Chapter 9 Quick Guide to the God of Elements (Twenty-four)

Morpheus took a deep breath, and a look of determination flashed across his eyes. I knew he was going to get serious.

"Be careful, Ziang," he whispered, with a hint of danger in his voice, "This is my last attack..."

A powerful elemental force burst out from Morpheus' body, sweeping across the entire arena like a volcanic eruption. I had anticipated this and quickly retreated, mobilizing all the elemental forces in my body to form a solid barrier in front of me.

"Elemental Storm!"

Murphys gave a sweet shout, and the violent elemental force transformed into countless wind blades, attacking me like a violent storm.

I didn't dare to delay, and quickly formed seals with my hands, injecting elemental power into the barrier. The wind blades hit the barrier, making a deafening roar, and the entire arena seemed to tremble.

I gritted my teeth and held on. I knew this was Morpheus's final counterattack. As long as I could block this attack, victory would be mine!

The violent attack lasted for a long time, and finally subsided. I slowly lowered my arms, but the scene in front of me shocked me.

Murphys knelt on one knee, blood oozed from the corner of his mouth again, and his originally fair face was completely bloodless. But he still raised his head stubbornly, staring at me, his eyes full of unwillingness and... admiration?

"You won..." Morpheus' voice was extremely weak, but he still tried to maintain his last bit of pride, "It was me... who lost..."

I took a deep breath, suppressed my inner excitement, and slowly walked up to him.

"Thank you." I stretched out my hand and tried to pull him up.

But Murphys slapped my hand away, struggled to stand up, and looked at me coldly.

"Don't think that you can get my approval just because you beat me." He wiped the blood from the corner of his mouth and said in a cold tone, "You...are still far away..."

After saying this, he turned around and tried to leave, but his body swayed slightly. I subconsciously reached out to help him, but he dodged again and said coldly:

"Don't touch me..."

The dust settled, and the elemental power that filled the air above the arena gradually dissipated. I looked at Morpheus's stubborn back as he left, feeling mixed emotions.

"The third round is over, Feng Ziang wins!" The referee's loud voice echoed throughout the arena.

All of a sudden, thunderous applause surged like a tide, deafening. I was a little dazed, and hadn't fully recovered from the competition just now. Looking up, people in the audience were cheering for me, their faces were filled with excitement and excitement. I, a newcomer from another world, actually won this competition and became the new hero of the elemental world.

I stepped off the arena, and the crowd parted to make way for me. I walked straight toward Morpheus, who was still standing there, with his back to me, looking frail and as if he would fall down if the wind blew.

"Morpheus," I walked up behind him and called softly.

He turned slowly and looked at me with complicated eyes. His pale face showed no emotion. I saw his clenched fists trembling slightly, which showed that he was holding back the pain and unwillingness.

"Congratulations." His voice was soft but very firm.

"Are you okay?" I asked with concern, my eyes falling on the blood at the corner of his mouth.

He raised his hand to wipe away the blood and said calmly, "I'm fine, just a minor injury."

"You..." I hesitated, wanting to say something to comfort him, but didn't know where to start.

Morpheus seemed to see through my thoughts, and the corners of his mouth slightly raised, revealing a bitter smile: "Why, do you think I'm weak?"

"No, that's not the case," I quickly denied, "You are very strong, the strongest opponent I have ever seen."

I mean what I say. Morpheus's strength is obvious to all. Even though he was seriously injured, he still showed amazing resilience and perseverance.

"Really?" He looked at me deeply, "Then why do you..."

He stopped talking, and his eyes fell on my outstretched right hand. In my palm lay a cold metal medal, the symbol of victory. I looked at Morpheus, and his eyes still carried a hint of stubbornness, but more of a sense of relief, as if a burden had been lifted off his shoulders.

"Perhaps, we need a new beginning." I said sincerely, and gently placed the metal plate in his palm. "This badge of victory should be kept by you."

Morpheus was stunned for a moment, as if he had not expected me to say that. He looked down at the metal plate in his hand, and the cool touch seemed to bring him back to his senses. He raised his head and smiled slightly. This time, his smile was no longer cold as before, but had a hint of genuine warmth.

"Thank you," he said softly, accepting my offer.

The crowd around us gradually dispersed, leaving only Morpheus and I, and the guards who silently guarded behind him. I was about to say something to break the silence, when suddenly, an old voice came from outside the crowd.

"Congratulations, young man, you have shown extraordinary courage and strength."

I looked in the direction of the sound and saw an old man in a grey robe and holding a wooden stick walking slowly towards us. He walked unsteadily but with an air of majesty that came from not being angry.

"Who are you, old man?" I asked puzzledly.

"I'm Morpheus's butler. You can call me Butler Tang." The old man smiled slightly, looking back and forth between Morpheus and me. "I've been waiting for you for a long time. Please follow me."

Morpheus did not say anything, but followed the old man silently, and I followed closely. We walked through the noisy crowd and came to a secret room deep in the castle. Butler Tang gently opened the door and motioned for us to go in.

"Please come in, you two. The master is waiting inside."

Morpheus and I walked into the secret room, and an ancient and mysterious aura came over us. In the center of the room, a middle-aged man wearing a gorgeous robe and a golden crown sat upright. He had a dignified face and a sharp gaze, as if he could see through everything.

"Father!" Morpheus saluted respectfully.

The middle-aged man nodded slightly and turned his gaze towards me with a hint of scrutiny in his eyes.

"Are you the young man who defeated Morpheus?" His voice was deep and powerful.

I was about to open my mouth to answer when suddenly, the middle-aged man stood up abruptly, and a powerful pressure instantly enveloped the entire secret room.

"Be careful!" Murphys exclaimed and protected me behind him.

The middle-aged man ignored Murphys and stared at me, saying word by word: "Young man, the real challenge has just begun..."

The dim corridor was filled with a damp, moldy smell, and the crackling torches on the wall illuminated the three of us. I looked around vigilantly, always feeling that there was an indescribable weirdness deep in the castle.

"Old man, where are we going?" I couldn't help but ask, breaking the silence.

The old wizard stopped and turned around, his cloudy eyes gleaming with wisdom, "Young man, do you want to know the true meaning of elemental power?"

I was stunned for a moment, and subconsciously looked at Morpheus beside me. His face was calm, and I couldn't tell any emotion. I took a deep breath and nodded, "Yes, I really want to know."

The old wizard smiled slightly and continued to walk forward. "Come with me, I will take you to a place."

We walked through winding corridors and finally arrived in front of a huge stone door. The stone door was carved with intricate patterns and faintly emitted a faint light.

"This is..." I looked at the scene in amazement.

"The source of magic in the Elemental Town." The old wizard said solemnly, "Only those with pure hearts can use it."

He chanted an ancient spell, and the stone door slowly opened. A dazzling light poured out from the crack in the door, and I subconsciously closed my eyes.

When I opened my eyes again, I was amazed by the sight before me.

This is a huge underground space. The surrounding rock walls are inlaid with crystals of various colors, emitting soft light, illuminating the entire space like daylight. In the center of the space, there is a huge energy ball floating, colorful and dazzling. The water passing through the energy ball flows from here into the magic pool of the town.

"Is this the source of the magic water?" I murmured to myself, my heart filled with shock and awe.
