the power of elements can understand it."
Morpheus explained, "It seems that these men in black are not ordinary thieves. There must be a powerful organization behind them supporting them."
Following the guidance of the elemental language, we finally found the traces of the men in black in front of a hidden cave.
There were two men in black guarding the entrance of the cave. They were dressed in black and holding sharp swords, watching the surroundings vigilantly.
"We must act quickly." I whispered, "You are responsible for attracting their attention, and I will find an opportunity to sneak into the cave."
Morpheus nodded, took a deep breath, and began to gather elemental power in his hands.
A dazzling flame burned in his palm, illuminating his handsome face.
"You despicable people, let Alice go!"
Morpheus shouted angrily and threw the fireball in his hand at the men in black.
The fireball streaked across the night sky, carrying a scorching breath, and slammed heavily into the men in black... Just as I was about to take advantage of the chaos to sneak into the cave, I suddenly heard a muffled groan from behind me.
I turned around suddenly and saw a familiar figure lying in a pool of blood... It was Wesley!
"Weasley!"
I screamed in surprise and rushed towards him recklessly. He was lying in a pool of blood, his face pale, with a black arrow stuck in his chest, and his clothes stained red with blood.
Morpheus also rushed over. When he saw this scene, his face changed drastically and the fire in his hand went out.
"Damn, they have help!"
Morpheus said this through gritted teeth, his eyes full of anger and worry.
I half-knelt beside Wesley and checked his injuries. The arrow pierced his lung and his condition was very critical. I took out the wound medicine I carried with me from my pocket and tried to stop the bleeding, but the blood still kept pouring out.
"It's no use. I don't have much time left..." Weasley said with difficulty, his voice weak.
"Feng Ziang...you must...save Alice..."
His words startled me, and I looked up at Morpheus. He was looking around anxiously, as if he was looking for something.
In his eyes, besides worry, I also saw a barely perceptible hint of... panic?
"Weasley, hold on, we will save you!" I suppressed my uneasiness and applied medicine to him again.
"There's no time... ahem... remember what I said..."
Weasley grabbed my hand and said with his last bit of strength, "This world needs you... It's related to the safety of the entire elemental realm... You must not fall into the hands of... the bad guys..."
After saying this, his hands dropped weakly and his eyes lost their luster.
"Weasley! Weasley!" I shouted, but he could no longer hear me.
I clenched my fists tightly, my heart filled with grief and anger. Weasley, the brave and kind elemental guardian, died just like that.
"Zi'ang, now is not the time to be sad. We must find those men in black as soon as possible and rescue Alice!" Morpheus' voice pulled me back from my grief.
I took a deep breath and tried to calm myself down. Now is not the time to be sad. There are more important tasks waiting for us to complete.
Just when we felt lost and hopeless, an old voice suddenly rang in our ears: "Children, don't give up hope..."
We looked in the direction of the sound and saw that he had white hair and beard, and was holding an ancient wooden staff. A powerful elemental force emanated from his body.
"Old wizard! You are here too."
Morpheus exclaimed, his eyes filled with surprise and awe.
"We are the only ones left in the world now. I can only do my best to help you."
The old wizard nodded, his eyes swept over me and Morpheus and finally fell on Weasley's body, a trace of sadness flashed in his eyes.
"You are the god of prophecy in magic. I believe you can do it."
In the old wizard's crystal ball, the world started anew, and all gods no longer interfered with human life. He said in a low voice, "The power of elements will help you."
As he spoke, he raised the wooden staff in his hand and muttered something. An invisible energy surged out of his body, forming a strange pattern in the air. In the pattern, there were twinkling stars, as if they were stars guiding the direction.
"Follow these stars and you will find what you are looking for." After the old wizard said this, his figure gradually disappeared into the night.
I looked at the star pattern in front of me, and a glimmer of hope ignited in my heart. Morpheus and I looked at each other, nodded, and walked in the direction indicated by the stars.
The night was getting darker and darker as we traveled through the dense forest. Everything around us seemed exceptionally quiet, with only the rustling of leaves under our feet and the roars of animals in the distance.
After walking for an unknown amount of time, we finally arrived at a valley. At the entrance of the valley, two tall stone pillars stood majestically, with ancient runes carved on them, emitting frightening energy fluctuations.
My heart sank and I felt a strong sense of oppression coming over me.
This is where the men in black hide...
I took a deep breath and tightened my grip on the sword. Morpheus also sensed the danger, and he placed his fingers lightly on my wrist, and a warm energy flowed into my body from his fingertips.
I felt as if the elemental power in my body was activated and became more active.
"Be careful."
Morpheus' voice was soft, but it contained an unquestionable firmness.
I nodded, and walked cautiously with him toward the valley entrance. Before we got close, two dark shadows flashed from behind the stone pillars, blocking our way.
"Who is it?!"
One of them shouted in a sharp voice, his tone full of vigilance.
Before I could say anything, Morpheus stepped forward and sneered, "The one who will take your lives."
Before he finished speaking, a dagger emitting faint blue light appeared in his hand, and he pounced towards one of them like a ghost.
The man obviously did not expect Morpheus to be so fast. He hastily raised the weapon in his hand to block, but Morpheus dodged it easily. The dagger slashed his throat, leaving a streak of blood.
The other man was horrified when he saw this, and just as he was about to call for help, he was pierced through the heart by the long sword in my hand. I pulled out the sword, and his body fell to the ground powerlessly, without a sound.
