Chapter 34 Quickly Transmigrated! Going Bankrupt Overnight and Becoming the Young Master’s Bodyguard (37)

I continued, "I have a feeling that this person has a special relationship with Director Liu. If we can find out his identity, we may be able to understand Director Liu's true purpose."

Shen Haoxuan didn't say anything, just thinking quietly. After a while, he raised his head and looked at me, with a complicated look in his eyes. He seemed to want to say something, but in the end he didn't say anything.

"I will handle this matter myself." This was all he said in the end, then he turned and left the room.

I watched him leave with mixed feelings. I knew that he no longer regarded me as an ordinary bodyguard, but began to regard me as a partner he could trust.

I returned to my room, deleted all the data on my computer, and hid the storage device. I realized that I was getting closer to the truth, but also closer to greater danger.

I opened my phone and looked through the address book, and my eyes stopped at a name. This person was a close confidant of Director Liu, and I had always suspected that he was closely related to the previous security incident.

I hesitated for a moment, but finally dialed the number... "Hello?" A deep voice came from the other end of the phone.

"It's me," I whispered. "I want to talk to you."

"It's me," I lowered my voice, trying to make it sound calm, "I want to talk to you."

There was silence on the other end of the phone for a moment, and then a deep voice came: "Feng Ziang? What do you want to talk to me about?"

I got straight to the point: "I want to know the truth about the previous security incident."

The other party sneered: "The truth? As a bodyguard, why do you care about these things?"

"I just want to know who is behind this." My tone remained calm, but I secretly clenched my fists.

"I don't know what you're talking about." The other party's tone was a little impatient, "If you have nothing else, I'll hang up."

"Don't worry," I said quickly, "I know you're involved in this. You've done a lot for Director Liu, right? For example... the last system failure and the warehouse fire."

The other end of the line fell silent again, and I could feel the other person's breathing becoming rapid. After a long while, he finally spoke, with a hint of threat in his tone: "You'd better not talk nonsense, otherwise..."

"What else will happen?" I asked, "Will you threaten me like you did to Maid Zhou?"

The other party was obviously stunned for a moment, and his tone became even gloomier: "You know too much."

"I don't know enough yet," I continued, "but sooner or later I will find out everything."

After hanging up the phone, I didn't feel much relieved. I knew that my actions had alerted the other party, and he would definitely try to deal with me next. I had to be careful to protect myself while revealing the truth.

I started to pay attention to everything around me and observe every suspicious person. At the same time, I also started to collect more information about Director Liu and his cronies. I realized that this was a dangerous game and that if I was not careful, I would be doomed.

The next day, I received an anonymous text message with only one sentence: "See you at the abandoned factory at 10 o'clock tonight."

I knew this was a trap set by the other party, but I had no choice but to go. Only in this way could I have a chance to catch him.

At 10 o'clock in the evening, I arrived at the abandoned factory on time. The factory was dark, with only a few dim street lights emitting a weak light, and the air was filled with a damp and decayed smell.

I walked into the factory cautiously and looked around. Suddenly, I heard footsteps behind me. I turned around suddenly, but saw nothing.

"Come out," I said in a deep voice, "I know you are here."

A cold laugh came from the darkness: "Feng Ziang, you are here as expected."

A figure slowly walked out of the darkness. It was Director Liu's confidant. He held a dagger in his hand and his eyes were full of murderous intent.

"You think you can catch me?" he sneered. "You are too naive."

I looked at him without saying anything, but silently took out a small recorder from my pocket. The red indicator light on the recorder was flashing, recording everything that had just happened.

His face turned pale instantly, and his eyes were filled with fear. He didn't expect that I was prepared.

He raised the dagger and tried to throw it at me, but I dodged it. I quickly stepped forward, snatched the dagger from his hand, and then pushed him to the ground.

"Now," I looked at him, my tone cold, "it's your turn to tell me the truth."

He struggled to break free from my control, but to no avail.

"I said...I said..." he said tremblingly, "It was Director Liu...he instructed me to do it..."

I looked at him, waiting for him to continue.

Suddenly, the factory door opened, and dazzling light shone in. A familiar figure appeared at the door...

The blinding light shone in, and Shen Haoxuan stood at the door, followed by Detective Wu and several policemen. His face was gloomy, and his eyes fell on me, and then swept over Director Liu's confidant who was pinned to the ground by me, with a complicated look in his eyes.

"Feng Ziang," he said in a low voice, "what are you doing?"

I released my confidant's hand, stood up, and dusted myself off. "Mr. Shen, you're here just in time. I think you should take a look at this." I took out my recorder and pressed the play button.

The conversation between me and my confidant came out of the recorder, which clearly recorded him admitting that he was instructed by Director Liu to cause the previous security incident.

The confidant's face turned pale in an instant. He struggled to stand up, but was quickly restrained by the police. He glared at me fiercely, his eyes full of resentment. "Feng Ziang, you plotted against me!"

I looked at him calmly without saying anything. I knew he would not give in easily.

"Feng Ziang," Shen Haoxuan walked up to me, his eyes sharp, "Did you know he would come here?"

“I guessed he would try to stop me,” I answered, “so I made preparations in advance.” I pointed to a hidden camera in a corner of the factory. “I recorded the whole process.”

Shen Haoxuan said nothing. He turned to look at Detective Wu and signaled with his eyes. Detective Wu immediately stepped forward and took down the camera to keep as evidence.

The confidant was still struggling desperately, trying to get rid of the police's control. "I didn't! I didn't do it! Feng Ziang framed me!" He shouted hysterically, and his voice echoed in the empty factory.

I looked at him coldly and ignored his shouting. I knew the truth would eventually come out.

"Take it away!" Shen Haoxuan ordered coldly.

The police escorted the henchmen out, and the factory returned to peace. Only Shen Haoxuan, Detective Wu, and I remained there.

Shen Haoxuan walked up to me and looked at me with complicated eyes. "Why... did you do this?"

"I just want to find out the truth," I answered, "and clear my name."

He was silent for a moment, then looked at me deeply and turned away. Detective Wu also walked out, leaving me alone in the empty factory.

I walked to the place where I had pinned him down, squatted down, and carefully observed the ground. In the fight just now, the confidant's clothes were torn, and some things fell out of his pocket. I picked up one of the things, which was a small metal plate with a strange symbol engraved on it.
