Chapter 35: Quickly Wearing and Falling in Love with the Dark CEO (Seventeen)
Shen Yichen lowered his voice and said mysteriously: "We can go find someone, maybe he can help us."
"Who?" I demanded.
"Mr. Lin."
I was stunned for a moment, then I understood what he meant. Mr. Lin is Lin Yehan's adoptive father and the head of the Lin Group. Although he has retired for many years, he still has a significant influence within the group. If we can get his support, then we will have a greater chance of bringing down the mastermind behind the scenes.

We decided to retreat in order to advance, and create an illusion for the mastermind that we were helpless, so as to lure him into revealing his true colors. To this end, Lin Yehan spread the word that he had become disheartened and was planning to give up the right to inherit the Lin Group.
As expected, the mastermind took action soon after the news came out. I pretended to be bribed by the mastermind and secretly told him that Lin Yehan had an emotional breakdown and was preparing to sell the ancestral home, in order to paralyze him.
In order to make the performance more realistic, we even found an auction house and held a fake auction in the Lin family's ancestral home. I saw with my own eyes that the mastermind hid in the crowd, staring greedily at every item on the auction table, as if he had already taken them for himself.
"He's hooked." Lin Yehan whispered in my ear, with a barely perceptible chill in his tone.
I clenched my fists nervously, my heart pounding in my chest. I knew that the real test was coming.
Just when the mastermind thought he was about to succeed, Lin Yehan suddenly appeared and exposed his true identity in front of everyone. It turned out that Lin Yehan had long anticipated that the mastermind would appear at the auction, so he arranged people in advance and laid a dragnet at the scene.
The mastermind obviously had not expected all this. He tried to escape in panic, but was surrounded by the police who had been waiting for a long time.
Seeing the mastermind arrested, I breathed a sigh of relief, and my tense nerves finally relaxed. However, just when I thought everything was settled, an accident happened again.

"Shen Yichen! Call an ambulance!" I shouted at the top of my lungs, my voice filled with fear and despair.
Shen Yichen rushed to the hospital as quickly as possible. Looking at the flashing red light at the door of the operating room, my heart seemed to be tightly grasped by an invisible hand, and I could hardly breathe.
I don't know how long it took, but the door of the operating room finally opened. Shen Yichen took off his mask tiredly and gave me a comforting smile: "Don't worry, the operation was successful, and he is out of danger."
After hearing this, my heart finally settled down and I couldn't help but burst into tears again.
During the time that Lin Yehan was hospitalized, I stayed by his side and took care of his diet and daily life. What made me happy was that under Shen Yichen's careful treatment, Lin Yehan gradually recovered his health.

He carefully selected a clean white men's suit for me. When I saw myself wearing it in the mirror, I seemed to have turned into a prince in a fairy tale, and he was the knight who came to greet me.
The preparations for the wedding were in full swing, but I couldn't calm down completely. I had a vague feeling that something was going to happen, and this feeling was lingering, like a dark cloud hanging over my heart. The worry and joy were about to take me away.
Until the night before the wedding, I received an unsigned letter. There was only a thin piece of paper in the envelope, and on it was written a line of beautiful handwriting in black pen: "Want to know your worries? Come to xx Cafe, I'll wait for you there."
