Chapter 3 Quick Guide to the God of Elements (XVIII)
"It seems that we underestimated this girl's strength." A cold voice came from the depths of the valley.
I looked in the direction of the sound and saw a man in a black robe slowly walking out of the shadows. He was wearing a silver mask on his face, revealing only a pair of cold eyes.
"Who are you?" I asked in a deep voice.
The man sneered and did not answer my question. Instead, he turned to look at Morpheus, a glimmer of greed in his eyes: "Elemental Body... It's really a rare treasure. As long as I get you, I can control the entire elemental realm!"
"Haha, it's up to you"
"Of course it's not just me, Your Highness the God of Elements, but your body has been fallen from the gods, and your strength is not as strong as before."
Before he finished speaking, he suddenly waved his hand, and a powerful energy wave burst out from his body, transforming into countless black lightning bolts, attacking us.
At this critical moment, an old figure suddenly appeared in front of us. It was the old wizard. He raised the wooden staff in his hand, muttered something, and a transparent barrier instantly unfolded in front of us, blocking all the black lightning.
"You guys go in quickly! Leave this to me!" the old wizard shouted without turning back.
I knew it was not the time to hesitate, so I took Morpheus's hand and ran towards the depths of the valley. The old wizard used the power of elements to create a hidden path for us. We dodged the pursuit of the men in black all the way and finally reached the deepest part of the valley.
"They are inside." Morpheus pointed to a closed stone door in front and said in a low voice.
I nodded, tightened my sword, took a deep breath, and pushed the stone door open. The stone door slowly opened, and a rotten and damp smell came over me. I couldn't help but frown. The scene in front of us surprised Morpheus and me: This is not a secret base, it is clearly an ancient altar!
In the center of the altar, a figure in a black robe had his back to us. The ground around him was engraved with strange runes, emitting a faint blue light, which echoed the elemental light on Morpheus' body, but seemed even more gloomy.
"You're finally here." The man in black robe slowly turned around, revealing a young face, but his eyes were full of sorrow and resentment. "I've been waiting for this day for a long time."
"Who are you? Why are you targeting us?" I asked sharply, holding the sword tightly in my hand.
"I'm not interested in you. I'm interested in the gods who fell into the human world after the war between the gods." The man in black robe sneered, "Right! Morpheus, the former god!"
He waved his hand suddenly, and the runes around him suddenly shone brightly. A powerful suction force pulled Murpheus towards the center of the altar.
"You're dreaming if you want to control me!"
Morpheus roared angrily, and the dagger in his hand turned into a blue light and stabbed fiercely at the man in black robe.
The man in black robe was not in a hurry. He formed seals with his hands, and a black light curtain instantly appeared in front of him, blocking Morpheus' attack.
“You don’t know your own limitations!”
The man in black robe snorted coldly and slapped Morpheus with his backhand. I saw this and quickly swung my sword in front of Morpheus, but the powerful force still pushed me back several steps, and the blood in my body surged.
"Zi'ang!" Murphys exclaimed and quickly supported me.
"I'm fine,"
I took a deep breath and suppressed the fishy sweetness in my throat. "This guy is very powerful. We must be careful when dealing with him."
"Hmph, even if you join forces, it's nothing but a mantis trying to stop a chariot!" The man in black robe laughed arrogantly, his hands constantly changing seals, and black lightning shot out from his fingertips, attacking Morpheus and me.
Morpheus and I stood back to back, cooperating with each other. I swung my sword to split the lightning, while Morpheus used his agile body to move around and attack continuously, looking for the flaws in the black-robed man.
We fought with the man in black for a long time. Although we cooperated well, he was too strong and we gradually fell into a disadvantage.
"We can't go on like this. We must find a way to break this deadlock." While fending off the attacks of the man in black robes, I anxiously thought of a countermeasure.
"The devil has come. Give me a miracle."
The man in black robe rushed over with huge energy in his hand. Suddenly, my eyes fell on the runes around the altar, and a bold idea formed in my mind.
"Morpheus, I've got a solution. Cover me!" I yelled at Morpheus, then rushed to the center of the altar regardless of everything.
"Zi'ang, what are you going to do?!" Murphys cried out and tried to stop me, but it was too late.
I ignored the black-robed man's angry roar and attacks, and tried my best to inject all the elemental power in my body into the sword in my hand, and then stabbed the rune in the center of the altar with the sword.
"No——" The man in black robe roared in despair...
"No——" The desperate roar of the black-robed man rang in my ears, and the rune in the center of the altar was pierced by me, bursting with dazzling light. I was blown away by this powerful force and fell heavily on the cold ground. A fishy and sweet taste surged in my throat, and my eyes went black.
"Zi'ang!"
Morpheus's anxious voice rang in my ears, and his white fingers stroked my cheeks, "What's wrong with you? Don't scare me!"
I tried to open my eyes, but my eyelids felt as heavy as a ton of pounds, and all the bones in my body ached as if they were falling apart. I opened my mouth and tried to speak, but all I could come out was a faint moan.
"Don't talk, save your energy."
Morpheus' voice trembled slightly, and I felt warm liquid dripping on my face. It was his tears.
“Ahem…”
"I'm not dead yet, idiot"
I finally opened my eyes with all my strength, and all I could see was Morpheus's anxious expression. I wanted to reach out and touch him, but I found that I didn't even have the strength to raise my hand.
"You bastard!"
Morpheus suddenly gnashed his teeth and cursed. I saw the rage burning in his eyes, "How can you be so stupid! Are you willing to sacrifice your own life to save me?!"
"Silly boy, I won't die. I am the chosen one."
I smiled weakly and tried to say something, but I found that I couldn't make any sound. I could only use my last bit of strength to hold Morpheus' hand, trying to comfort him.
"I won't let you die! I won't!"
Morpheus' tears fell like pearls from a broken string. He held my hand tightly, and his tone was firm and unquestionable.
Suddenly, a strong elemental wave came, and I felt a warm force surrounding me. My body seemed to be immersed in a hot spring, and the pain gradually subsided. I looked up in surprise and saw a familiar figure appear in front of us.
"Old wizard!" Morpheus exclaimed in surprise.
The old wizard looked at us kindly. The wooden staff in his hand emitted a soft light, and the warm power emanated from the staff.
"Take this." The old wizard's voice was full of relief.
"Water from the magical pool of the healing spring in Elemental Town."
He slowly raised the wooden staff, muttering something. The ancient spell echoed in the altar. The surrounding elemental forces seemed to be summoned and rushed madly towards the wooden staff in the old wizard's hand.
"Stop! You can't..." The man in black robe shouted in horror, but before he could finish his words, he was restrained by a powerful force and could not move.
The wooden staff in the old wizard's hand burst into dazzling light, and a beam of light shot up into the sky, covering the entire altar. I felt that the dark elements on the black-robed man were being purified quickly, and his body was gradually becoming transparent...
"Zi'ang, hurry!"
Morpheus suddenly shouted, "The old wizard is buying time for us, we can't waste it!"
I took a deep breath and struggled to get up from the ground. I will not lose. The Son of Heaven will not...
I gritted my teeth and tried my best to stand up. My body was still in pain, but I didn't care anymore.
Morpheus is right, we will not lose. Morpheus stood beside me, the dagger in his hand flashing with a cold light, and his eyes were as sharp as a blade.
"superior!"
Morpheus's voice contained a huge amount of energy. He flashed and rushed towards the trapped black-robed man like a ghost.
